Assumptions about art often
underpin our understanding and
appreciation of creative
expressions.
Note: These assumptions can vary
widely based on cultural,
historical, and personal contexts.
1. ART IS UNIVERSAL
Art immortalizes man and his marvelous achievements.
Literature and history provide us with all evidences about the
timelessness and universal value of art and its unique contribution
to mankind.
It constitutes one of the oldest and one of the most important
means of expression develop by man.
Art is the main means of communication that connect the world.
No matter what era or location, art exist. That is why it is universal.
2. ART IS SUBJECTIVE
Art is often perceived as subjective,
meaning that interpretations and
evaluations of artworks vary from person to
person.
What one individual finds compelling or
beautiful, another may not appreciate in
the same way.
3. ART IS AN EXPRESSION
Art is assumed to be a form of expression,
allowing artists to convey emotions, ideas, and
experiences through their chosen medium.
Viewers often expect artworks to communicate
something meaningful about the human
condition or the artist's perspective.
4. ART IS AESTHETICS
There is an assumption that art possesses
aesthetic qualities, such as beauty,

creation.

All art involve experience.
Experience is the actual doing of
something.
The perfection of art appreciation
will never be possible without
experiencing art.
