This document provides instructions for creating a 3D SAP2000 model of an architectural plan including slabs, beams, and columns. It specifies dead loads, live loads, and earthquake loads to consider in the model. It also lists five load combinations and requests the design of a ground floor column, first floor secondary beam, and first floor main beam to check for shear, flexure, and deflection.

Fundamentals of Steel Design

For the given architectural plan below, create 3D SAP2000 model. Draw the slabs on top of the secondary beams. Add
WDL = 10 kN/m wall partition load, live load as WLL = 2 kN/m2. Use S235 material. C o n s i d e r e a r t h q u a k e
lo a d s a nd se e t he t a b le fo r d ime n s io n s.
Load combinations are as given below

a) DL + LL
b) DL + LL + EQ
c) DL + LL – EQ
d) 0.9 DL + EQ
e) 0.9 DL – EQ

DL: Dead load, LL: Live liod, EQ: Earthquake load

1) Design a single ground floor column and present.

2) Design a single first floor secondary beam against shear flexure (moment) and deflection
3) Design a single first floor main beam against shear flexure (moment) and deflection
