GETTING STARTED
NISSAN INTELLIGENT KEY®
The Nissan Intelligent Key® allows you to lock or
unlock your vehicle and turn on the interior lights.
It is important to make sure the Intelligent Key is
with you (that is, in your pocket or purse).
To lock the vehicle, press the button
on your key fob.
To unlock all doors, press the button
on your key fob.
The Intelligent Key can also be used to
activate the panic alarm by pressing and
holding the button for more than 0.5
seconds. Once activated, the panic alarm and
headlights will stay on for a period of time.
To switch off the panic alarm, press any
button on the Intelligent Key.

POWER SEAT ADJUSTMENTS (if so equipped)


To slide the seat forward or backward, push
the switch forward or backward.
To adjust the angle of the seatback, push the
switch forward or backward.
SEAT LIFTER (driver’s seat)
To adjust the height of the seat cushion,
push the front or rear end of the
switch up or down.
MANUAL LUMBAR SUPPORT (driver’s seat)
To adjust the lumbar area, move the lever
forward or backward.

STARTING/STOPPING THE ENGINE
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Depress the brake pedal.
Move the shift lever to the P (Park) position.
Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
TURNING THE ENGINE OFF
Move the shift lever to the P (Park) position,
apply the parking brake and push the ignition
switch to the OFF position.

OUTSIDE MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH (if so equipped)


The outside mirror control dial is located on the driver's door panel.
To select the left or right mirror,
turn the dial .
Adjust each mirror to the desired position
using the dial .
To prevent accidentally moving the
mirror, move the dial to the center
(neutral) position.

HOMELINK®

HOMELINK® UNIVERSAL TRANSCEIVER (if so equipped)


The HomeLink® Universal Transceiver can learn and consolidate the functions of up
to three different hand-held transmitters, operating items such as garage doors,
property gates, home and office lighting, entry door locks and security systems.

GETTING STARTED
Place the ignition switch in the ON or ACC position (without starting the engine)
when programming Homelink.
To program the HomeLink Universal Transceiver:
• Position the hand-held transceiver 1-3 in (2-8 cm) away from the HomeLink
surface, keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
• Press and hold the desired HomeLink button and the hand-held transmitter
button simultaneously until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly
and then rapidly.
• Both buttons may be released when the indicator light flashes rapidly.
To verify the programming is complete, press and hold the HomeLink button
and observe the indicator light:
• A solid, continuous light indicates the programming is complete and the
HomeLink button will activate your device.
• A blinking light that turns to a solid, continuous light after 2 seconds indicates
additional steps are required to complete the programming.
An additional person may make the remaining steps easier. To complete the
programming process:
• At the receiver of the device that you are programming to the HomeLink
system, press and release the learn or smart button (the name may vary by
manufacturer, but it is usually located near where the hanging antenna wire
is attached to the unit). You have approximately 30 seconds to initiate the
following step.
• Press and hold the programmed HomeLink button for 2 seconds and release.
You may have to repeat the previous two steps up to three times to complete
the programming process. HomeLink should now activate your device.

EMERGENCY CALL (SOS) BUTTON (if so equipped)


The Emergency Call (SOS) feature requires a
NissanConnect® Services subscription.
With a paid subscription, it can be used to call
for assistance in case of an emergency.
To use the feature, push the SOS button
on the overhead console.

HEATER AND AIR CONDITIONER (automatic) (if so equipped)
AUTO BUTTON/DRIVER’S SIDE TEMPERATURE CONTROL DIAL
The automatic mode may be used year-round. Press the AUTO button to
turn the system on, and the system will automatically control the inside
temperature (automatic cooling and/or dehumidified heating), air flow
distribution and fan speed.
Turn the driver’s side temperature control dial left for cooler air or right
for warmer air.
DUAL BUTTON/PASSENGER’S SIDE TEMPERATURE CONTROL DIAL
To turn the passenger's side temperature controls on or off, press
the DUAL button.
Turn the passenger’s side temperature control dial left for cooler air or right
for warmer air.
DEFROSTING FRONT AND SIDE WINDOWS
To turn the system on, press the front defroster button .
Set the temperature control dial and the fan speed button to their
maximum settings.
OUTSIDE MIRROR DEFROSTER SWITCH (if so equipped)
To turn the system on or off, push the outside mirror defroster switch .
The outside mirror defroster automatically turns off after
approximately 15 minutes.
ON•OFF BUTTON
To turn the system on or off, press the ON•OFF button.
FAN SPEED CONTROL BUTTONS
Press the button to the left to decrease fan speed or to the right to
increase fan speed.
To stop air from coming through the vents with the blower off, press the
air recirculation button .

