hello I'm gonna explain a bit more about the new features of 7.0 the new software
0:08
the new firmware which will come up in the future with our new machines of
0:14
course also 7.0 will become available for the some of the older machines but
0:20
let's concentrate ourselves on the capabilities on the new machine the 7.0
0:27
consists of as well apart on the my press as well apart in the workflow I'm
0:34
gonna overview some stuff a little bit from important to less important only be
0:42
together there's not really a super nice structure on it so there's more in a
0:48
kind of informal explanation on what is new so the first thing which is
0:55
interesting to notice is that we have now a search field on top this search
1:02
field will only look into jobs though it's not a search field for help or for
1:08
commands or so but purely for jobs so let me demonstrate so here on top on the
1:15
search field if I type in for example phone and you enter then it shows you
1:21
throughout the whole collection job collections which are at the moment
1:28
enabled where the word punk is listed into as you can see here a couple of
1:34
jobs and if you want to go down to one particular file just click on it and then
select go to job it will jump to
1:43
the job that you have selected what it doesn't do automatically though is to close
because you might make mistake and
1:51
you might have to select another one go to job or this one go to job and it
1:58
jumps to the job that you have selected if you found a job of your of your
2:04
choice of the one that he needed to to find then you can just close the search
window
2:10
you know that in the early days the only way to do this was to go on server level
2:15
and select a particular filter if you select this filter on job name where
2:23
also unfortunately at that case working with wildcards selects wildcard pong
2:31
wildcard and apply this and say ok then
2:37
you see you also would found two jobs in your server Oh
2:42
fortunately after that you have to go back to the filter and to disable the
2:48
filter otherwise you don't see there are some jobs anymore so that's actually a
functionality of
2:55
the search ok another thing which is
3:00
actually new in 7.0 or actually is improved in 7.0 compared to it 6 is that
3:07
we have now a 5.4 update this new RIP is
3:14
actually the first one which is compliant with the new PDF 2.0
3:22
implementation so adobe has given way the the PDF specification and is giving
3:34
it to the association and not only Adobe
3:39
but also other companies like Ivan and other people are members of this group
3:46
and they define right now the specification of the 2.0 and future
3:52
implementations of PDF Adobe with this rip 45.4 has as more or less compliant
4:02
complaining about this iso standard new iso standard PDF 2.0 it comes with all
4:11
kind of extra features that were not there most of them are not that
4:17
important for us but anyway we'll see in the future how
4:23
using the face x800 workflow we'll make use of some of those specifications
4:30
another feature in the 7.0 and future
4:37
implementations is the new inspector the inspector version 2 was already in a
4:45
previous release available but not installed by standard you could have selected it
if you want to but by now in
4:53
7.0 this new inspector is the default
4:59
let's launch it so if I open a job
5:08
by double-clicking on the icon it will open the new inspector as you see the
5:18
new inspector looks a little bit more heavy but on your hand also a little bit
5:25
more up to date with the look and feel that you also will find in an office
5:31
packet with over here driven and its features over there the loading of the
5:40
the program takes a little bit more time but the advantage of this version is for
5:47
example life zooming if i zoom in you see it's it's life going further and it
5:54
doesn't need to rebuild the image from scratch all the time from the the ready
6:02
to print elements there are PE files we can easily zoom in and view it also has
6:11
extra features including the possibility to to view also all kind of extra things
6:21
like screening screen capability if you would assume in far enough then it will
6:28
show you the screen image this is of
6:34
course only available if you have a special option though some people might need
that but anyway just to show you
6:42
the capabilities of the new inspector it's again a little bit getting used to
6:48
I think in the beginning it's all a bit like searching how do I do this or how
6:53
do I do that so I can imagine that in the beginning is live it's more
6:59
difficult to to grasp or to to know how you would I would analyze things but
7:09
basically it's it's an improvement um color level we have also changed
7:18
something and made a ripoli bit more future-proofed proof I mean by adding
7:25
extra possibilities in color management and one of the items is to define as
7:33
many color plates as you want so if you want to add for example an extra color
7:41
like for example ocean I'm going to create that for the extra blue or second
7:49
blue better I have also maybe green which I gonna
7:57
remap to saikhan green and maybe another
8:04
one I'm gonna add this white looks like
8:11
on whites for example like that so have now more color planes that you can
8:20
define of course you could argue that yeah what's the benefit if you only have
8:27
a five color machine why would you add extra lines there yeah indeed if you if
8:37
you would not remap drug dramatically particular eyes so what we could do of course
to add kind of more orange to
8:48
second orange and or blacks kind of let's say
9:00
tomato you go to extra black or it's my super black I mean and and when you're
9:07
done would take out normal black and you'd replace it with with the extra
9:15
black super black and stuff like that you can of course not work with the standard
seeing rocky coast but with
9:22
completely different colors but of course in that case you need to do a create
mapping to in my press so if you
9:30
would go down to the my press and you would define your color stable then you
9:39
can go to a create custom one where you define
9:50
something special like yeah I'm not gonna go for the black little silly
9:56
magenta I'm gonna take the orange and put some orange in there and so and so
10:02
on yeah so you could in that case you could actually define here your own goal
10:11
offsets and I'm done if this contains orange and blue and
10:17
stuff like that instead of sine then of course it could make sense that you
10:22
define this colors over here in the exit hard workflow but Jenny's speaking I
10:30
think it will not be used that much for this application but of course we're
10:36
looking into the future too so I'm not gonna say if and when and what kind of
10:42
machine dry tone or inkjet we're gonna announce in the next year's but most
10:50
likely there could be a machine coming up which supports not only five colors but
maybe seven colors and having that
10:57
ability and having at least in Exeter nurse the ability to define this these extra
planes allows us to do testing
11:04
allows us to do analyzing and and and okay see how far we can get with this
11:10
weather finally sometime in the future a machine will come out with this seven or
11:17
eight or ten whoever tell its color planes I don't know but anyway our
11:22
software or x800 workflow is already prepared for it I also want to mention
11:29
