III. PRESENTED NEED/S

 Leslie was neglected by her father when she was about six years old, so her mother, Josy,
did everything to give them their daily needs, but after a year of working, Josy got sick. She
had a Rheumatic Heart Disease and a weak bone on her spine. Missionaries of Charity
helped Josy. Josy had conflict with her situation; her condition had no cure. An operation
on her spine was another option, but she has no resources for it. All she could do was
control the pain by taking the painkillers as perceived by the doctor. By now, she can work
as a caretaker at Missionaries of Charity to provide her medical maintenance.

 Leslie needs a checkup for her UTI

 Leslie needs a checkup for her eyes
 Improved her academics
 Leslie needs to stay in organization to provide her basic needs, and provide her study
 Continuous communication with biological family
 At her age she still needs guidance for her growth and live in a healthy environment

a) Current Socio-Economic Condition of the Biological Family

They were neglected by their father, Orgus; they don’t have any communication, and they never
see him anymore. Before they were abandoned by their father, Orgus was from Palo Leyte. He met
josy in Manila, where he was working as a construction worker and Josy was a housemaid. They both
decided to settle down in Antipolo with Orgus`s family. They live in an agricultural place, which helps
them get a source of income by harvesting copra every other three months and earning some extra
income by doing carpentry. Because of poverty and a lack of income to meet their daily needs, Orgus
decided to go back to Manila in 2007. He left his wife with their children.

Orgus constantly sent money and did not fail to maintain communication with his family. But,
after a year, the financial support and communication were stopped; they were gone for months and
later for years.

Regarding her documents and her social worker, Carina, who gave me her updated information,
her mother Josy is still working at the Missionaries of Charity as a caretaker/maintenance to support
her medical maintenance for her heart problem with her weak bone on her spine.

Josy and her eldest daughter, including the common-law partner with one child, are currently
living in Antipolo, the house built by the missionaries’ sisters. And the second daughter of Josy is still
studying; she lives with youth girls under program center, and leslie, the youngest daughter, lives at
program center (child caring organization).

IV. THE CHILD

a) Current Development/Functioning of the Child

Physical Aspect;
Leslie doesn`t easily get sick, according to Leslie she eats at the right time, but sometimes she
doesn`t eat on time when she`s at school or she`s doing a lot. She eats vegetables except for bitter
gourd but she eats different kinds of fruits.

Leslie`s sleeping routine was around 9 or 10 pm after doing her homework and project and
woke up at 6 or 7 am. She always takes a bath and she always cleans her teeth, and she is the one
who decides what to wear, she is also the one who washes her clothes. She is already conscious of
herself that’s why she always wants to look neat and clean. She knows how to organize her things
including her clothes. She wore slippers inside and outside of their house. She already knows how to
clean her nails and ears.

Her physical activities in their house are cleaning outside of their house using a vroom, the
afternoon mopping their floor, and in the evening she washes the dishes and is in charge of
babysitting. Her talents are drawing and dancing

For her physical health, she`s concerned about her eyes because it’s a bit blurry and gets hurt
when she dazzles. The sides of her stomach hurt maybe because of her UTI.

Cognitive Aspect:

Leslie is currently a 10th-grade student at Antipolo City National High School. Leslie maintains
an average academic standing at school. However, there have been instances of unreported
absences, and there is a tendency for her not to communicate these occurrences to the Village
Educator. Leslie has recently shown increased initiative in completing her assignments and projects
promptly. Despite this positive development, it is noteworthy that she still needs to address two
subjects that she did not pass in the previous academic year.

Social Aspect:

Leslie and her mommy Tessy (House Parent) relationship is fine and happy, but like another
family, she gets scolded when she does wrong, and about her siblings, most of the time she gets mad
because most of them are hardheaded, but she tries to be calm and understand them

Regarding her biological family, her mother and sisters visit her sometimes. She`s close to her
mother only because she doesn`t have any idea about her father because she is a neglected child by
her father. She was only 6 years old when she entered program center, and she’s the youngest
daughter. To her sister, sometimes they were fighting for the little things. She is not comfortable
discussing her biological family.

According to Leslie, she had one friend that was the same age as her, one friend that was older
than her, and two friends that were younger than her. Most of her friends are younger than her
because she is most comfortable with friends who are younger than her. She`s a bit introverted.

Emotional/Moral:

Leslie, sometimes she`s easily cries if she's scolded by her house parent when she did
something wrong but she didn`t mean it. If she`s upset or sad, she handles her emotions by sleeping or
going to her friend`s house. She easily gets upset when her things get touched or used without her
permission, or when someone scolds her without knowing the reason. Sometimes she answers her
mommy rudely, but she also regrets when she does that.
Her perspective on good acts is when you help your siblings and other people. Bad acts are war
freaks, thieves, and not listening to elders.

She believed in God. She believed that Jesus is God, who protects us and creates us. God is
like a brother to her and her savior.

Her goal in life is to finish her studies to help her family and other people. She saw herself as a
nurse, but she also wants to take criminology or become a flight attendant.

V. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
.

She still needs to stay in the organization center to support her study and provide her basic needs
and to enjoy her life in healthy and happy environment and to grow as a woman. She needs support
emotionally, physically, mentally, and of course financially because her biological family can`t afford to
support her specially her mother that had medical condition. She also needs guidance from her house
parent and from her Social Worker and the people who can help her inside the center.

Leslie sometimes experiences pain in her eyes because she always using gadgets which she can`t
avoid after her school. Moreover, her stomach ache was diagnosed by the attending physician and she
already given immediate medication.

VI. RECOMMENDATIONS (bulleted)

 Continuous support her needs while she still in the center.
 Continuous communication and bonding with her biological family to strengthen her relationship
