Human Responsibility for the Environment
The environment is the one thing on which all of mankind is dependent. Our ecosystem
is one of the most complicated and vulnerable networks on the planet. The environment
encompasses almost everything observed, including the air, trees, water, and everything else
people require to exist. Our planet is our home, and we must take significant steps to ensure that
we are doing all possible to safeguard it. To safeguard our environment, we, the people, must do
The environment, as we know it, is a lovely place that God has given us to care for;
nevertheless, the environment is deteriorating with time. Turning on the news, it appears like
there is constantly a large fire someplace that destroys forests, depletes oxygen, and wipes off
large animal populations from their habitats. For certain things, nature must take its own course
and manage things the way they were intended, but God requires us to preserve, restore, and
care for the environment and those who live in it. In Isaiah 24:4-6, God says that if the Earth is
polluted by its inhabitants and a curse burns the Earth, the inhabitants will be burnt up as well.
That, combined with the Earth and its environment being God's creation that He entrusted to us
to care for because He loves us, should be sufficient. However, the ecosystem is still suffering
as a result of a lack of care, but God says that it is our job and obligation to care for the earth,
The first thing that springs to mind when considering environmental protection is
climate change. It is rare to have a discussion about environmental concerns without mentioning
climate change. Climate change is the most serious environmental concern today, and the
environment is the sole choice for all living creatures on Earth. What exactly is climate change?
Climate change is best defined as "a long-term shift in the average circumstances — such as
temperature and rainfall — in an area." Glaciers blanketed most of the United States 20,000
years ago. We now have a warmer climate and fewer glaciers in the United States” (para. 2).
However, a variety of factors have been identified as the cause of climate change, with
scientists believing that growing numbers are the result of human activity. Droughts, increasing
hot temperatures, bug outbreaks, and a variety of other phenomena are all caused by climate
change. Increased heat and dryness, both of which contribute to flames. The heat has an
influence on city health, agricultural productivity, water supply shortages, and even health
concerns. Flooding and erosion are two further consequences of climate change on coastal
areas. The implications of climate change extend far beyond temperature rises; these issues can
Not to suggest that all of these issues are the result of today's massive amount of
contemporary technology, but the consequences have become worse with time. Climate change
has been an issue since the dawn of time. “In the 1800s, tests showing that human-produced
carbon dioxide (CO2) and other gases may gather in the atmosphere and insulate Earth were
greeted with more interest than concern,” according to the History Channel (para. 1). Later in
the text, it is said that carbon dioxide research would provide the first proof of the global
warming idea in the late 1950s. People suggested that humans may impact rainfall effects by
chopping down trees and other similar things in climate change ideas dating back to the ancient
Greeks. There was a new worldwide panic in the early 1970s, global cooling, which was the
idea that pollution would block sunlight and cause the globe to freeze. “Over the last century,
the average surface temperature of the Earth has increased by roughly 1.0o F,” according to The
Whitehouse Website (para. 1). This evidence lends credence to the notion that climate change is
accelerating over time. With this knowledge, we must do all possible to safeguard the
environment. Speaking up is the first of dozens of simple steps that may be performed to
minimize climate change. Speaking up and getting one's voice heard is so easy in today's
society; there are millions of social platforms where individuals may speak out and learn about
climate change concerns. There is a lot of energy being utilized in a world with 7 billion people,
which means we must use it carefully. Climate change may be mitigated by doing simple things
like switching to energy-saving lightbulbs, washing clothing in cold water, and installing a
programmable thermostat. Greening one's commute is not only straightforward and beneficial to
the environment, but it is also less expensive. Taking the bus, biking, driving an electric vehicle,
and using public transportation are all strategies to decrease pollution and improve climate
change.
Climate change is one of several major issues wreaking havoc on the environment. We,
as humans, must go to tremendous lengths to defend what is, after all, our home. A better, safer,
and more efficient environment is simple to build. It is our responsibility as inhabitants of this
lovely planet to safeguard it. It is our responsibility to safeguard the environment in order to
make our lives and the lives of the creatures around us happy.
