1. PURPOSE:
Educational institutes are the prime source of fresh talent for any company. It is therefore in the interest
of the company to give exposure to the students pursuing professional education and offer our company
as "Preferred Employer'' in the competitive job market.
Internship program provides students with an opportunity to develop a core of knowledge and related
skills to prepare for professional work in the field. This knowledge is complemented by requirements that
students gain practical work experience in the field during their academic experience.

Therefore, this procedure defines the framework of Internship Program in Starlet

2. SCOPE:
Companywide

3. RESPONSIBILITIES:

3.1 Concerned University / Institute


Concerned University / Institute recommend the name(s) of student(s) for internship on merit and
liaise with the company's contact person for scheduling the internship program.

3.2 Starlet
HRM department to plan and monitor the internship program and all concerned divisions/dept. to
provide necessary support.

3.3 Internee
a) Maintain regularity and punctuality throughout the internship.
b) Comply with prescribed "Code of Conduct", carry out the assigned tasks with responsibility,
follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment wherever required.
c) Demonstrate willingness to fully and actively participate in the learning experience in Starlet.
d) Submit one copy of "Internship Report" to the Company at the end of the internship
program.
e) Not represent Starlet at any event without the prior consent of the management.

4. PROCEDURE:

4.1 Eligibility
Students only from Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized universities / institutes
pursuing education in the following disciplines are eligible:

4.2 Duration
Internship program is offered once a year for 4 to 8 weeks.

4.3 Number
Limited number of interns is allowed at Starlet as per available capacity. However total number of
interns shall be around 5 at a time.

4.4 Application & Selection


HRM department will coordinate with concerned universities / institutes for sending
applications/recommendations of their students.
Applications will be accepted on the prescribed form through University/Institute duly signed by the
authorized person.
The internees will be selected purely on merit after scrutiny of academic record and initial interview.

4.5 Approval
HRM department submits note for approval to Management before commencing the internship
program.

4.6 Placement
Internships will be offered in the respective fields of interest and Internees will be placed according
to the field of specialization they have opted. Student must have formal approval from his/her
academia to participate in the internship program.

4.7 Work Assignment


Departments where internees are placed, shall involve them in their short term tasks/projects so
that internees learn work processes and at the same time department may carry out its
objectives.

4.8 Reporting & Monitoring


HRM department shall keep vigilance on the progress of internees throughout the internship
program.

4.9 Evaluation
Performance of internees shall be assessed at the end of internship program by their respective
coordinator on prescribed form.

4.10 Award of Certificate


Internees who successfully complete the internship & submit the report to the company, will be
awarded an "Internship Certificate".

4.11 Liability of Starlet

4.11.1 Stipend / Internship Allowance


A monthly amount of Rs. 15,000 as approved by the Management will be paid as stipend
upon successful completion per month each internee. The rate of stipend may be fixed and
revised from time to time at the sole discretion of the Management (to reinforce regularity in
attendance, Pro-rate deduction in the allowance will be applied).

4.11.2 Transportation
The Company will not be responsible to make any special arrangements for transportation.
Rs. 5/KM Can be paid.
4.11.3 Employment of Internees:
The Company will not be liable for providing employment to the internees after completion of
internship in starlet nor does it guarantee any preference or privilege to such internees
during any hiring process in future.
Their candidature will be judged as per Hiring Policy of starlet for any vacant position for
which they apply. However, the record of their conduct during the internship may also be
referred.