that of course the difference between a color plane here yeah and a color model
11:37
when you choose here more colors them as you can see you can also define over
11:44
here a particular color like for example saikhan cream and that maybe you might
11:50
say about what is now the difference between this kind saikhan green and that's
icon green well the thing here is
11:59
that this here is just defining your mapping of a
12:05
particular Bantam or a particular named course towards a plate yeah well when
12:14
you like look two more colors then of course this has to do all with the lookup
table of the color books which
12:23
which is defined over here in the color book the lookup table for the the named
12:28
course which are not defined by this one here and using them X icon green so as
12:34
long as a current and then the named color is being used here it will straight be
maps to that particular
12:40
color but when you are using a Pantone or a named core which is not in this
12:47
list but is in the code books like for example if I would use your the Pantone
12:52
plus library if you have that one enabled the of course it will use for
12:59
those course which are not here the exact and green planes moving on further
13:06
to the the color books when you select a color book you can also select a profile
13:13
color for cost profile in this case when you're looking for more colors then of
13:21
course it makes sense to use a 5 color profile but not necessary for the sake
13:27
images those one you can just use the standard let's say the standard four
13:34
color profile so the standard color for probe for color profile will be used for
all the similar key images but if you
13:41
have a named color due to the more color setting here then you're gonna use a
13:49
look a color forecasts profile of course five color profile as long as of course
13:58
that particular pander color is not found in a more color lookup table
14:03
because this is already converting you named co-op Pantone whatever towards a
14:11
five-course see my k+ sigh convene lookup table but if it's not in there
14:19
then it's going to use this one here and in this case the Pantone plus la b
14:24
lookup table needs of course to converts in that case they gonna use this profile
14:31
the color focus profile to make it happen okay another thing which is little bit
changed is that as you see
14:39
here you can also select instead of num here on this list a reduced color book
14:45
of job currents what this actually does is it's a little bit the same as it used
14:51
to be in all software but now in automatic way in the early days when you
14:56
wanted to have a limited lookup table from all the colors which are in your
15:02
system then you had to actually first process the job then you you could see
15:10
what are the Pantone color or the named colors in the job and then you could
15:16
select create job columns lookup table but let's show you that in the next job
15:22
actually so if I select here the job colorants and I have a job with some
15:28
binoculars as you see you have three Pantone colors and a varnish and
15:33
apparently die there are the colors in this job if I now want to create a limited
lookup
15:41
table a reduced cover book like the collet then I have just let's restart a
15:48
job as it was before this is how it comes in and automatically this limited
15:53
lookup table will be created in from the first time so if you don't want to
15:58
analyze this you simply go to the color forecast and what you see is that you
16:06
have now a limited lookup table where you can then start playing around playing
around with with disco love as
16:13
you would be able to do in early day so you could go for a different led or four
different Simic a value in the
16:21
same time while I'm explaining this maybe something else is interesting to to see
here see that the Delta e values
16:27
for this collage are six point five six point six seven five point zero these
16:34
are the Delta e values of the LEP values with the look of playable that we have
selected and you know that also
16:41
something like optimized exists so you can optimize a particular color so if
16:48
you say optimize all renderings or select on this one here that's the same then we
can improve it so remember six
16:56
point five eight point six a five point zero I'm gonna optimize right now and
17:01
see how those LT values would make it better well this is something what the
17:08
color forecast professional can do in that optimization if you want to do this
17:13
all in one go then you could also select here the job currents optimized so
17:19
optimize job : so you select actually this option here then actually the
17:25
customized reduced color book lookup table will be created in one go plus the
17:34
extra optimization will be done also at the same time courses last one is only
17:40
available when you have the professional version though because optimization is a
part of the professional version and the
17:48
standard version doesn't have that option in principle if you select optimize job
currents or you would have
17:55
selected over here immediately the lookup table which came from your second
18:02
color control then this normally would give more or less the same results we
18:09
can argue whether the lookup table coming from the second color control
18:15
from the cloud would be a little bit better or not but anyway also that lookup
table is by default and optimized
18:24
it's one of course where it gives the same result or not it all depends a little
bit on what
18:29
kind of profile you have selected of course so in this case the color profile
18:35
that is selected is the printer profile qai ASAP paper if this profile a generic
18:43
profile and of course it will not be super if it's the same profile that is
18:49
used and coming actually from the exact and color control clouds then it should
18:55
give more or less the same results a little bit more on the fact of
19:00
optimization and the effect of it I can show you with the color forecaster so
19:06
let me start the color forecasts right now under tools here for color forecast
19:13
if I now open the Pantone color plus library then you see that actually in
19:22
total you have in 2019 patches with a
19:28
lot of Delta e values as you see here and average Delta e is 4.96 maximum 18
19:37
and out of those 2019 patches 67% is in
19:44
damage but it doesn't mean that from the 67% the accuracy of each individual CMYK
19:54
formulation from that leb value which is in in the list is very accurate defines
20:03
and if you look to the color quality then you see that only 2% of the the
20:10
patches are we need Delta e of two to
20:15
their targets so although 67 percent should be in
20:21
gamut but if you check the formal Asian that came out of that lookup table that
20:27
only two percent is that has a good accuracy and that's now so specific on
20:34
optimization if you're going to try to optimize all the renderings then then this
will
20:43
give it better results I'm gonna actually copy this over first I'm gonna make it
duplicates so this becomes
20:49
definitely writable but I get to the same result of course this is same list
20:56
and what I'm gonna do right now I'm gonna export this list so I can later
21:03
review it again and now there's a new option in your color forecasts where you
21:08
can select your file and then export as
21:13
excel text file and we're gonna call this color plus non-optimized I'm gonna