AIR FLOW CONTROL BUTTON
Press the air flow control button to manually control air flow:
Air flows from the center and side vents.
Air flows from the center, side and foot outlets.
Air flows mainly from the foot outlets.
Air flows from the front defroster and foot outlets.
A/C BUTTON
To manually turn the A/C on or off, press the A/C button.
AIR RECIRCULATION BUTTON
Press the air recirculation button to recirculate air inside the vehicle.
The indicator light on the button will illuminate. This system is used to avoid
certain outside odors and to help adjust the inside vehicle temperature
more effectively.
To turn air recirculation off, press the fresh air intake button . This
allows outside air to be drawn into the passenger compartment to prevent
fogging in the front defroster, foot vent or front defroster/foot outlet mode.
The air recirculation mode cannot be activated when the climate control
system is in the front defroster mode .

HEATED SEATS (if so equipped)


Push the or heated seat switch to
heat the seats.
One light illuminated represents the
high setting and one light represents
the low setting.
To turn the heated seats off, push the switch.

HEADLIGHT CONTROL SWITCH
HEADLIGHT CONTROL
Rotate the headlight control switch to the
position to turn on the front parking,
tail, license plate and instrument panel lights.
Rotate the switch to the position to
turn on the headlights.
AUTOLIGHT SYSTEM
The headlights will turn on automatically at
twilight (if so equipped) or in rainy weather
(when the windshield wiper is operated continuously). The system will keep
the headlights on for a period of time after you turn the ignition off and one of
the doors is opened and if this condition is continued, the headlights remain
on for 5 minutes.
To activate the autolight system, turn the headlight control switch to the AUTO
position then push the ignition switch ON. To deactivate the autolight
system, turn the headlight control switch to the OFF position, position
or position .
HIGH BEAM ASSIST (if so equipped)
To activate the High Beam Assist system,
turn the headlight switch to the AUTO
position and push the lever forward .
While the headlights are turned on, the High
Beam Assist indicator light in the meter
will illuminate.
When the vehicle speed lowers to less than
approximately 16 mph (25 km/h), the headlight uses the low beam.
To turn off the High Beam Assist system, turn the headlight switch to the
position or select the low beam position by placing the lever in the
neutral position.
Pulling and releasing the lever flashes the high beams on and off.
FOG LIGHT SWITCH (if so equipped)
The headlights must be on and the low beams selected for the fog
lights to operate.
Turn the switch (inside collar) to the
position to turn on the fog lights.
Turn the switch (inside collar) to the OFF
position to turn off the fog lights.
TURN SIGNAL SWITCH
Move the lever up or down until the turn
signal begins to flash but the lever does not
latch to signal a lane change. Hold the lever
until the lane change is completed.

WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH
MIST
Move the lever to one of the following
positions to operate the windshield wipers:
OFF
Mist (MIST) - One sweep operation of
the front wipers. INT

Intermittent (INT) - The intermittent


LO
speed can be adjusted by rotating the
time control ring to increase or HI
decrease wiper sensitivity.
Low (LO) - Front wipers operate at a
continuous low-speed.
High (HI) - Front wipers operate at a
continuous high-speed.
Pull the lever toward you to activate
the front washer. The wipers will
operate several times.

USING THE VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY
The vehicle information display modes can be
changed using the buttons and the
button on the steering wheel.
Press the buttons on the steering
wheel to enter and navigate the vehicle
information display menu items.

Press the button on the steering
wheel to change or press the ENTER
button to select an item in the vehicle
information display.
RESETTING THE TRIP COMPUTER
1. Push the trip computer switch located on
the lower switch bank until you reach the trip
computer mode .
2. Push the trip computer switch for
more than 2 seconds to reset average fuel
consumption, average speed, distance to empty and journey time.
3. Pushing the trip computer switch for more than 2 seconds resets the
currently displayed trip odometer to zero .

