Art can be defined as creative works that require imagination or technical skill. It includes visual arts like painting, sculpture, photography, as well as performance arts, dance, music, poetry, and theater. Art can be classified based on its functions. Motivated or functional art has a practical purpose, like weaving, architecture, and furniture making. Non-motivated art, also called non-functional art, includes painting, music, and sculpture which do not have a practical use. The common functions of art are personal expression for artists, social influence on behavior and culture, spiritual representation in religious structures, education, political commemoration, and providing physical comfort through tools and containers.
