Atthe heart of our successes lies the groundbreaking initiative — the Sarthak Global Resource Centre on Disability (GRC). As Winston Churchill aptty said, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: Itis the courage to continue that counts.” Our ‘courage and commitment to empowerment have manifested in the form of the GRC project, symbolizing resilience and progress. The GRC, set to be inaugurated in December 2023, stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to the cause of inclusivity and empowerment. This transformative facility in Gurugram embodies inovation, research, and awareness generation in the disabilty space. Abeacon of progress, it houses key initiatives such as the Vision in the Dark, Ability Museum, and the Global Accessibility Development Center. This visionary project is not just a physical space but a hub for experiential learning, exploration, and cutting- edge research. The Vision in the Dark Experience allows individuals to perceive the world through the eyes of those with visual impairments. The Abiity Museum showcases assistive devices that empower Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), fostering a deeper understancing of their capabilities. The Global Accessibility Development Genter ensures that we remaln at the forefront of accessibility technology, driving positive change. Boyond these remat experienced exponential growth and impact across various fronts. Early intorvention services have expanded rapidly, reflecting an increased awareness of the Importance of addressing the unique needs of fe milestones, Sarthak has idrenwith disebilites. The establishment of the Skilling & Employment Gentre in Patna extends our reach to ‘empower youth wth disabilities in Bihar. Our collaborative consortium, the India Disability Empowerment Alliance (|IDEA), has flourished with over 650+ like-minded NGOs joining forces. We've not only registered IDEA as a Trust but also obtained 124 and 80G certifications, solidiying our collective commitment to PwD empowerment. On the glot performance in the 10th Inter ions in France, where we cd 7th ks volumas about our growing ion to th Committee o' -ements our position as a globel leader in disability empowerment, Our digital transformation joumey continues with the thi, an E-Learning platform for launch of GyanSa skiling and training. This initiative ensures that we stay adaptive, with full-scale utiization anticipated by Apri 2024. The recognition received, including the National ‘Award 2023 Nina Sibal Memorial Award National Award 2023-24 and the nomination for the D-30 Disability Impact List, attasts to Sarthak's unwavering dedication and impact. Dr. Jitondor Aggarwal Founder & CEO, SarthakIthas always been a matter of aananda to write the Foreword ta the Annual Report of Sarthak. Itis even more so this year, as we have crossed the major milestone of completing the mega Rs 14 Crores project of SGRC, Sarthak Global Resources Cente. Itis a 5.storey building, with an innovative interior design thas spaces for dramatic awareness of the reality of disability; Assistive Devices; Accossibility research; online support Services; Divyang Children’s play spaces; Vocational Training; Employment. Services for rel government bodies, institutes, corporations, Healthcare sector, Media, ete. levant One of Sarthak's services, with immeasurable, untapped potental, is Early Intervention to help contain the level of disablity. This can begin from birth, or even during pregnancy. The parents are teught methods to help the baby/child, Due to funds constraints, Sarthak is able 10 directly run only two centers. The number of children effectively treated has gone up from 150 in 2014 to 77! in 2022-23. But, the power of El is much more. It needs to reach lacs and millions of children and parerts in dire need of it. Itis being made available in Gyansarathi app. It should be accessible countrywide, in Bharat, first; and later, worldwide. Sarthak has grown from a single center, with 8 Divvana Trainees, to 25 centers around the nation. It has trained and placed 700,00 PwDs, so far. Significant achievement. But, much bigger need, potential and challenge awaits Us. Asa step in this direction, Sarthak has formed IDEA - India Disability Empowerment Alliance, with Disability NGOs as members, from across Bharat. It has 650 members, and counting, It has been registered as Trust. t has got 80G income tax exemption. In these days of Social Media, tie vital to be present on them, and use them constructively. Sarthak’s reach has been widening... The NAA\, National Abilympic Ascociation of India, managed by Sarthek has been a growing vehicle to do this. Domestically, thas been holding Regional and Netional Competitions. A recent highlight has been our very successtul participation in the 10th International National Abilympic Association of India, in Metz, Fri 1 of our Divyangs competed in 12 skils. They won 7 medals. India ranked 7th out of 27 participating countries. Hopefully, n the 11th Abilympics, in Finiand, in 2027, we will atleast reach the 4th rank, as the Incian ‘eam did at the recent Asian Games in China! India has also been lected to the 8-memter Executive Committes of the IAF, International Abiympies Federation. Of course, despite all serious hurdles caused by the pandemic - especially greater sufferings of PaDs, Team Sarthak, under the able guidance of the CEO Dr Aggarwal,had taken the