21:22
save it away on the desktop this is my first let's say lookup table that I
21:29
create which is a non optimized one now I'm gonna go for this this table and I'm
21:37
gonna now optimize all the renderings so it's now calculating a better version or
21:44
formulation seem like a for that particular leb value and this isn't rise
21:50
now to optimize it let me see what it gives so as you see before the
21:58
optimization the color quality accuracy was 2% and now after the optimization I
22:06
come to 68% so that's definitely way better and you see that the average
22:12
delta-e dropped to 1.56 so that's the
22:17
the the function of the optimization now let's of course if this is optimization is
done you have to also to
22:24
make sure that you committed the changes by going to this option here commit all
22:31
renderings commit the custom rendering of all names so if you do that click
22:36
then this is now all let's say saved away if I now for the same value I'm
22:43
gonna now export this lookup table to an excel file again and
22:50
we call this the optimized version then
22:57
I have now to Excel let's say lookup
23:03
tables to non-optimized and optimized
23:10
let's open this two files in Excel so
23:20
this is 1 and this is 2 and let's copy
23:29
now some data and we're going to take here this data and then copy it over
23:39
here I'm gonna sorts that's
23:51
I'm going to take this data does your
23:57
own
24:03
I'm gonna copy that over to here I'm
24:08
gonna make lists
24:19
and I'm gonna show you now it in diagram
24:30
with two lines
24:47
and then we have my access
24:56
for the non-optimized
25:05
for the optimized
25:16
so and I see a clearly the difference between the non-optimized curve of all
25:24
the almost leaving more than 2000 patches in that lookup table where you clearly
see quickly delta e will be
25:34
reduced to way less and what you also see is that there will be many more
25:41
items which are definitely within gamut and I'm perfectly matched there are
25:47
still an amount of colors which are definitely not have a delta e of zero but those
clothes are definitely out of
25:54
gamut this that is for sure so they are in total 33 percent of patches which
26:03
have a delta e bigger than 2 so that's that is definitely clear not everything
26:09
is within gamut so I hope this clarifies limit two things actually first of all
26:15
you see what the impact is of an optimization and another thing you saw
26:22
that we have now the possibility to exports import and export all kind of
26:29
file formats including an excel text file so we can see what the expected
26:38
Delta is the CE Marking values of that particular fight so the output of an
26:43
excel file looks a little bit like this the output the name of the name of the
26:52
core the leb value to see mckay values and predicted Delta e value of it maybe
27:01
last extra function a nice function of the new core forecast pro version is the
27:10
creation of swatch box how to do that well we have here for example here a Pantone
color press library and what you
27:17
can do is to select here reports functionality if you click on reports
27:22
then it opens a dialog box and in total there are 2019 course I
27:30
have selected up front three colors over here so I can limit myself to those
27:37
three colors if I want to but you can also select everything and you hear a
27:44
couple of report functionalities and one of them is definitely also the candy
27:49
shop printing but I think that functionality or you already know
27:54
although the extra features right now is that when you use patches selected
28:01
patches only two of these three and if you now would print the candy shop it will
immediately create a candy shop for
28:07
those three patches where it used to be only possible to do that one by one but
28:13
now with multiple select and the possibility to create this candy shop
28:19
immediately for all three colors which is useful if you have three or four named
colors in your job it makes the
28:28
life of course easier but what I'm going to show you now is also the possibility to
create a color fam so I'm gonna do
28:37
that for all the patches and by clicking here on create coffin you're gonna
28:42
create a kind of patch book let's say in PDF that you can unprinted there is a
28:48
possibility to say okay use the tint what is this option doing well if you
28:54
select you think tint then this code
28:59
from booklet PDF swatch book will will actually has have only the the named
29:07
colors in this PDF file and so not the same seeing what K values from it so as a
29:15
result it's more generic kind of PDF which can be done applied by different
29:23
look-up tables by different color management features later described so
29:28
if you don't do that if you say use not thing but use the actual CMYK values then
of course it will take the same
29:35
activities from this lookup table with this profile at that to it and optimized or
not optimized
29:42
this desire the outputs that will be created them and of course later a
29:48
normal core management on reap level will not have any impact anymore so
29:54
let's create this color phone and I'm gonna drop it on the desktop so we can I
30:02
can easily open it well it's created and I'm gonna open
30:09
this PDF so this the PDF is opened and
30:16
if I scroll through all the pages you'll see first a couple of generic pages but
30:22
then all the patches will be on the list in many many pages into 296 for this
30:31
case for this use case and at the end you have also a final page this is a
30:39
swatch book which can now be printed this colors have particularly MacAvoy so
30:45
not the the plant definitions anymore but just seemed like a closely knit and
30:51
you can just print it another feature which has been added in 7.0 related with
30:59
color is the fact that you can now also print see gas file so to demonstrate
31:06
that quickly suppose I have this job here with the colorants item in it and
31:11
these are the three colors leb value course which depend on colors which are
31:20
in this table I can actually export this
31:25
simply going to go to file export as a sea gets file and this file I'm going to
31:33
make it easy a little bit I'm going to dump it straight in the hot folder and
31:39
we're going to call it core batches
31:45
and so when you process now as it gets file you'll get a just a little death
31:55
trip as you can see over here this this rip if it's been printed with x800
32:03
and with my press will automatically be measured by the in-line spectrometer and
32:08
you can then create reports with it or analyze it further down you can also
32:15
create a test trip to be used for all the jobs but in that case you have to do
32:21
it slightly different in that case you have to go to reports and then select
32:27
option export color key before I do that I'm gonna rename it to for example
32:36
company patches patches for quali the
32:49
tricky something like that and I'm gonna now create reports and select now the
32:59
export color key get the message that a color key the finish was created and if
33:07
I now go back to the exit hundreds then on every job where I want to print those
33:14
color patches let's now for an easy sake take this one I go to color key I had to
refresh for
33:23
it but anyway right now company patches for quality check is now in the color
33:29
key available you can select it right now and if you print this color key you
