S02 Check Spatial distribution of BIM elements – quality control
To make sure that each element is correctly positioned on correct floor in the model, it's recommended to set up a Custom Breakdown Structure.
You can do this by following steps bellow:
Activate the Custom Breakdowns palette on the left side of the screen
1.Click on the arrow beside the New command and choose the Blank Custom Breakdown… option
2.In the Create Custom Breakdown window, define the name of the structure
3. Under the Type choose option Buildings and check the box in front of the listed buildings
Click on the Use Selection button
Click on the Add Breakdown Rule and in the drop-down menu choose option Group by Building Level
4.Finish the process by clicking OK.
Notes
Completing these steps will help you
systematically check and confirm
that elements are where they
should be in the model.

S03 Automatically enrich the BIM model with Classification
Structure codes using Data enrichment
In order to enhance your model with additional properties based on an existing one, you can import a template from Knowledge base or to create your own.
Templates from BEXEL Knowledge base are created for different types of Cost Classification.
In this example, it is illustrated how to incorporate specific codes using the UniFormat II Cost Classification for building specifications, Cost Estimating and Cost Analysis.
This property will be used for automatic creation of Quantity TakeOff, Cost Classification and Bill of Quantities
1. Click on Add-In section within the main ribbon at the top of the
screen → Import properties from Excel
After pop-up window is opened:
2. Choose the proper Excel spreadsheet from the Knowledge Base
folder or import custom created one as input for data
3. Finish the process by clicking Open, and OK after data is imported
When data is imported, you can find recently added properties in Properties window Properties window

Activate the Custom Breakdowns palette on the left side of the screen
1. Click on the arrow beside the New command and choose the Blank Custom Breakdown… option
2. In the Create Custom Breakdown window, define the name of the structure
Under the Type choose option Buildings and check the box in front of the listed buildings
Click on the Use Selection button
Click on the Add Breakdown Rule and in the drop-down menu choose option Group by Property
3. In listed properties, choose one that you added with Data Enrichment template (Unifomat
Assembly Code in this case) and click ok
4. When rule is visible, click on it and select Color Coding rule icon
Finish the process by clicking ok.
Notes Notes
After CBS is created, you can see elements that weren’t
enriched by selecting those with Undefined value
If some of model elements were not enriched with properties from Data Enrichment Template open the template Notes
from Knowledge base and customize it by your needs
• You can add unlimited numbers of existing property
Excel table can be customized and more columns can be added to specify more rules according to the project needs names and values that are already defined in BIM model
to trigger specific element

S08 Linking cost items to BIM model elements - Create BOQ
To build a 5D BIM model the classification system must be connected with BIM-model elements.
The approach is to automatically associate each cost item with its corresponding element within the BIM model.
Once when Items are Assigned, they are presented as Cost estimate or a Bill of quantities.

S08 Linking cost items to BIM model elements - Create BOQ
A cost estimate involves connecting model elements and cost items with calculated quantities from the model (and then determining the total cost by factoring in unit prices)
You can find your Cost Version in Cost Estimate module.
With this process, elements are linked to the cost database and a 5D BIM model is created.

S09 Check Applicable elements - quality control
The validation process of the Cost Classification can be performed by checking applicable elements option
1. Select the cost classification items and click the Check Applicable Elements command in the second toolbar line
There are two options to check All Elements or Selected Elements.
• By selecting All Elements the system will perform analyses of all elements applicable to be assigned to selected cost
classification or items.
• Choosing the option Selected elements the system will analyze if only selected elements can be assigned to respective cost
items.
2. The validation process will inform the user about which cost items have issues and will not pass the Auto Assign process
3. After the process is completed, the system will automatically create selection sets in the Check Applicable Elements
Results folder.

S11 Create Zones - based on Spatial Structure
The spatial distribution of the construction process must be properly scheduled on every project. Zones are typically divided into Buildings (if they consist of more than one
Building), Storeys (Building levels), and Construction sequence – Phases (if it is needed). In this example we are showing Creation of zones based on building levels.

S11 Create Zones - based on Construction Sequence - optional
If elements of the BIM model have property defining construction sequence (Phase) it can be divided into phases similarly to Building Levels.
If the BIM model doesn’t have a property defining construction sequence (Phase) it can be defined in BEXEL Manager by making selection sets of building parts that will form
individual construction Phases.
1.Once when Selection set is created, process of creating zones by phases is the same as dividing to levels, but
in the Reference object window, choose Selection Sets that refers to Construction Sequence.
2.Check Create Relations box to create relations between the items. Finish the process by clicking OK
