840/2 COMPUTER STUDIES PRACTICAL (Paper 2) August 2023 2 hours 30 Minutes ‘JINJA JOINT EXAMINATIONS BOARD (JJEB) UGANDA CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION COMPUTER STUDIES 840/2 PRACTICAL PAPER 2. Hours 30 Minutes INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES: a) This paper is made up of two Sections A, and B respectively. b) Section A contains one question. This question is compulsory. ¢) Section B contains three questions. Answer any two questions from this section. @) Each candidate is provided with a new blank compact disk. @) Each candidate must produce a hardcopy for each of his/her work to accompany the compact discs. Software help wizard must not be used. © 2023 Jinja Joint Examinations Board Turn Over 2 SECTION A (40 MARKS) This section is compulsory. Answer all the questions 1. (a).Using a word processing application, type the following text and save it as your name and personal number (05 marks) ‘The new lower secondary curriculum is a competence based curriculum (CBC) which has brought about learner centered environment in secondary schools. It is aimed at solving many of the problems associated with a knowledge curriculum where the teacher knows it all, The teacher in this curriculum is a facilitator whose role is to prepare and assign learners with class activities that provoke the learners into a discussion environment. The facilitator then assesses the learner's discussions and then harmonizes. ‘Through handling various tasks and embracing the use of cross cutting issues, learners develop a lot of values and generic skills such as; * Critical thinking and Problem solving * ICT Proficiency * Collaboration and team work In this curriculum learner are to be assessed by their teachers during the learning to evaluate the level of achievement basing on the different competences. This is done through activities of integration and projects and this will be followed by end of cycle assessment i. / Add an appropriate heading to the text and enhance it with font color mode!
