Objectives:
To learn practically the various techniques involved in animation and image editing.

Exercises using flash:


• WORKING WITH TOOLS.
o Draw few different shapes using the tools available.
o Reshape some of the shapes which you have created. Hint : Using the Arrow
tool.
o Design a background for a web page.
• USING TOOLS & CREATING ANIMATIONS.
o Design few figures (Cartoons, animals etc.)
o Reshape the figures for animation. Animate any one of the figure, designed by
you. Hint : Using the Modify - > & Frame-by-frame animation.
• MORE ON ANIMATIONS.
o 1.Design few shapes using lice, circle and rectangle, in different layers. Create
o animations of these shapes. Hint : Motion tween.
o 2.. Draw a shape in 1st keyframe and a different shape in 2nd keyframe.
Create an animation. Hint : Shape tween.
• ANIMATION USING LAYER MASK.
o Create a scene (Base of a Sea (under water)). Create few fishes. Animate the
fishes (some in-front of the objects, some behind the objects).
o Create a spot light Animation using the layer mask option.
• ANIMATION USING GUIDE LAYERS.
o Draw a hill side driving path (zig-zag). Show the movement of a CAR on the
path. Hint : Guide Layers.
o Create a puzzle (Show the right path to the LOST KID, to reach his home).
Draw the kid, design few paths. One path among these is the right path.
• ANIMATION USING SHAPE HINTS
o Draw the two shapes given below. Animate the smiley face to the sad face.
Hint : Use shape hints.
• WORKING WITH BUTTONS.
o 1: Create a simple animation. Insert to buttons named “Play” & “Stop”. Give
action to these two buttons as per their name. (Stop will stop the animation
and play will start the animation again).
o 2. Create an animation of text (Welcome to Indira Gandhi National Open
University), in which the text is shown in the screen gradually. Create a
button “Link” and link this button with “www.nmc.ac.in

• ADDING SOUND TO THE ANIMATION.


o Add Sound file to the presentation you have created in session 8 & 9.
o Add few sound files to the Library and create an animation with those
sounds.
o Create a button “Stop” in the animation which you have created in Exercise 1
of session 6 and on-clicking the button, the animation will go to frame
number 18 and stop over there.
