CSEC Biology January 2009 P032

This document contains a biology exam with multiple choice and written response questions about plant biology topics like germination, photosynthesis, and animal anatomy. The exam provides figures and asks students to interpret the figures, identify structures, hypothesize experiments, and explain biological processes and functions. It contains questions about seed germination stages, plant growth measurements, the structure and function of vertebrae and limb bones, and setting up an experiment to investigate photosynthesis. The exam is assessing students' abilities to analyze diagrams, understand biological concepts, and communicate their knowledge through written explanations and labeled diagrams.

(e) After 96 hours as illustrated in Figure I. some seedlings are placed in pots with soil
and further investigated. One set of polled plants is placed in an intact black cardboard
box. whi le another set is placed in a black cardboard box with a hole in one side. Both
sets are left in a well-lit laboratory for one week.
