ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

As we wrap up our Haunted Story writing unit, we will transition into Nonfiction. Students used their knowledge of the Elements of Fiction to compose their original narrative stories with a haunted theme. While we will write more stories this school year, this will be put on hold for our Nonfiction unit. In this unit we will explore more expository writing, introduce persuasive writing, and complete an author study on Gary Paulsen. I can use the Elements of Nonfiction to compose expository, persuasive essays, and biographies.

We have instead been emailing them out to you and putting them up on the schools website. It has come to our attention once again that not everyone is receiving the emails or has access to the internet. Please return this slip to Mrs. Lee signed if you would like a paper copy of the newsletters and the weekly assignment email.
