are
strange, no countries foreign’ as the poet wants to emphasize on the fact that all the people
living on this Earth are the same and that we have created distinctions by erecting borders
and fences, different languages, etc. While we are alive, we walk on the same Earth and upon
our death, we will lie in our graves in the same earth. He draws another similarity that we all
enjoy good food during peace and starve during war and in winter time. We all have similar
hands which we use to do a lot of hard work. All of us have eyes which remain open when we
are awake and close when we are asleep. He reminds the reader that whenever we hate
someone, we cheat and hate ourselves. Also, when we pick up weapons against someone, we
pollute the Earth and make it impure with the huge mounds of dead bodies strewn on it. He
is attempting to remove the borders from the Earth which have been erected to separate
different countries.
the poet asks the reader to remember something. He says that we should keep in mind that
the people of another country, whom we think to be our enemies, have been bestowed by
God with similar appearance like us
Whenever war happens, it leads to a lot of bloodsheds, fire, and death. These dead bodies
accumulate on the Earth and it make it impure. The fire of war which erupts, the smoke which

the air

winnows, that means he sifts all the people and those people who are weak fall and get
crushed. The poet has kept the wind on a pedestal. He is comparing the wind to God. He says
that wind is God and we praise wind every day. He adds that everything that is weak gets
finished off in the face of the strong wind.
The poet persuades the reader not to destroy trees and equates it with “killing” a human
being. Merely cutting the trunk of the tree does not kill it. When a tree is cut, the sap flows out
just like a wounded man bleed. Once the wound heals, new branches and tiny leaves grow
from there which grow into trees.
To destroy a tree, it has to be uprooted. The roots which are white in color and are damp due
to the moisture that they get from the soil are hidden in a pit in the Earth

The poem is a musing on the nature of sleep and its capacity to promote emotional and
spiritual well-being. The poem’s speaker recalls falling asleep deeply and waking up with their
spirit “locked” in a serene, dreamless condition. The poet is full of grief and regret that he had
taken things for granted and did not fear the fact that one day death could separate him from
his beloved. The poem’s main message is that sleep can relieve stress and rejuvenate the
mind and spirit, allowing the individual to forget about their problems and anxieties. he

been buried in the earth. She will assimilate into the earth and is rotating along with the
earth.

narrator’s family is forced to move into temporary housing, he nostalgically recalls his childhood
home that was burned down and shared a great sense of loss. But time goes on and he begins to
appreciate the new family life he found with the memories of his old home returning too. As his old
memories were regained so was his old home, in which he now finds himself happier than ever – thus
allowing him to call this novel justifiable. The way she quickly starts the process of resettling by

This account of the life and personality of the famous scientist Einstein gives us the message that a

people. The narrator is a homoeopath doctor who is struggling with his poverty and sluggish practice. He
also hopes to marry and lead a happy life. Sudden arrival of a snake on the scene turns him pale with fear,
but somehow, he manages to keep his calm. Meanwhile, attracted by the mirror, the snake decides to
ignore him. The narrator takes this opportunity to make good his escape. The snake appears to be almost
as vain as the doctor himself. An allied theme in the story is how crises make people turn to God for help.
She feared her father greatly. She thought that he was hard-hearted and strict. She always avoided him. He
often rebuked her. Children take time to understand the actions of their elders. Till then, they tend to
develop a negative opinion and sometimes even distrust. Her father’s act of upbringing his little child was
unfit and the instance of his hitting Kezia for ruining his very important speech sheets was unjustifiably
wrong. Her father would always give her instructions but never made any effort to know what she
expected from him. She wanted his love and company. As a little girl, she could not build up self-
confidence to feel free to talk. The entire story moves around her expectations. So, the title is apt and
appropriate
When the sky is covered with dark clouds and it starts raining, everybody feels thrilled. One wishes to lie in
a cozy bed and thousands of fancies rush through his mind. It is most joyful to enjoy listening to the music
of the pattering sound of the rain-drops on the shingles of the roof. The poet expresses his love for nature
and its beauty. Through several metaphors, the poet shows that the drops of rain falling on the shingles of
the roof sends a train of thoughts running in his mind. He is reminded of the way his mother used to bid
him and his siblings a good night and put them to sleep. The poet connects his present with his past
through the memories revived by the rain. The theme of the poem is the healing power of rain. The
musical sound of raindrops falling on the rooftop at night has the ability to revive sweet memories and
rouse fancies in an otherwise busy mind. It triggers ‘a thousand dreamy fancies’ in his mind and thousands
of memories come alive. In particular, the memory of the poet’s mother putting her children to sleep at
night is indelible in his mind. Every time it rains, the poet relives the golden moments of his childhood.
He knows that a place of natural beauty and peace like Innisfree makes the human soul light. One enjoys
life fully in the lap of nature. It reveals the poet’s nostalgia for the peace and tranquility he enjoyed on the
Lake Isle during his childhood. This desire to lead a simple life on the quiet island also presents the poet’s
dislike for humdrum of life in cities and towns. So deep are the emotions of the poet that he can, in his
mind, hear the waves striking against the banks of the Lake. A simple life with only a few simple needs will
be more delightful than the complicated and hectic life in the city. The title makes us curious about the
dreamy and picturesque place and we get anxious to know what the poet has to say about it.