The setting mode allows you to change the information displayed in the vehicle
information display:

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM


(TPMS) WITH EASY-FILL TIRE ALERT
•  “Tire Pressure Low-Add Air” warning will appear in the vehicle information

display and the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate when one
or more tires are low in pressure and air is needed.

 he tire pressures should be checked when the tires are cold. The tires are
considered cold after the vehicle has been parked for 3 hours or more or
driven less than 1 mi (1.6 km) at moderate speeds.

•  hen adding air to an under-inflated tire, the TPMS with Easy-Fill Tire
W
Alert provides visual and audible signals to help you inflate the tire to the
recommended COLD tire pressure.

• To use the Easy-Fill Tire Alert:


1. Shift to P (Park) and apply the parking brake.
2. Place the ignition switch in the ON position. Do not start the engine.
3. Add air to the under-inflated tire, and within a few seconds, the hazard
warning lights will start flashing.
4. When the designated tire pressure is reached, the horn will beep once and
the hazard warning flashers will stop.
5. Repeat this procedure for any additional under-inflated tires.

LOOSE FUEL CAP


A LOOSE FUEL CAP warning message
will appear in the vehicle information
display when the fuel-filler cap is not
tightened correctly.
To tighten, turn the fuel-filler cap clockwise

POWER MOONROOF (if so equipped)
To open the moonroof push the switch to the
DOWN/OPEN position and release it. Push
the switch again to fully open the moonroof.
To fully close the moonroof, push the switch
toward UP/CLOSE and release it. To stop
the roof, push the switch once while it is
opening or closing.
TILTING THE MOONROOF
To tilt the moonroof up, push the tilt switch while it is fully closed. To tilt the
moonroof down, push the switch to the tilt down position .
AUTO-REVERSE
When the auto-reverse function is activated, the moonroof will automatically
open or tilt up when the control unit detects something caught in the moonroof
when the moonroof is closing or tilting down.

SYSTEM UPDATES
Your vehicle software can be updated with
over-the-air updates. If so equipped, when
new software is available, a message
will be shown. Choose one of the following
prompts on the screen:
Yes - Triggers the Software update to start in
the background. You can continue to use the
system during the Software update.
Later - Skips the Software update, the pop-up message is hidden and will be
shown again in the next power cycle.
No (display may vary) - Skips the software update, the pop-up message is
hidden and will not be shown again for the current software update.
You can trigger the software update manually in the event that “Later” or “No” was
unintentionally pressed.
To manually update the software to the latest version:
1. Press the MENU button on the control panel.
2. Touch “Info” and then touch “System Information”
3. Touch “Software Update”
4. Touch “Start Software Update” and then “Download”
When the message appears, turn the
vehicle off for at least 20 minutes. The update
will be applied on the next power on cycle.
Your vehicle software can also be updated
through a secure Wi-Fi connection. Only 2.4 GHz
Wi-Fi networks are able to be connected. It is
recommended that you have a strong signal
strength. Connect your vehicle in a well-ventilated
area to prevent exposure to hazardous fumes.
To connect to your Wi-Fi network:
1. Press the MENU button on the control panel.
2. Touch “Connections”and then touch “Wi-Fi”
3. Touch the icon and then touch “Wi-Fi” to turn it on.
4. Touch , and then enter your Wi-Fi network name and password when
prompted. A message will appear under the network name when your vehicle
is successfully connected.

To manually update your software using Wi-Fi:
1. Press the MENU button on the control panel.
2. Touch “Info” and then touch “System Information”
3. Touch “Software Update”, “Start Software Update” and then touch “Download”
When the message appears, turn the
vehicle off for at least 20 minutes. When the
vehicle is restarted a message will appear
verifying that the update is complete.
To turn on automatic updates
of map software:
1. Press the MENU button on the
control panel.
2. Touch “Info” and then touch “System Information”
3. Touch “Map Update” and then touch “Map Update Settings”
4. Select an area to be updated
and touch “Start”
When a map update is available for the
selected region, a pop-up message
will be shown on the screen.
Touch “Yes” to start the map download
and update or ”Later” to see the pop-up
again in the next power cycle.

available Wi-Fi network

The USB ports are located on the center

When a compatible USB memory device is
plugged into the USB port:
• A confirmation message appears.
Select “Yes” if you prefer to use the
device with Voice Recognition in which song titles and artist names are
registered in the system.
• Compatible audio files stored on the device can be played through the vehicle’s
audio system and front display.
If two USB devices are plugged in at the same time, the device that was
plugged in first can play music in the vehicle while the second device will only
charge. To play music on the second device, unplug both and plug the second
device in first.
CHARGE ONLY PORTS
The USB charging ports are located in the
rear seat area on the back of the center
console . These ports will charge
compatible devices.

