X12 855 Sample Document

Many implementers prefer to work from sample documents in order to construct the first draft of an EDI mapping. Sample data
is often quicker in seeing what the segments and elements actually contain.

This sample is provided to help suppliers implement their Ariba EDI Order Confirmation (OC) most efficiently.

The following guidelines should be kept in mind while perusing this sample OC:

1. This sample data is intended for testing only; it is not meant to be an order confirmation.
2. The separators and terminators in this sample make them easier to read. Ariba does not use these characters in production.
3. A plain text version is provided for actual map testing. See the Ariba855_Sample.txt.
4. (Disclaimer) This data is imaginary. The names used in here do not refer to any real individuals, living or dead. Any
similarity is purely coincidental. At the time of writing, the domains thebuyer.org and thesupplier.org were verified to be
non-existent and were deemed appropriately abstract for sample data usage. Numbers and codes appearing in this data were
chosen randomly and sized appropriately for their representation.