challenges head-on, converled adversity into an opportunity and gone digital in a big way which ensured that our operations focused on ‘Empowerment of FwDs' continued at a decent pace. Let me now present a brief summary of what all happened during the year ended 31 March 23. «On top of the list is our ambitious project, our dream, our pride - the Global Resource centre (GAC) in Gurugram - construction of which ‘was quite fast and we are all set to inaugurate it on 9 December. A pre-inaugural Havan, attended by many members of the advisory board, was performed on 16th October. Our impactful initiatives have positively impacted over 2 million PwOs, directly assisting 0.06 million individuals through a diverse range of services. Our interventions include innovative skilling programs lke JEET, which provide market-relevant skills in just three months. We also emphasize daital proficiency, a vital skill in today's world, and offer specialized training through our VI Training program for those with visual impairments, We strongly advocate for Early Intervention and Inclusive Education, addressing PwDs' needs in ther formatve years and promoting thelr integration into mainstroam oducational s ‘ur collaborations with over 2000 industry partners span various sectors, facilitating sustainable employment for PwOs, The National Abilympic Association of In (NAAI) serves as a platform to shovicase the remarkeble talents of PDs globally. Within the India Disability Empowerment Alliance (IDEA), we encourage collaboration among NGOs and the sharing of best practices. ‘Through our Advocacy Activities, we champion the Tights and needs of PWDs, advocating for policies and practices thet create a more inclusive society, aiming to eliminate barriers and promote equal opportunities for PwDs in every sphere of life. In the digital realm, our initiatives bridge crucial gaps \with CapSarathi, a comprehensive Information App & Portal; RozgarSarathi, a Job Portal connecting PwOs with real-time employment opportunities; and GyanSarathi, an Elearning platform tailored to the distinctive learning requirements of PwDs. ‘As we pursue Vision 2027, Sarthak Educetional Trust ‘xomplifios the power of collective effort in achioving global SDGs. With unwavering dedication, we envision a future where PwDs not only flourish but also leed, contributing to a more just and harmonious world. Traditional hearing aids proved ineffective, and a cocheer implant at age 5 marked the start of his path to sound and speech. Sarthak’s early intervention team provided rigorous speech therapy and special education services, transforming Aarav from a silent observer into @ confident communicator. Armaan Khan: Triumphing Over Challenges: Armaan Khan, an 8-year-old with Down syndrome, faced uncertainty and obstacles. Sarthak’s early intervention team recommended Occupational Therapy, Special Education, and Speech Therapy. Over three months of dedicated online sessions, Armaan excelled in ‘communication, expanding his vocabulary significantly,* Aryansh: A Journey from Silence to Hope: Aryansh, a 4-year-old with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), faced Unique challenges. Sarthak oftered hope through Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. Aryansh's progress was evident in his ability to follow commands and vocalize. Zainul, a 4-year-old with ADHD, struggled with attention and hyperactivity: Sarthak’s therapy and parental education brought significant changes in just 8 ‘months. Despite a naional average school enrollment, there is a considerable gap in including children with, disabilties in mainstream education. Our Efforts and Approach - «Identifying the Neod: A Comprahensive Screening ‘Approach - Our journey began with a thorough screening ‘and identification study in 10 Government Schools. Through comprehensive assessment, covering parameters such as health stetus, intelligence quotient, and educational levels, students with disabilities were identified. «Challenges Unvelled: Lack of Awareness and Integration -The analysis underscored a critical lack of awareness and efforts to integrate these children into mainstream classrooms, extre-curricular activities, and related faciliies. + Sensitization Workshops: Bridging the Awareness, Gap - Responding to this need, Sarthak organized sensitization workshops for perents, teachers, end other stakcholders. The insights gained from these sessions \wore pivotal in understanding the challenges faced by these children and were subsequently presented to government functionaries. + Initiating Change: The Birth of Serthak Resource Contre: This groundwork paved the way for the ‘establishment of the Sarthak Resource Centre in Nanglei, West Delhi, inaugurated on July 23, 2016, with ‘he support of a local Government School ‘+ Holistic Approach: Nurturing Minds and Bodies: Althe Sarthaks Resource Centre, we adopted a holistic approach to inclusive education. Our team provided remedal classes, medical, and psycho-social rehabilitation to children with special needs. + Empowering Futures: Skill Development Initiatives:Recognizing the importance of skill development, we extended IT and pre-vorational training support, ensuring that these children not only receive an ‘education but alse gain practical skis to enhance their future prospects, Way Forward: Sust: Expanding Inclusivity While celebrating the achievements, our journey doesn't end here.