33:38
do that of course by making sure that color key is enabled and also in my
33:45
press and if you done print is then it should be able to create your reports
33:50
also on this job with these patches in mind in the early
33:58
days it was also possible to do it but then you had to editing's as soon as
34:04
you're gonna print this files with with this color key enabled you will see the
34:11
measurements coming in and are normally you will be able to create reports from it
now this section is not finished yet
34:18
with this software but the idea is that you will get two kind of extra aims that
34:24
you can compare it to first is the original aim what does it mean
34:30
well it takes the ellaby values that were described in that lookup table so we're
talking about this ones but
34:37
another extra aim that will be calculated is what I call the corrective
34:46
aim and the corrective aim is nothing more than this values over the profile
34:54
recalculate what the similar key values would be for this this Sima give us and
35:00
then recalculate this back over the profile what Li B values would be if you
35:07
would have printed this le B values with this similar case as you see if you I
35:13
would print with this in my case then you would have a delta Y of 6 for this 2
35:19
and Delta F of 3 of that green one here but if you would over the profile
35:26
calculate back what this Sima Qian's will give on la vie level and then
35:33
you're gonna compare it with the measurement you do from the Machine then if your
machine is perfectly tuned and
35:40
tweaked then you should have a very pretty close Delta e zero but as in the
35:46
most ideal situations so let's say adult EF 1 which should be achievable so once
35:53
you measured all these color key items and you get the measurements in you can
36:00
create reports as you can see here this report manager is not finished yet but
36:05
it will come an extra feature on color is as you can see over here the engine goal
of
36:14
reference or reference color so if you enable this reference color then we're
36:22
gonna print the batches sign magenta yellow red green blue whatever and we're
36:28
gonna measure them this this typical ones and we can see how far they fall
36:35
within Delta e so this is a limit more than density control but more like color
36:40
control we measure the leb values and compare them with the targets and we
36:47
define a delta e for it also this strip or this measurement strip will be them
36:54
included in the job so the job will have also its reference course item or
37:02
information evident within the job and the more measurements you do the more they
will flop and you can also then
37:09
create a certification on a color key report for it the reference color is not
37:16
only a tool to be able to create reports of it but it's also integrated in my
37:23
press cruise control so as you see over here we have the reference color
measurements and if they fail you will
37:30
see them also arriving here in cruise control under reference course so
37:37
besides the d-max generalization that you already knew in cruise control the audit
also now reference colors in the
37:46
newest machine though we also do duplex machine we also will have a registration
37:52
camera and also that will be added in the cruise control but since over here
37:58
with this uses the face I showing you right now I'm at a eight thousand eight
38:03
hundred and there we don't have a registration camera on boards so that's why it's
not visible over here but on
38:09
the latest newest machines that will come up you will have even a fourth cruise
control item in this overview
38:18
so if everything is good on reference cause then you will get here also a
38:24
green mark on top of that they added here an extra button as you can see here
38:30
settings and that will show you the possibility to manipulate the reaction a
38:36
logic behind the cruise control so and basically it's been set a little bit
38:41
like this that we're gonna have three items we have a unknown item that means
38:49
actually the the patch is create so the icon is grey we don't know yet then we
38:55
have a measurement action for the state warning which means that the icon over
39:01
here on the cruise control is yellow and on the last one measuring error entering
39:07
action for state errors which means that the icon over here is so red now what
39:16
we're gonna do that in this three situation you can define over here so
39:22
for example for the unknown state I would suggest to keep it to in your
39:27
because you didn't have any measurements back in yet so you cannot really
39:33
starting to do something but you could decide to go to warning so you'll get
39:39
warnings for this the other option for the warning delay so when I can is
39:44
yellow you could set it to warning for example so okay watch out you're not
39:50
perfect yet you're not green anymore so warning indicating you're not good
39:56
yet and there is a possibility for the error so when the icon is red to not
40:04
just give a warning but just to do even a soft stop to say okay I'm gonna stop
40:09
trending here because my course are not good and besides of that for those last
40:17
two you can define how many bad measurements you will need before it
40:23
will go in soft stop so if you leave it less secure you could say well if it's
40:28
just for one or three times into red I'm not gonna stop does not
40:35
need it of course you will get them if you select this over here - warning you will
get warnings you know but if you
40:45
put it for example to one then only one that measurement only one red moments or
40:53
measurement which results in a red icon will create immediately a soft stop this
40:58
is of course pretty hard situation so if you would put these two let's say one
41:04
like this warning and like that so it's
41:10
pretty severe so as you don't have any measurements in you will get already warning
if you have
41:17
an orange you will definitely get a warning immediately after one measurement and
if it's one measurement
41:25
in red it's going to do a soft so that's pretty severe of course you can of course
also make it a little bit more
41:31
softer by just putting it to this level for example I'm just gonna ignore
41:38
everything so no measurements I'm gonna ignore if you have an yellow icon saying
41:45
okay watch out a warning then I'm just gonna in your it I'm not gonna tell
41:51
anything about it and the last if you have five bad measurements in red then
41:58
you get a warning that's a very weak situation of it you also see over here
42:07
the measuring expiration time and then actually it tells you how many minutes
42:12
it will take off of stopping or not
42:19
doing anything before it says I don't know anymore what my state is so where the
green icon on the yellow icon will
42:28
come back in gray a little bit related to this is also the ability to add say a
42:37
sound file when a soft stop occurs so right now the only thing with yeah the
42:45
see x500 the newest diana platform is that when you have a change in model
42:52
from initialize and buy or whatever that's also the lights condition on the
42:58
color strip the LED strip above the machine is changing colors but yeah if
43:03
you don't watch to that will you busy on the table cleaning skirts or whatever then
you
43:10
don't see that of course that's why we can also now if you connect a kind of
43:15