A cellular telephone should not be used while driving so full attention may be
given to vehicle operation.
For information regarding connecting your cellular phone, refer to the
connecting procedure within this guide.
SYSTEM OPERATING TIPS
Press the button on the steering wheel to
interrupt the voice prompts at any time and
speak a command after the tone.
To use the system faster, you may speak the
second level commands with the main menu
command on the main menu. For example,
press the button on the steering wheel,
and after the tone, say “Call Michael Smith”.
The “Help” command can be used to hear a
list of available commands at any time.
Reduce background noise as much as
possible by closing windows and pointing
the heater and air conditioner vents away
from the ceiling.
Speak naturally without long pauses and
without raising your voice.
To cancel a Nissan Voice Recognition session, press and hold the button on
the steering wheel, or BACK on the control panel.
To decrease or increase the volume of the voice prompts, push the volume
control switches or on the steering wheel or turn the VOL (volume) control
knob on the audio system while the system is responding.
Voice commands can be used to operate various Bluetooth® system features
using the Nissan Voice Recognition System. See your NissanConnect® Owner’s
Manual for detailed information.

with SiriusXM® Travel Link and SiriusXM®
Traffic capabilities.
SiriusXM Travel Link provides access to real-
time weather information and forecasts,
nearby fuel prices, movie listings, sports
scores and stock quotes.
SiriusXM Traffic provides information that
may help to avoid delays due to traffic
incidents. Traffic jams, roadwork, road
closures around the current location, etc., are
represented graphically on the map by icons
depicting the nature of the event. Incidents
on the route are automatically displayed as
they are approached.

AUDIO BUTTON
Twelve stations can be set for the FM band, six for the AM band and 18 for
satellite radio.
To store a station in a preset, you must first select a radio band by touching
the AM key , FM key or SiriusXM key then tune to the desired FM,
AM or satellite radio station. Audio source icon layout in the launch bar is
customizable, and your vehicle display may vary.
Next touch and hold the desired station select key (1-12). The channel
indicator will appear on the display and the programming is now complete.
To retrieve a previously set station, select the radio band where the preset
was stored then touch the corresponding station select key (1-12).

APPLE CARPLAY®
Apple CarPlay® lets you use your compatible iPhone® to make calls, listen to
music, send and receive messages, get directions and use iPhone apps directly
from your vehicle display.
Connect your compatible iPhone to the USB connection port located beneath
the climate controls or wirelessly via Bluetooth®.
• Depending on the setting, the startup information screen will appear on the
center display.
• Touch “Yes” then “OK” to use Apple CarPlay.
• After the iPhone is connected, the Apple CarPlay home screen will appear,
and the iPhone functions displayed on the screen can be operated by the
in-vehicle system.
While connected to Apple CarPlay, Siri® operation can be accessed.
There are two ways to start a Siri session:
1. Press and hold the button on the
steering wheel.
2. Touch and hold the or key
on the lower left corner of the Apple
CarPlay screen.
Press the button on the steering wheel or
touch the or key on the lower left
corner of the Apple CarPlay screen to end the Siri session.

Keep the interior of the vehicle as quiet as possible. Close the windows to
eliminate the surrounding noises (traffic noises, vibration sounds, etc.) and point
the heater and air conditioner vents away from the ceiling, which may prevent
the system from recognizing the voice commands correctly.
Some Siri functions may not be available during driving.

