RESEARCH DESIGNS
NARRATIVE RESEARCH
▪ Narrative research is a form of
qualitative research that involves
collecting and telling a story or
stories in detail. It is a literary form
of research that focuses on studying
an individual person's experiences,
describing a life experience, and
discussing the meaning of the
experience with the individual.
Narrative research is becoming
increasingly popular in education
as a circular and pedagogical
strategy that lends itself to the
practical application of research.
▪ Narrative research is useful for researchers
who want to explore the lived experiences of
educators, education administrators,
students, and parents or guardians. It is a
powerful tool for understanding the teacher's
practice and finding an illuminating story to
tell of what they have been involved with
their student
