KABATAAN CATECHISM SESSION: THE COMMANDMENTS – 8th Commandment

Learning Objectives:

 To let the girls be familiarized with the 8th Commandment : Thou shalt not bear
false withness
 To Emphasize that the 8th commandment:
COMMANDS:
1. Truthfulness
2. Testify to our faith.
3. Correct our neighbor and accept brotherly correction.
4. Remedy our lies.

FORBIDS:

1. To lie – Tita Nette V.


2. Perjury – Tita Marlyne
3. Hypocrisy – Tita Cristi
4. Gossip – Tita Nini
5. Slander, detraction, calumny – Tita Beth V.
6. Rash judgment – Tita Ludy

 Topic assignment:

 Flow of Breakout Room:

 Assign the following roles:

o Group Reporter – member who has not been a group reporter


before
o Group Secretary – Should be the group member who has not yet been
assigned a secretary role.
o Timekeeper – any volunteer from the group

 Titas can share her experiences about the topic to emphasize the importance
of the 8th commandment.

 Discus the: WHAT, WHY, HOW. Some guide questions that can be used for
this: **Titas can ask more open-ended questions to facilitate a fruitful
discussion with the girls.

o What is their idea or understanding about it? What are some


examples they can think of related to this?
o Why is it related to the 8th commandment? Why do people do this?
o How can we avoid it?

 Finalize the reporting

 35 mins will be allotted for the working group discussion.

 Our target time flow will look like:

o 1:30 – 1:35 : Admitting of participants


o 1:35 – 2:05 : Plenary
o 2:05 – 2:40 : Breakout Rooms
o 2:40 – 3:15 : Presentation of the groups
o 3:15 – 3:30 : Wrap up session

 Main room: DEBRIEF


General debrief of the day’s session and a summary of the reporting the girls
presented.

End the session by challenging the girls to obey the commandments discussed in the
best way they can, be a good example to their community or even their household.

Thank the girls for their time and encourage them to attend next week and to BE ON
