The synopsis should provide a detailed summary of the proposed research work. It
should give an outline of the thesis. The synopsis must be presented within a
maximum of 15 pages excluding the cover page. The contents of the synopsis should
be as follows:

1. Title Page:

A title page of the synopsis should include the proposed Title of the Research
Work, Name of the Candidate (with qualifications), Name of the Supervisor,
Name of the Department, University Name and Date (month and year) of
submission.

2. Introduction: (Two Pages)

It should provide a brief description to introduce the area of the proposed


Research Work. The Introduction should include Research Questions, Aims,
Objectives and the sub Objectives of the study along with the Hypotheses, if
any. These Objectives will indicate the major aspects of the study to be
undertaken.

3. Review of Literature:

A brief review of the relevant literature of previous work published in National


and International Journals, Reports, Online Resources etc. indexed in Scopus,
SPIE, SCI and UGC approved Journal list in the area of the proposed research.
The information given in the review should be supported by proper citation and
references.

4. Research Problem/Gap: (One Page)

The research problem should be defined clearly in a systematic manner, giving


due weightage to all relevant points.

5. Methodology of the research Work (Two pages)

A plan of work describing the various aspects of the study in a logical sequence
along with the Methodologies which will be used in the research work should
be highlighted. It should include:
 Type of Research

 Research Design

 Statistical Tools

 Sample Design/Sample Size

 Sampling Techniques

 Scale Used

6. Expected Impact on Academics/Industry (One Page)

Likely Benefits and Justification for undertaking the proposed research should
be highlighted.

7. References

The references should include Reports, Online Resources, Books, Research


Papers, Articles (not less than 100) published/indexed in Scopus, SPIE, SCI and
latest UGC CARE List etc. List of up-to-date References in standard APA
format should also be enclosed in the synopsis.

(References contain source of material like quotes or texts, which has been
actually used when writing an essay or book.)

8. PERT/Flow Chart (One Page)

The tentative Schedule of Activities and proposed Chapter Plan should also be
presented in the form of a PERT/Flow Chart.