some loss or something like that to your x800 computer then that out of that
43:21
sound blaster a sound can come when you go in in soft stop I have added here
43:28
enough it sounds like like this but of
43:34
course any sound also a little bit related to the color management is that
43:42
right now also if you go to the system manager and you look to the profiles
43:47
that you'll see that also now the profiles will have a last modification
43:52
date so whenever automatic systems which create a ICC profiles on the run then
44:00
you at least you can verify here when that last when the last time it is that
44:07
it happened that such a profile must be made so you have a better overview of
what's going on another feature which
44:15
has been added in 7.0 has to do with metadata so first of all let's take this
44:23
job the first thing is is maybe an easy one barcode with QR codes have been
44:32
modified such where you can at now size by default the size is automatic and as
44:40
a result the the size of your QR code will change depending on the data so if
44:46
you have for example a small amount of data like this you will get a small work
44:57
order as you can see over here this is a small barcode
45:02
if on the other hand you have a lot of data and you would create the barcode
45:10
then the border will be larger it's
45:18
increased in size now sometimes in a design you don't like that you sometimes you
like that a barcode has a fixed size
45:27
so it can be positioned in in your design in in a more fixed way because
45:35
over time it's going bigger and smaller it can be annoying so how to do that well
you have to define the size here in
45:42
instead of Auto choose size you think that will fit for the data you're gonna
45:49
supply so if I choose a size which is too small and I would have a lot of data
45:56
and I try to generate QR code in this size 21 by 21 then you might get an an
46:05
error an error that says that actually for the length of 44 characters in this
46:13
case this data and the size of 20 by 24 this kind of yeah security level 0 and
46:22
well actually you can only add 17 characters and not more if you choose an
46:33
order size let's say 33 by 33 it might
46:38
fit so let's see what this makes yeah
46:43
this one will fit as you can see but if I add the security level 2 level 3 for
46:50
example and then I will try again it will again not work because for security
46:57
3 you need actually make way more data and that means that only for 33 by 33
47:06
size can at 34 characters and not more since
47:13
I have in my fixed call here 44 characters it simply will not fit so
47:21
actually the the the amount of data that you can supply for particular size is
47:28
limited related also with the security level with also the characters
47:34
themselves numbers and and and and things might maybe have an impact on
47:40
that so but anyway right now in this case there is not a prediction in advance you
47:46
have to run the the metadata module and
47:52
see if for that data you supply indeed
47:58
you have sufficient size defined you know so unfortunately right now the
48:05
software is not made like that but if you select a particular size like for example
25 by 25 that it automatically
48:13
recalculates what the maximum amount of character set is that you can use of
characters that you can use for this
48:20
particular security level they don't have done that so fortunately you will have to
try it out and yourself by an
48:27
easy sis to give sufficient big data in a fixed coder try to run update mock-up
48:34
and see if you get an exception or a problem an error actually and in this
48:41
case it says so so you see that the maximum length of a 25 by 25 is actually
48:48
14 so in that case when you would go to 14 characters
48:59
these are 14 characters it should work and in it it works so that is being
49:08
added the size of a QR code also what has been added is the possibility to
49:15
give now a color which is linked to the Pantone colors in the early days you
49:21
could only select sign and green magenta red and white and stuff like that so the
49:28
classic colors that were selectable but yeah what if in your job you have
49:36
particular Pantone colors well the only way how you could do that in the early days
was to go to custom and then search
49:44
on your Pantone so what you do you open your color forecaster and then you try
49:52
to measure yeah and you try to see what
49:58
the color is of that particular that particular Pantone for this particular
instance and then you get the
50:06
percentages there and if you just copy paste and these percentages into your
50:11
CMYK values over here then you were well having the same color as any file
50:18
however when you then re rip the file with different output profiles because
50:24
in the meantime maybe things are changed and then that color is changing again and
and then you have to update your
50:31
metadata once more so in order to fix this problem there is now the possibility to
select current and then
50:39
you select your particular color like for example this Pantone and when you
50:45
have this selected and you update then it gets
50:53
the particular barcode in the same
50:59
Bunton color as defined in the other elements in your job so if you now
51:05
would change the output profile and you would rip it again and this color would
shift a little bit
51:11
then also the color of your back order will shift in the same way makes it much
51:16
easier a small extra feature on this is all so that you can besides selecting a
51:24
current for foreground you can also go to custom and in this case you know that
51:32
you could do similar key values as before but if you have selected extra
51:37
plates like in this job where exact and white is been added as an extra plate
51:44
for fifth station it is possible to also define an amount of that so let's say
51:51
30% for exact and white now if that
51:57
would not be enough you could even add extra plates particularly for may you
metadata so if you would have for
52:06
example an extra color available purely for the metadata then you can add there
52:12
an extra plate let's say maybe exact on a micro cotton or if you add that then
52:21
you can say okay I want let's say 10% or
52:27
let's take 90% of microtonal on top of it so that's an extra feature you could
52:34
add on these two to add sufficient of extra output for that now all these
52:42
features are now demonstrated on bar code but if you would have just a
52:48
rectangle definition like this one then also all those things apply can define a
52:55
current with the particular Pantone you can define a custom with extra plate all
53:02
those things are also available just like that as explained with our
53:10
course also four rectangles did this applies in metadata they also added an
53:17
extra feature and an ease to add pictures so if I would go to another G
53:27
up here so to add a picture let's go to this job over here you know you can add
53:34
a picture in the early days by paging at putting a page element on the system but
53:41
right now the option picture is being introduced in the 7.0 software so just
53:48
add a picture and now you can go for a fixed picture it should be JPEG you can
53:57
open here the file go to the default location and select a picture now the
54:05
default location by the way where is that if you go to the restore resources
54:12
and then you have 31 because all these options that I just will talk about is
