straight to the point and also speak fun. It should be a combination of both.
PART 2
I have a habit of visiting art galleries and museums from time to time
because it allows me to take my mind off the boredom of our daily
monotonous life. So, the other day, when I was visiting one of the largest
art galleries in my country, I saw the picture of the beautiful artwork
called “Las Meninas” in a catalogue of all the famous artworks of the
world.
Originally entitled "The Family of Philip IV," Las Meninas, painted around,
1656 depicts Velazquez himself working in his studio in Madrid's Royal
Alcazar Palace. Regarded as one of the most famous and controversial
artworks of all time, Las Meninas (The Maids of Honour) is widely viewed
as a dialogue between artist and viewer, with its double mirror imagery
and sketchy brushwork that brings every figure and object of the room to
life. Then, of course, some would view it as just a scene from a play,
with all the actors in their pre-planned positions - a blond figure of a 5-
year-old infant, the daughter of King Phillip IV of Spain in the central and
also the other family members of the king. But, for the most part, this
painting has been a mystery for more than three and a half centuries.
PART 3
How do people in your country feel about art?
Art holds a special place in my country. In fact, there are many museums and art
galleries where a wide range of local and international works of art are displayed.
People from all walks of life visit them. They love art and appreciate artists.
Yes, they do. Music is an integral part of people’s life. Indians love all
genres of music like classical, rap, pop, rock and jazz etc. I’d like to
mention that young and old people have different tastes in music. The
young generation enjoys fast music with beats whereas the elderly listen to
slow and soothing music.
Should the government provide support for art and cultural activities?
Art and cultural programs help people connect with their cultures. For
keeping our cultural diversity alive, artists must be promoted at all levels. Any
kind of support, in the form of money or resources, will enable artists to make
a decent living and earn respect in society.
Do you think that some people are naturally better artists than others?
Yes, I do think that some people are naturally better artists than others, just
like somebody is better in science and mathematics academically, primarily
because of their genetic structure and disposition towards “creativity”. In fact,
it is my opinion that it is the “genetic disposition” of some children who spent
much of their time in their childhood by engaging in creative activity, whether
it was drawing or singing, or whatever that they enjoyed, in order to develop
their skills from the early years of their lives in the process of play.
