Sweet Cupcake - Keychain

INFO:

This pattern is meant for beginners. You can use any kind of the yarn you want, you will Reed
at least 2 colours and red for the cherry on the top and optionally some variegated yarn with short
colour changes to make the sprinkles. You will also need a keychain base and… screw cup from the
bottle with wider top can be useful! My cupcakes are made with YarnArt Jeans and Bravo Colors
yarns, they are about 5cm high and 6cm wide.

ABBREVIATIONS:  [sequence]*x – repeating the sequence


x times
 MR – magic ring
 sc – single crochet NOTE: Number in the brackets means the
 dc – double crochet final number of stitches in the round.
 inc – increase – 2 sc in 1 stitch Repeat the line (ex. 2sc, dec) till you
 dec – decrease – 2 sc together have that number.

CUPCAKE: (start with bottom colour)


1. 8sc in MR (8)
2. inc*8 (16)
3. [1sc, inc]*8 (24)
4. [2sc, inc]*8 (32)
5. [3sc, inc]*8 (40)
6. 40sc (40) (back loop only)
7-12. 40sc (40) - (6 rounds)
Change yarn to the top colour.
13a. [3dc in one stitch, 1sc]*20 (front loop only – PHOTO A)
13b. 40sc (40) (back loop only – PHOTO B)

If you want the flat botton, even after


stuffing, use the screw cup – put it inside the
cupcake just like in the picture:

Finish with the slip stitch. Use a needle to fasten off the last 8 stitches. Leave a long „tail”.

CHERRY:
1. 6sc in MR (6)
2. [1sc, inc]*3 (9)
3. 9sc (9)
4. 1sc, dec*4 (5)

Finish with the slip stitch and lead the thread through the middle of MR from the inside. You will
use that thread to sew the keychain base in.

Now use the thread left from the cupcake to sew


the cherry on really firmly.
Use the thread from the cherry to sew in the
keychain base.

If you chose a solid colour for cupcake’s top, you


can add the sprinkles with the variegated yarn
with short colour changes.

NOW YOUR CUPCAKE IS FINISHED!