54:19
actually an option which is called 41 and then you have pictures that that is
actually default location but what you
54:27
also can do though at this picture if you don't want to add your pictures in
54:37
this very one location you just can have just a picture which is together with
54:44
the file so if you seen in the job explorer itself see I also added here
54:51
the picture together with a file jpg file and I just typed in the name there
54:58
you don't need to add a path or whatever that's does the normal location if you
55:04
don't go for an update and it will probably complain because or at least it will
not show you anything because that
55:11
picture is not processed yet so but if I now would processor save this
55:18
very smart reschedule it's gonna process this this any violent allies file by
55:28
going to my preview and you see that
55:36
every time with every page this picture is being added is that easy to add just
55:42
one picture and like I said it should be a JPEG or in the future it will also or
55:50
now at least its supports also TIFF file and a PDF file these are the three types
55:55
of files its supports right now but there is more options possible you can
56:02
also select instead of just one fixed picture you can also select a folder in
56:10
that case if I go to the default location this is the folder I want to
56:17
add an in this folder what's in there well let's open this
56:25
this is the content of that folder it's just a whole bunch of little pictures in
56:33
total we have 40 items in there and if I
56:38
now process this save smarter schedule
56:45
it should only process the metadata
56:52
done you will get this and let's see how that looks like so you see here at the
57:00
bottom every time a picture like that changes on every sheet a different
57:12
picture
57:21
okay there's also another option instead
57:27
of choosing a folder you can also choose a file now we become more complicated so
57:36
I'm gonna switch over to a different job
57:42
so what I did over here is to add a source of file which I change on page
57:50
level and I create me a file a kind of database let's say and I call that
57:55
database data pictures and if I open that database so let's go through it
58:06
via Explorer then it looks like this this is just nothing more than numbers 0
58:16
0 1 0 0 2 and so on I created this ones I think find Excel
58:22
and exporting it it's just a list of numbers not in wash and I'm now going to
58:32
use that database to select my pictures so I'm gonna use a template which looks
58:38
a little bit like this so I'm gonna use the folder doodle and I'm going to
58:44
select one by one a JPEG which is called
58:50
diddle underscore and then percent one which percent one is Ashley the numbers
58:57
coming from my database so if you look
59:03
to the folder then have indeed here a folder which is called diddle and the
59:08
names of my jpg are called diddle underscore number two JPEG and
59:16
the numbers are actually going up from 0 0 1 0 0 2 0 0 3 and so on up to 40 this
59:25
is actually the folder with the pictures in it and we're going to use now a
59:31
database to select pictures I want okay to to
59:39
make it more interesting I'm gonna change now this database slightly so I
59:46
will use the first picture twice so I go
59:52
to my database and I open it with notepad editor in this case I use
59:59
notepad plus plus because I like that because better we're going to use that first
picture I'm gonna use it three
1:00:08
times and the second picture I'm gonna
1:00:18
use it two times I'm gonna save over this file I'm gonna
1:00:26
use now my database where I will follow the values in a database to select the
1:00:36
right pictures okay let's see what that gives me if I every process that job so
1:00:49
and the result will be this if I open the file and see what's going on you
1:00:55
will see that I have this picture one time two time three times and then as
1:01:04
for the fourth paste I have the second picture the fifth page is again the
1:01:10
second picture and as from then I have every time a different picture so
1:01:16
exactly like that was described in the database by selecting the pictures I
1:01:22
want to place on my different pages to make a little bit more clear it was of
course also possible let me duplicate
1:01:31
this one that instead of selecting this kind of
1:01:38
template I just select the template like percent one and even that one is uh not
1:01:46
lonely not needed to placing and I then
1:01:51
edit my database like this I actually
1:01:59
include the full parts in my system so I
1:02:05
say backslash Doodle backslash did rule
1:02:18
underscores zero zero one dot jpg and I
1:02:25
will do this the same for this one that
1:02:31
one this one but then of course here too
1:02:37
and here also to and in here the tree
1:02:43
and so on and so on I'm not going to finish this now because it's too much work but
basically if I
1:02:50
add a full path and I save this one away and use them this entry in my template
1:02:59
as just a percent one it would do exactly the same thing a third method
1:03:07
for adding actually a picture in a database type is not to work with a
1:03:13
folder of pictures but just with a document a PDF document where all those
1:03:21
pictures are inside so let me show you how the document looks like so if I open
1:03:27
this valuable pictures document as PDF then this is Ashley just 40 pages with
1:03:36
on every page a different image if I now select that same database but in this
1:03:45
case the database is again just numbers nothing more than that so I'll show you
again in just this
1:03:53
database it's just a list of numbers in
1:04:00
this case I chose the database like 0 0 3 0 0 2 0 0 1 so the 1 2 between dealer
1:04:09
iran's order and i'm gonna select now
1:04:15
this whole PDF that the other is of course everything and the PDF index I
1:04:21
use my wild cards so actually the PDF index indicates which page of the PDF
1:04:28
will be used as picture to place on your documents and it will just follow my
1:04:36
database I'm gonna process this now
1:04:41
again I'm gonna scale it down to 50% to save it to disk base but basically I'm
1:04:48
gonna process this and see what's going to happen then so it's finished
1:04:53
let me see what happens I'm gonna open the file in inspector and in the same
1:05:04
time I am also gonna open the database itself of pictures so let me see what
1:05:16
happens so as you see as you see on the
1:05:22
first page I have this picture that picture is this one page 3 page 3 which
1:05:31
was selected on the next page I have this picture which is picture two on the
1:05:38
next one I have picture 1 and on the next page I
1:05:44
have picture for exactly like the
1:05:50
database describes the pictures will be taken from the PDF file and place on the
1:05:56
individual pages besides the variability about pictures
1:06:04
where you can add on every sheet a different picture they're also two extra
1:06:10
features being added on the 7.0 software
1:06:16
the features we're talking about is variations patterns and also bone like a
1:06:23
collet now what are those two options doing I'm gonna demonstrate is on next
1:06:29
job what I have as input file have actually just a PDF file which looks
1:06:37
like this just a basic sheet the sheets with the exact logo and x800 logo on the
1:06:46
bottom if we dressed nothing special and what are we going to do right now is to
