Topic’s
- 5’s
- Battery System
- Starting System
- Ignition System
- Charging System

THE FIRST TOPIC IS 5’S

Type of 5’s
-Sort
-Set
-Shine
-Standardize
-Sustain

5’s in Japanese:

Sort- Seiri
Set- Seiton
Shine- Seisu
Standardize- Seiketsu
Sustain- Shitsuke

The 5’s is very important in all places it’s help to our area clean and easy to work if we
apply a 5’s in our working area or in the shop and also in our home.

Battery – I’ve learned in battery is, the battery is a lead-acid storage battery that is an
electrochemical device that produces voltage and delivers electrical current.
And I remember the types of automotive batteries:
1. Lead-Acid
2. AGM
3. Lithium-Ion
4. Gel

Common Battery Problems

1. Corrosion
2. Discharge
3. Dirt and Debris
4. Overheating

These are the common problems of the battery if you don’t have maintenance.

And also, the parts of the battery.

Parts of Automotive Battery

- Case
- Lid
- Terminal Post
- Cell
- Plate Strap
- Plates
- Envelope Separator
- Anode
- Pure Head
Starting System

I’ve learned in the starting system, this system forces the engine to crank with an
electric motor and starts the engine. And that’s why the starting system is important.
COMPONENTS OF STARTING SYSTEM:
1. Battery
2. Ignition switch
3. Starter

Charging System

I’ve learned about the charging system, this system that keeps a charge in your
battery and provides electrical energy for the radio, lights, and other features while the
car is running.
And these are the components of charging system:
1.Battery

2. Fuses
3. Ignition Switch
4. Indicator
5. Alternator
6. Voltage regulator
Example Diagram of Charging System

Ignition System
In ignition system an internal combustion engine, the ignition system plays a
crucial role in starting and controlling the combustion process. And the purpose of
ignition system is to ignite the air-fuel mixture in a gasoline engine.

Safety rules we should keep on our mind:

1.Keep your mind in your job.
2. The shop is no place to play.
3.Lift by crouching as close to the load as possible.
4.Report any injury immediately.
5.Never carry tools in your pocket.
6.Wear snug fitting clothes.
7.Dont use dull tools.
8.Report damage tools and machinery.
9.Always put a handle on a file before using it.
10.Lase brush to remove chips from machine area.
11.Oily rags should be keep in Self-Closong metals receptacles
12.Never remove guards from the machine.
13.Dont hold small works in your hand.
14.When you enter a new shop, learn immediately where the fire extinguishers and fire
exit are located.
15.Gas flames, mist from paint spray and fine dust can cause explosions.
16.Chisels, punches and similar tools should be clear of burrs.
17.Never use a hard hammer in machine, tempered or hardened surface.
18.When using a wrench, always pull never push.
19.Whenever you are doubt about correct safety rules, ask your foreman or instructor.
And, this is the results of my quizzes in the past days.
