Grade-7-Classification of Angle

This document outlines a lesson plan on the classification of angles for 7th grade mathematics students. The objectives are for students to be able to classify different kinds of angles, demonstrate naming angles, and recognize angles in real-life objects. The lesson plan includes preliminary activities like reviewing lines, an activity where students classify sample angles, and explanations of angle definitions and classifications including right, acute, obtuse, straight, and reflex angles. Students then practice identifying angle types through worksheets and an activity identifying angles on a clock. The assignment is for students to find five objects at home that contain angles.

Region XII
City Schools Division of Tacurong
SAN EMMANUEL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
San Emmanuel, City of Tacurong
Content Standard: Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of
geometry of shapes and sizes, and geometric
relationship
Performance Standard: Is able to create models of plane figures and
formulate and solve accurately authentic problems
involving sides and angles of polygon.
Learning Competency: The learners will be able to derives relationships of
geometric figure using measurements and by
inductive reasoning; vertical lines and perpendicular
angles,
Code: M7GE-IIIb-1
I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, at least 75% of the students
can be able to:
a. classify different kinds of angles;
b. demonstrate proficiency in performing the
three ways of naming an angle; and
c. synthesize angle in real life objects.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Classification of Angles
Reference: Mathematics 7 Learner's Module
Materials: Cartolina, Laptop, Work Sheet and TV
Values: Appreciation & Cooperation
III. Procedure/Methodology A. Preliminary Activities
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Classroom Rules
 Review (Subset of Line)
 The Teacher will ask the students about
their past lesson
 Motivation
The teacher will show students an object and
let students identify if it has an angle. They will
say “OH MY ANGLE” if it has an angle and
“OH NO ANGLE” if otherwise.

A. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
“THINK IT! FILL IT!!”
The teacher will divide the class into three
groups. Each group will be given a picture of
an angle with its corresponding measurement,
and the group will choose their representative
to paste it.

Less Exactly More Exactly More

than 90° than 90° 180° than
90° but less 180°
than 180° but less
than
360°

2. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following questions:
1. What have you observed in our activity?
2. How did you identify where the figure should
be placed?
3. What would be our topic for today?
3. Abstraction
ANGLE
An angle is formed by two nonlinear rays with a
common endpoint. The symbol for angle is ∠

Three ways in naming an angle

1. The number assigned to the angle
Ex. ∠1 or angle 1
2. Its Vertex
Ex. ∠B or angle B
3. Its vertex and two other points
Ex. ∠ABC, ∠CBA or angle ABC, angle CBA
5 Classification of Angles

1. Right Angle – is an angle that measures exactly

90°.

2. Acute Angle – is an angle that measures less than

90°.
3. Obtuse Angle – is angle that measures more than
90° but less than 180°

4. Straight Angle – is an angle that measures exactly

180°.

5. Reflex Angle – is an angle that measures more

than 180° but less than 360°

4. Application
“Figure it Out”
- In the same group, the teacher will give each group
a worksheet and let them answer it for 5 minutes.