add some variability there so you want
1:06:54
to bring many of these sheets but every sheet should look different instead of
placing on average sheet a different
1:07:00
picture that's all a feature we just explained already you're going to do something
different what are we gonna
1:07:07
have as assets is actually this one first of all we have a kind of job which
1:07:13
looks like this is just a pattern is
1:07:18
actually a very verbal pattern there's
1:07:24
no area over here where you see a repetition of the same stuff everywhere
1:07:30
where you look it's different what we're gonna do is from this large picture we
1:07:36
can just make some cutouts and when you're going to place those cutouts on our
sheet we just have showed
1:07:43
you so we can create many kind of cutouts and depends on what we do on the
1:07:52
settings we can have many kind of variations there so what we're going to
1:07:59
do is we're gonna go for our job and we're gonna add what we call a pattern
1:08:05
so one of the options we have right now is bottom side pictures also pattern
1:08:11
and what are we going to select our spectrum is actually our PDF that PDF I
1:08:19
just showed you our top PDF so it's actually this one here this PDF with
1:08:26
that a special kind of design is to be
1:08:32
placed on our job but not just like that what we gonna do is first of all scale
1:08:38
it up already 600 percent because we want that this picture we're gonna we're
1:08:44
gonna make it larger so we can cut out multiple samples from it and we're gonna
1:08:50
define an area which is the size of the inner sight of our sheet 180 millimeters
1:08:57
by 224 so if you would go to the job itself this is nothing more than the
1:09:05
size the size over here from this area and up to there this is size you're
1:09:13
talking about it's this so I never come
1:09:20
to a size of 180 by 225 as you can see
1:09:31
over here so 180 by 224 in this case
1:09:39
does the size of our position and we're gonna put it live it downwards so Center
1:09:45
Center but apparently we have a four millimeter dropping we have to do on
1:09:50
that image now on top of that if it
1:09:56
would just be this then that image would
1:10:01
have always the same color obviously because job itself is it's just one
1:10:10
color but the job is defined not just by a particular CMYK but it's defined by a
1:10:19
particular there's a spots definition so the color of this job is not
1:10:24
you okay but is a particular spot course called spots now what were you going to
1:10:31
do with our job is to very this this spots so we have a color mapping which
1:10:39
allows us to change the spots definition to whatever is written in the color book
1:10:45
and we can add these things so we with okay these spots and we cannot define it
1:10:54
a particular color coming from the color book and let's open that color book that
1:11:04
color book is looking like this this is the color book begins with a point on
1:11:09
warm warm grey but then they added extra course on it and I can add as many as I
1:11:15
lied over here every extra instance is an item in the color book and so every
1:11:24
color that is defined here will be one of the viability in in this image so if
1:11:32
I process this then I get indeed this dis effects so every part of cut out of
1:11:41
this large image will be different so with a different area of our large seed
1:11:47
file a large pattern file but on top of that it also is always a different color
1:11:55
in that color comes from that color book okay that is one variability but we can
1:12:03
do also something else besides just having a large image we cut in small
1:12:09
pieces and place it somewhere on the job which we call pattern we can also do
1:12:15
something else and that's what we call pawn and pawn is actually a little bit
dealer around in pawn we actually have a
1:12:23
small file and in this case we choose to work with a PDF
1:12:29
selection and I will show you what the PDF looks like this is what a PF looks like
1:12:36
it's just a little starch that's star is
1:12:41
also created with the Pumped on green see so again this little star which is
1:12:48
just like an yeah green but actually this dream here is not just a particular
1:12:54
Sirica definition in my PDF file but just a named color again okay so this
1:13:02
star is being used in our job over here so this is the star we select we're
1:13:09
gonna scale it just one time and we're
1:13:17
gonna vary eight again here this pant on green see according to our color book we
1:13:24
could have chosen a different color book but in this case which selected the same
one the number of variations that we
1:13:31
like would be 600 but of course with this kind of size or area we have we
1:13:40
will place that star on many different locations and the system calculates that
1:13:46
we can have 14,000 for different positions in relation with a different
1:13:51
cause because we also can flip and rotate is this item if we will not flip
1:13:59
or rotate the item then actually we have way less possibilities but by flipping a
1:14:05
rotating we have way more possibilities but we only need six hundred out of the
1:14:12
fourteen thousand four hundred positions if we process this file then we we get
1:14:18
this we get actually that that star here
1:14:26
it is is always positioned at a different location of our job and always
1:14:34
have a same a different color as you see
1:14:40
acquaint to our definition which is in the
1:14:47
core variation lookup table so there's also different kind of variability but
1:14:53
you see the difference is that with pattern you need a larger file to have a
1:14:59
cut out of it place on the cheat while with bond we have a smaller file which
1:15:06
is positioned at different locations on your sheet twice we have shown you the
1:15:14
extra option to change the color in the in the in the selection but that doesn't
1:15:21
have to be you can have always the same color if you want to do so you don't
1:15:26
have to use the color on color book to change by the way if in your original
1:15:32
star star PDF file there is no Pantone or named core
1:15:38
defined then you cannot really really use core core on mapping and that is not
1:15:43
so possible so we need to have you need to have a in that file a particular
1:15:51
named course on top of that you could also on pump go for a different kind of
1:15:58
a folder structure or a file with database live the same as with picture
1:16:03
explanation at the same philosophy to give you also a whole bunch of extra
1:16:09
flexibility there so these are the two
1:16:14
extra viability so besides of just placing a picture somewhere you can also
1:16:21
work with patterns you can work with little objects that we place and on top
1:16:30
of that you can work with coral and colorant mapping where you can even vary
1:16:36
the color of the objects all these options so pattern pong and picture are
1:16:44
all together in one option which we call very one so it's not free of charge an
1:16:50
extra complexity or extra feature which
1:16:55
has been added on top of all those viability we just had
1:17:01
is the use of smart labels smart labels is something which is a service which
1:17:08
need to be paid extra for it's something added on top of it of the standard very
1:17:16
one but it's a little bit related to it the idea is to work with metadata but on
1:17:24