To exit the Apple CarPlay screen, press the MENU button on the launch bar.
To return to the Apple CarPlay screen from the main menu:

Android Auto™ connects with your compatible Android® phone to control your
phone, apps and navigation directly from your vehicle display.
INITIAL SETUP
Download the Android Auto app from the Google Play™ store to your
compatible Android phone.
Launch the app from your Android phone and follow the directions for setting
up the application. Several permissions will need to be given to the app for
Android Auto to fully function on your in-vehicle system.
USING ANDROID AUTO
To connect your Android phone to the in-vehicle system, you must connect a
USB cable to the USB connection port located beneath the climate controls.
• Depending on the setting, the startup information screen will appear on the
center display.
• Touch “Yes” then “OK” to use Android Auto.
• After the cellular phone is connected, the Android Auto home screen will
appear and can be operated by the in-vehicle system.
When connected to Android Auto, Google Assistant™ operation can be accessed.
There are three ways to start Google Assistant™:
1. Press and hold the button on the steering wheel until a beep is heard.
2. Touch the key on the launch bar.

a preferred destination. The real-time map display and turn-by-turn voice
guidance will lead you along the route.
The Navigation System will continually update your vehicle’s position. If you
have deviated from the original route, it will recalculate the route from your
current location.

To help promote safe driving, some functions cannot be operated or have
limited operation when the vehicle speed is above 5 mph (8 km/h). The
on-screen text and keys for these restricted functions will be grayed-out or
muted and cannot be selected while driving. These functions will become
available again when the vehicle speed is reduced to 5 mph (8 km/h). Voice
commands may be available for some of the restricted functions. For more
information, refer to the “Monitor, climate, audio, phone and voice recognition

MAP button – Press to display the current location map screen.

VOL (volume) control knob – Turn right to increase the volume or left to
decrease the volume.
key – Touch to zoom the map in.

modes. While the mode is being displayed, the brightness can be adjusted using
the TUNE knob. To turn the display off, press and hold the button. To turn the
display on, press the button again.
BACK button – Press to return to the previous screen.

Remote Engine Start - Start your engine remotely using the NissanConnect
Services companion app or website.
Alarm Notification - This system will notify you when the factory-installed
vehicle alarm system has been activated.
Maintenance Alert - Receive notification via a selected method of a vehicle
system malfunction that triggers instrument panel warning lights.
Connected Search - Select “Connected Search” from the “Destination” menu on
the vehicle’s Navigation System to conduct a Point of Interest (POI) search within
a certain distance of the vehicle’s location.

HANDS-FREE TEXT MESSAGING ASSISTANT*


This system allows for sending and receiving
text messages through the vehicle’s interface.
Using predefined or custom messages, send
a text to an entry stored in your Bluetooth®
Hands-free Phone System.
Once enabled, the text message, sender and
delivery time are shown on the control panel
display when the vehicle speed is less than
5 mph (8 km/h).
Text messages have the option of being read aloud at all vehicle speeds.
Many cellular phones may require special permission to enable text messaging.
Check the cellular phone’s screen during Bluetooth® pairing. For some cellular
phones, you need to enable “Notifications” in the cellular phone’s Bluetooth®
menu for text messages to appear on the touch-screen display. For more

Text message integration requires that the cellular phone support Message
Access Profile (MAP) for both receiving and sending text messages. Some

WIRELESS CHARGING (if so equipped)
The wireless charger is located in front of the
center console. Ensure the smartphone is
positioned horizontally and fully seated on the
center of the charging pad over the “Qi” logo .
Charging will start automatically. The smartphone
will be charged continuously while the ignition
switch is in the ON position.
The indicator will illuminate in orange
when the charging process is started.
When the charging is complete, the indicator illuminates in green.
If a malfunction occurs or the charging process stops, the indicator will blink in
orange for 8 seconds and will then turn off.

DRIVING FEATURES
FORWARD DRIVING AID SENSORS (if so equipped)
A camera and sensor support the forward
driving aids for your vehicle. The camera
sensor is located above the inside mirror
and the radar sensor is located on the front
of the vehicle .
Forward Driving Aid systems (if so equipped)
supported by these sensors include, but are
not limited to:
• Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with
Pedestrian Detection
• Intelligent Forward Collision
Warning (I-FCW)
The “Forward Driving Aids temporarily
disabled Front Sensor blocked See Owner’s Manual” warning
may illuminate if the front radar sensor is obstructed.
The warning light may illuminate and blink if the front
camera sensor is obstructed.
Front sensor areas may become obstructed due to mud, dirt, ice,
and inclement weather (rain, fog, snow, etc).
If the warning message appears or the warning light illuminates, stop the
vehicle in a safe place, shift the vehicle into the P (Park) position, and turn off
the engine. Clean the radar sensor areas and restart the engine. This may mean
cycling the windshield wipers and turning on the windshield defrost for a few
minutes. If the message and light continue to appear after cleaning radar sensor
areas, it may mean that forward driving aids are not functioning properly. It is
recommended that you have the systems checked by a Nissan dealer.

