[INT.TEENAGER'S ROOM- NIGHT]
Three teenagers,LUCAS(17),EMMA(16), and TYLER(18), sit in a
circle in a dimly lit basement, surrounded by colorful
posters and bean bags.
LUCAS:
You guys ready for this?
EMMA AND TYLER:
Let's do this.

[They sit around and moments later the room starts warping.]
EMMA:
Whoa, this is insane.
LUCAS:
I feel like i'm dropping through time.
TYLER:
(laughing)
Let's see what happens.
[The camera zooms into Emma's eye and then everything ,morphs
into different shapes and bright colors. Until it ends with a
loud crash from the attic.]
EMMA:
(jumps)
OMG,did you guys hear that?
TYLER:
Yeah, it sounded like it came from the attic.
LUCAS:
Should we check it out?
EMMA:
Wait I don't want us to get hurt, what if there's something
dangerous up there.
LUCAS:

Everything will be okay, let's go.

[They cautiously make their way into the attic, the world
around them shifting and distorting with each step. When they
reach the top, they find that everything looks all wrong.]
TYLER:
I don't see anything.
EMMA:
Maybe we didn't actually hear anything. We should just go
back down and watch a movie.
TYLER AND LUCAS:
Yeah, okay.
[They shrug it off and go back to TYLER'S room and put on a
movie, but they all begin getting paranoid.]
LUCAS:
Guys, what if someone is actually up there and we didn't see
them.
TYLER:
LIKE WHAT?
LUCAS:

I don't know, what if someone got hurt?

EMMA:
Everything is fine guys, just watch the movie. I have to use
the bathroom, I'll be back in a second.
(Emma walks into bathroom)
[The thought still lingers in their minds, festering as
colors and shapes start morphing again.]
(Emma comes back)
TYLER:
What if we did something?
EMMA:
What are you talking about? What would have happened?

TYLER:
Like...like we hurt someone.
[they all exchange nervous glances, their minds racing with
delusions]
LUCAS:
We have to do something.
EMMA:
What do you mean?
LUCAS:
We have to cover it up. We have to make sure no one finds
out.
[They frantically begin to concoct a plan, their minds
clouded by fear and paranoia. They go back to the attic and
find a body]
EMMA:
WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO?
I left you alone for 5 minutes.
LUCAS AND TYLER:
(together)
I...I don't know
[Tyler starts freaking out and pacing]
EMMA:
(moving towards Tyler)
Tyler what the hell did you do?
[Tyler stays quiet and Emma lunges at him, punching him.
Lucas breaks them apart]
TYLER:
GUYS STOP!
We have to fix this. Stop fighting.
[They start cleaning up the basement , disposing of anything
that may be considered evidence.]
LUCAS:
We have to take her to the woods so no one finds her.
[Camera cuts to them walking in the woods and hiding the
girl]
TYLER:
(walking)
What if we get caught?

EMMA:
Stop, we won't get caught. We just have to come up with a
cover story.
[They walk back to the house and go back to Tyler's
room.Hours pass and they calm down, the colors and shapes
completely stop and they start thinking more clearly.]
EMMA:
We should go re check the house and the woods to see if it
really happened.]
[They go and check the rest of the house and walk outside to
the woods where the body was put.]
LUCAS:
There's nothing here guys. Are we sure this is the right
place?
EMMA AND TYLER:
Yes, this is the place.
[The camera pans and there is nothing but trees around them,
and no signs of anything out of the ordinary.]
LUCAS:
Guys we should keep walking just to make sure.
EMMA AND LUCAS:
Okay, let's go.
EMMA:
There's nothing here guys.
What if nothing ever actually happened?
TYLER:
But it all felt so real, how would that be possible?
[The kids walk back home and decide to check the attic one
last time.They walk up into the creaking attic and all shared
nervous glances.]
TYLER:
Guys we need to really look.
[They begin searching and still come up with nothing so they
go back to Tyler's room and sit on the bed.]
LUCAS:
What if we never actually heard anything, what if we were all
just super paranoid?
EMMA:
There's no way.

LUCAS:
We all heard it, how would it not have been real.
EMMA:
It all felt so real.

TYLER:
So why is there no trace then, there's nothing here or in the
woods! There's no way we could have cleaned up that good.
[Emma and Lucas exchange a nervous glance.]
LUCAS:
Is that even possible? For us all to hear and see something
and none of it is real.
EMMA:
What if he's right Lucas. It's crazy but it would make sense.
LUCAS:
So you're telling me we almost ruined our lives over a
hallucination?
TYLER:
Never again.
EMMA:
Agreed, never again.
[They share a nervous laugh, the weight of there experience
hanging heavy in the air.]
[Fade out.]
