To install VirtualBox on a Windows 10/11 system with at least 8GB RAM and a 64-bit processor: 1. Download VirtualBox from their website and install the application as well as Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables for both 32-bit and 64-bit. 2. Download an Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS ISO image and configure a new virtual machine using at least 8GB RAM and a 25GB virtual hard disk. 3. Start the virtual machine to complete Ubuntu installation and configuration. Once complete, test that Ubuntu is running properly within VirtualBox.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENT TO INSTALL VIRTUALBOX

1.System type – 64 bit processor

2.OS – Windows 10 or 11

3.RAM size >8GB(Preferable)

STEPS TO INSTALL VIRTUAL BOX


Step1: Download the virtual box from the given link https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Step2: Click on Windows host


File will be downloaded automatically

Step3: Download the visual Studio from the given permalink

Step4: Click on the permalink for X86 to download the executables

Step5:Click on X64 permalink to download the executable file


Step6:Download the Ubuntu from the given link https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Step 7:Click on download of Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS

The size of the file is 4.58GB(Please ensure that you are having proper internet connection while
downloading as well installing the application software)

Step8:Right click on the downloaded software and Install them one by one by clicking on Run As
Administrator
Click on Yes
Click on check box and click on install as shown below

Once the installation done click on close


Step9:Right click on the software file named as VC_redist.x86 and click Run As Administrator as
shown below

Click as Yes
Click on check box and click on install

Installation will continue as shown below


Click on close once the installation is successful.

Please restart the System post installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 – 2022 Redistributable
(x64) and (x86).
Step10:Right click on downloaded virtual box windows Host click on Run As Administrator

Click on Yes
Click on Next

Click on Next
Click on Yes

Click on Yes
Click on Install

The dialogue box will open and shoes the status of installation
Click on Finish

Once the installation is done you will get the dialogue box as shown below
Step11:Create the virtual Machine by clicking on the Machine New as shown below

Give name and Load the downloaded disk image of ubuntu in the ISO Image and Click Next as
shown below
Give username, Password and Hostname as shown below

Set the Hardware Base Memory size as 8000MB and CPU cycle as 4 in Processors.
Set the Virtual Hard disk size as 25GB as shown below

Click On Next
The Summary of virtual machine will be displayed as shown below

After this click on finish then you will get the dialogue box as shown below
Click on start
You can login using password

Click on skip
Click on Next

Click on Next
Click on Next

Click on Done
The following page will open

To check the working click on Mozila Firebox and Search and check the working of it.
Successfully Ubuntu is installed in the VirtuaBox.