BLIND SPOT WARNING (BSW) WITH REAR CROSS


TRAFFIC ALERT (RCTA)
The Blind Spot Warning (BSW) system helps to alert the driver when another
vehicle moves into the vehicle’s blind spot detection zone.
If the turn signal is turned on with a vehicle in the detection zone, there will be

The indicator light located on the outside
mirrors will illuminate if the radar sensors
detect a vehicle in the detection zone.
The Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
system helps to alert the driver of an
approaching vehicle when the driver is
backing out of a parking space. The system
operates when the shift lever is in the
R (Reverse) position and the vehicle speed is
less than approximately 5 mph (8 km/h).
The BSW system can be enabled/disabled through the “Driver
Assistance” menu in the vehicle information display.

INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL (ICC) (if so equipped)


VEHICLE-TO-VEHICLE DISTANCE CONTROL MODE
To set Vehicle-To-Vehicle Distance Control
mode, push the ON/OFF switch on the
steering wheel for less than 1.5 seconds. The
CRUISE ON/OFF indicator light
will illuminate.

Accelerate to the desired speed.

Push down on the COAST/SET


switch on the steering wheel and
release it. Intelligent Cruise Control will be set to the desired speed.

Press the distance button on the steering wheel repeatedly


to change the set distance between long, middle and short.

When a vehicle is not detected ahead of you in the lane, the set distance and set
vehicle speed indicator lights will illuminate in set mode.

When a vehicle is detected ahead of you in the lane, the vehicle ahead detection,
set distance and set vehicle speed indicator lights will
illuminate in set mode.

To reset at a faster cruising speed, push and hold the


ACCEL/RES switch on the steering wheel. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed, release the switch.

To reset at a slower cruising speed, push and hold the


COAST/SET switch on the steering wheel. Release the
switch when the vehicle slows to the desired speed.

To cancel the preset speed, push the CANCEL switch on the steering wheel
or tap the brake pedal. The set vehicle speed indicator will go off.

To turn off Intelligent Cruise Control, press the ON/OFF button on
the steering wheel. The CRUISE ON/OFF switch indicator light in the
vehicle information display will go off.

CRUISE CONTROL (if so equipped)


The cruise control system enables you to set a constant cruising speed once the
vehicle has reached 25 mph (40 km/h).
The system will automatically maintain the set speed until you tap the brake
pedal, accelerate, cancel or turn off the system.
To activate the cruise control, push the
ON/OFF switch on the steering wheel.
The CRUISE indicator light in the instrument
panel will illuminate.
To set a cruising speed, accelerate the vehicle
to the desired speed, push the COAST/
SET switch on the steering wheel and
release. The SET indicator light in the vehicle
information display will illuminate. Take your
foot off the accelerator pedal. Your vehicle will
maintain the set speed.
To resume a preset cruising speed, push the
ACCEL/RES switch on the steering wheel.
The vehicle’s speed will accelerate to the previously set speed.
To reset at a faster cruising speed, push and hold the ACCEL/RES switch
on the steering wheel. When the vehicle attains the desired speed,
release the switch.
To reset at a slower cruising speed, push and hold the COAST/SET switch
on the steering wheel. Release the switch when the vehicle slows to
the desired speed.
To cancel the preset speed, tap the brake pedal or push the CANCEL switch
on the steering wheel or push the ON/OFF switch off.
To turn off cruise control, push the ON/OFF switch on the steering wheel.
Both the CRUISE indicator light and SET indicator light in the vehicle information
display will go off.

