Stage 14

Ok so4 this month I want you to do 5 sets of 20 reps of
pull-ups once every week, as well as continuing with your
Stage 1 stretches, Stage 2 hanging, Stage 3 diet changes,
Stage 4 squats, Stage 5 diet changes, Stage 6 sprinting,

Stage 7 hang adjustments & PNF stretches after your
sprinting and Stage 8 cycling for 30 minutes (or 15km) on
a bike every 2 days with gradual seat adjustment, Stage 9
diet changes, Stage 10 Deadlifts, Stage 11 calorific intake
and counting, Stage 12 sleep tracking and Stage 13 diet.

So4In the next 30 days you will be doing:-
1) All the stretches from Stage 1.
2) 6 minutes of hanging from Stage 2(PNF style).
3) Drinking 2 litres of water everyday.
4) Eating the amount of protein necessary to equal your
bodyweight in pounds (lbs).
5) Doing 100 squats every 3 days as shown in Stage 4
6) Drinking 1 litre of milk per day, taking cod liver oil &
glucosamine supplements
7) Doing a sprinting session within 24 hours of your
Stage 4 squats.
8) Doing 3 PNF stretches right after your sprinting and
doing PNF style hanging to replace your normal
hanging from Stage 2.

9) Cycling for 30 Minutes (or 15km) every 2 days4 then


gradually adjusting the seat height when you feel
ready to allow your legs to grow longer.
10)...Eating a portion(150-200g) of pineapple every day
before 2 separate meals with large protein content
per day.
11) Doing 5 sets of 10 reps of dead lifts every 3 days.
12) Increasing calorific intake and counting calories.

13) Keep track of how much you sleep and ensure you
are getting enough rest.
14) Eating the amount of carbs necessary to equal your
bodyweight in pounds (lbs).

increasing your resistance training by doing 5 sets of 20
reps of pull-ups once every week.

The Method

For this training it is best to use an assisted pull-up

machine which can be found in most gyms. The reason
being is that it is extremely hard to do 5 sets of 20 reps
with just a free bar and there is no shame in that. Plus,
you will find that using an assisted machine will make it a
lot more manageable with the same overall benefit.

It is best to use an underhand grip, with your hands


shoulder width apart, keeping your posture forward and
taking it nice and slow.

Handy Tip:

If you increase the weight on the machine you will actually


find the pull-up a lot easier. This is because the weight is
adding to your overall body weight.

For instance if you weigh 90 kilos and you increase the


weight to 70 kilos you are actually only lifting 20 kilos.

You may find it takes a couple of sets to figure out what


weight works best for you, so make sure you take the time
to do that as only you know what works best for yourself.

Why Resistance Training?

From this stage forward it is really important to increase
resistance training that concentrates specifically on
working the muscle groups that are needed to grow taller.

We are not talking about the kind of resistance training
body builders are famed for. The type of resistance
training that we will be working on in the upcoming stages,

all work to stretch and strengthen the particular muscle set
used to achieve our overall goal, which is of course, to
grow taller.

In time these muscles will not only be stronger, they will


have lengthened and increased elasticity and your body

will be in perfect balance. You will also find that you will
benefit from these exercises in your stretching routine as
the increased elasticity and longer muscles will mean that
you will be able to stretch further and for longer.

Why Pull-ups?

There is a lot of fear surrounding pull-ups. Many people


have in the past given them a try and have struggled at
the get-go, and because of that initial struggle they
instantly threw in the towel. The reason for their initial
failure is most likely 1 or 2 of a few things;

Bad technique, listening to other people talk about how


hard and how they most likely won’t be able to do it (letting

people get you mentally down is never good for focus),


lack of commitment – if you are not willing to try or give it
your all, then failure is never far away. If you want
something and are willing to go after it full throttle, you will
obtain it!

Using an assisted pull-up machine will make all the


difference and will also help you to ensure that you do the

pull-up correctly. Which will in turn help your confidence
and will keep you on the right grow taller path.

There is no reason to be afraid, if anything there is only

reason to be excited, as the pull-up has so many fantastic
benefits. Plus, doing the pull-ups will help you to grow
taller.

Pull-ups develop the biceps, triceps and shoulders. They
strengthen your whole back and increase elasticity and
lengthen your muscles. Plus an added bonus is that your
abdominal muscles are also given a good workout due to
the fact that during the pull-up they are working hard to
stabilise your core.

So what actually goes on with your body during a pull-up?

Latissimus Dorsi Muscles

Or as they are more commonly referred to, your “lats” are


the muscles that run from the top and outside of each
shoulder and down your back.

When you bend your arms and pull yourself up, the lats
are the muscles that are responsible for this motion.

Rhomboids

Rhomboid muscles are situated in your back adjacent to


your lats. When you do a pull-up, these muscles engage
and work to strengthen your whole back and they also
work to strengthen your front and core as well. They are
important for keeping your body in balance.

Arm Muscles

When you do a pull-up your triceps and biceps engage to

make it possible for your elbows to bend and for you to
achieve the lift needed to accomplish a pull-up. This is
really great because most arm workouts only usually
engages one muscle set, but as you will find, pull-ups are

really a more rounded and fulfilling approach.

Pull-ups are a fantastic cardiovascular workout, so not


only will you be strengthening your body, lengthening the

muscles and increasing elasticity and encouraging your