connect the printer with a service which comes from from somewhere else from the
1:17:29
cloud let's say to supply the data so what we're working with right now with which
we have already established is
1:17:38
kind of joint venture with rough Moore which is a service which allows us to
1:17:46
connect to the cloud and to drag information from it to create unique
1:17:56
labels and so instead of using metadata bark orders for example but you don't
1:18:02
use file or fixed or generators that are
1:18:08
the contents sources we know so far we use service and that's something new
1:18:15
have been added and there could be in the future many more services to come
1:18:21
but for the time being we only have one which is the rough more smart label
solution by upm rough l'attaque so a
1:18:30
subsidiary of upm is actually rough Moore and they create a service kind of
1:18:37
web service where you can disturb people end users or or yeah let's say marketing
1:18:47
or design viewers can register to it and they can create what they call a
1:18:54
campaign and of course for history and
1:18:59
for creating a campaign they probably will have to pay some kind of money but
1:19:04
anyway once they have is just and created the campaign then we can fill in
1:19:10
here the campaign ID and fast passphrase which is actually
1:19:17
the security called let's say to be able to access that information and as soon
1:19:24
as I've been set up correctly then the x800 can print the data which is coming from
1:19:29
the service and unfortunately I cannot show you that here because I don't have
1:19:36
connection to those service devices but the idea is that when you done create so
1:19:44
labels and then every label will be equipped with in this case it's a bark
1:19:50
order but it could also be a text coming from the cloud service more about that
1:19:56
maybe we can get from from a movie from an explanation which is given by Aaron
1:20:02
van bowel and he explains a little more about the marketing idea behind that
1:20:08
rough more service a small addition on metadata is that right now after
1:20:15
preprint when you add for example a barcode to be connected to kind of
1:20:22
finishing the equipment which needs the size of your job then you can now add
1:20:30
this by going to a special color on
1:20:36
speech info where you can go down to the sheet Heights which you can now define
1:20:44
not only in pixels but also in millimeters in engines in Adobe points
1:20:50
in feeds in meter in yards so you have way more options right now to add so if
1:20:58
you finish in equipment needs the size in millimeters then this cannot be done
1:21:03
and there may be a couple of small additions that we have made that you can
1:21:08
now also add on finishing addition of cruise control marks that you can add at
1:21:15
a particular position and also some calibration change marks don't
1:21:20
correction change marks all those things can be added
1:21:25
on a sheet and also what output is
1:21:31
concerned the auto test prints can be as well a normal test strip but can also be
1:21:38
test marked but that's more for our registration control system on the duplex
machine where they have an inline
1:21:45
camera inspection system for registration so that can be also been
1:21:51
added as test mark and then also on finishing you can add a pre-printed
1:21:59
stock mark which is not only the classic one XY prep in stock market but also XY
1:22:06
3 pre printed stock mark the XY 3 prep in stock mark is specially designed for
1:22:13
our fusion system where it needs to have this two dimensional plus an extra
1:22:20
information on it as that's why it's called three to be able to synchronize the the
whites let's say from our fusion
1:22:28
to our printers information another nice feature which has been added is the
1:22:34
daily maintenance feature what is this the well the machine can only print a
1:22:42
nice quality if we are guaranteed that the maintenance the daily maintenance is
1:22:48
performed in a correct way and that's why we want to assist and help the
1:22:54
customer the operator in doing so every day the daily maintenance pop-up window
1:23:01
will arrive and this will allow the operator to verify its cleaning states
1:23:07
of the Machine he can see the time he lost cleans recommended cleaning when a
1:23:16
mandatory cleaning when here are also
1:23:21
some general cleaning actions how to clean what kind of materials that they need to
clean and this cleaning is
1:23:28
mandatory now this is not just an information sheet it's really a procedure and it
can run this procedure
1:23:35
by pressing the play button here and the system will then request to do a
1:23:42
print test file he has to click on it and the test file will be placed in the
1:23:48
print queue automatically the machine
1:23:53
will start to print we just confirm this
1:23:59
the job will be printed and the operator will have to check the cleanness
1:24:12
once the job is being printed extra information comes in the procedure he
1:24:19
will see what the items are that he needs to check for darker and lighter
1:24:25
lines sharp fine lines vertical white lines and if you see doesn't see any of
1:24:33
these effects then he has to select the print result is okay but when he sees
1:24:39
for example darker and lighter lines then he needs to analyze his sample and
1:24:47
he can see if it's a little bit similar to what he sees and he also reads on the
1:24:56
test file what he can do about it once he finishes everything and cleans
1:25:02
everything then he can print the test file once more
1:25:16
and now he can verify if his cleen's actions has improved the quality and if
1:25:22
so and he selects that prints result is now okay then he can finish up this
1:25:28
procedure the last cleaned items will be recorded and everything can be closed
1:25:39
now the daily maintenance procedure can also been accessed from the maintenance
1:25:45
tab daily maintenance and he can always
1:25:50
restart his procedure whenever he requires to if the last
1:25:56
cleaned timing and the recommended clean ads is still in the in the future then
1:26:05
the cleaning actions are ok and also this is visible under cruise control the
1:26:12
daily maintenance cruise control item will stay green the daily maintenance
1:26:18
cruise control icon will maintain clean if the time is before the recommended
1:26:25
cleaning at the moment it will become yellow if it's between the recommended
1:26:31
cleaning time and the mandatory cleaning time and will become red if the time
1:26:39
right now is after the mandatory cleaning time how often you have to
1:26:46
clean can be set in a pristine setting if you go to system prints then you will
1:26:55
see at the bottom the daily maintenance parameters you can set the amount of
1:27:01
hours before cleaning miss recommended default set to 8 a can set amount of
1:27:07
hours before cleaning is mandatory default is set to 10 but you can manipulate
these values as you like so
1:27:16
this is a little bitter a small well small sorry I think close to one and
1:27:22
half hour introduction on what 7.0 will bring us if things were not clear you
1:27:28
can always or send us a mail for clarification of
1:27:33
course the manuals will be written and will be published - so everything will
1:27:39
become I think clear in the long run 7.0 will not be released today I mean
1:27:47
speaking now in March 2020 but will be released later on with our new machines
1:27:55
thank you