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) WITH
PEDESTRIAN DETECTION
The AEB with Pedestrian Detection can assist the driver when there is a risk
of a forward collision with a vehicle ahead in the traveling lane or
with a pedestrian.
The AEB operates at speeds greater than 3 mph (5 km/h).
If there is a risk of a forward collision, an audible tone will sound
and the vehicle ahead detection indicator , located in the
vehicle information display, will illuminate. If the driver applies the
brakes after the warning and the AEB detects that there is still
the possibility of a forward collision, the system will automatically
increase the braking force. If the driver does not take action, the
AEB emergency warning indicator , located in the vehicle
information display, will appear, followed by an audible warning and partial
braking will be applied.

REARVIEW MONITOR (if so equipped)


When the shift lever is shifted into
the R (Reverse) position, the monitor display
shows a rearward view from the vehicle.
The colored guide lines on the display screen
indicate vehicle width and approximate
distances to objects with reference to the
vehicle body line.
• Red 1.5 ft (0.5 m)
• Yellow 3 ft (1 m)
• Green 7 ft (2 m)

Hill Descent Control is designed to reduce driver
workload when going down steep hills. The Hill
Descent Control system helps to control vehicle
speed so the driver can concentrate on steering

The shift lever must be in a forward
or reverse gear.
The 4WD switch must be in the 4LO position
and the vehicle speed must be under
15 mph (25 km/h), or
The 4WD switch must be in the 4H position
and the vehicle speed must be under
21 mph (35 km/h), and
The Hill Descent Control switch must be in the ON position.

HILL START ASSIST


Hill Start Assist allows time for the driver to release the brake pedal and apply the
accelerator when the vehicle is parked on a hill. The brakes are applied automatically
for 2 seconds after the driver releases the brake pedal.
Hill Start Assist will operate automatically under these conditions:
• The shift lever is shifted into a forward or a reverse gear.
• The vehicle is stopped completely on a hill by applying the brake.
Hill Start Assist will not operate when the shift lever is in the N (Neutral) or
P (Park) position or when the vehicle is on a flat and level road.

REAR AUTOMATIC BRAKING (RAB) (if so equipped)


The RAB system can assist the driver when the vehicle is backing up and
approaching objects directly behind the vehicle.
The RAB system will function when the shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position
and the vehicle speed is less than approximately 9 mph (15 km/h).
If a risk of a collision with an obstacle is detected when your vehicle
is backing up, the RAB system warning light will flash in the
vehicle information display.
A red frame will appear in the center display
(for vehicles equipped with the Intelligent
Around View Monitor system). The system will
chime three times and braking will be applied
automatically. The driver must depress the
brake pedal to maintain brake pressure.

TURNING THE RAB SYSTEM ON/OFF
The RAB system can be turned on or off through the “Driver Assistance” menu in
the vehicle information display.
When the RAB system is turned off, the RAB system warning light illuminates.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING (LDW) (if so equipped)


The LDW system can help alert the driver when the vehicle is
traveling too close to either the left or the right side lane marking.
The system will operate when the vehicle is driven at speeds of
approximately 37 mph (60 km/h) and above and only when the lane
markings are clearly visible on the road.
When the vehicle approaches either the
left or the right side lane marking, the
LDW system will vibrate the steering wheel
and the orange LDW indicator in the
vehicle information display will blink to
alert the driver.
The LDW system can be turned on or off
through the “Driver Assistance” menu in the vehicle information display.

When Driver Attention Alert is selected in

will use an audible and visual warning to
suggest that the driver take a break.
If the system detects that driver attention is
decreasing, the Take a Break? message
appears in the vehicle information display
and a chime sounds when the vehicle is
driven at speeds above 37 mph (60 km/h).

MANUAL SHIFT MODE


To activate manual shift mode, move the shift
lever to the manual shift gate.

Then select "+" or "-".
The shift range is displayed on the position
indicator in the meter.

Return the shift lever to the D (Drive)
position to return the transmission to the

VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL (VDC)
Always make sure VDC is on by ensuring
the VDC OFF light is not on before
driving the vehicle.
The OFF VDC OFF switch should ONLY be
used briefly to help free the vehicle if it is
stuck in snow or mud.
REAR SONAR SYSTEM (RSS) (if so equipped)
Press the Parking Aids system switch to
activate the system. Then with the shift lever
in the R (Reverse) position, this system will
sound a tone and the indicator will blink to
alert you of detected obstacles.
When the vehicle is very close to the object,
the indicator stops blinking and turns red, and the tone sounds continuously.
