G6 Design Portfolio

Criterion A:
Inquiring & Analyzing

MYP Year 1 Rubric:

BHA Grade 6

A1: explain and justify the need for a solution to a

problem

A2: state and prioritize the main points of

research needed to develop a solution to the

problem

A3: describe the main features of one existing

product that inspires a solution to the problem

A4: present the main findings of relevant research

What is the Story of this game?
Story and rule: Players should move

their avatar, and gets 1 point for
each. At this stage, maximum point
is 7.

Product Analysis 2

How might you modify this game to

better suit your user?
I might give them option for what
kinds of avatar, and background,
also a block would be, so that they

this game as inspiration in your own
game?
I might use variable, to show scores
or time left, too. Also other things
that I could use is randomly

A3.4: Analysis of Existing Designs - Cloning Game Play
What is the Story of this game?

This cloning game is about only

touching 1 of the object, in both
two of it, and especially, for mine,
players should only touch the
radio, but not the keyboard.

Truck, which is the player’s character

key, and truck should only touch
radio. How might you modify this game to
better suit your user?
I would like to maybe add on some
point, if the users touch other object
then they supposed to, they will lose
for the game.

What might you use/borrow from this

game as inspiration in your own
game?
It might be the one that object only
should touch, and if it touches other
things than that, it will change to end
slide.

Criterion B:
Developing Ideas

MYP Year 1 Rubric:

BHA Grade 6

B1: develop a list of success criteria for the

solution

B2:present feasible design ideas, which can be

correctly interpreted by others

B3: present the chosen design

B4: create a planning drawing/diagram which

outlines the main details for making the chosen
solution.

B3: Chosen Design
B1/B4: Design Specifications and Game Flow Chart
A2.1 Scratch Code: Primary Research (skills)
(photo of completed Code.org Express Course Dashboard) Loop Definition:
A loop is a special tool in programming that
repeats a set of instructions over and over
again. It's like playing your favorite game level
again and again until you win! It helps make
tasks easier and faster.

Use:
We can use it, if we would like the character to
repeat for a long time, or as the time they
wants to. Simply, it is about repeating.

Variable Definition:
A variable is like a labeled box in a program
where we put information. It helps keep things
organized and makes it easy to use and
understand data in our program.

Use:
It can be as the score, which program could
change by the players do. However, there are a
lots of example other than score, too, just as
time, too.

Conditional Definition:
Conditional statements are like making
decisions. We tell the computer to do something
only if a certain condition is met. It's like
choosing to wear a jacket only if it's cold
outside!

Use:
It will be like having a cause and effect, but
especially, it will shown as the correct, code,
because if some is different than it was
supposed to, program will do such a different
thing as designer/ maker expected.
