POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY:


The Manager, Predictive Analytics and Data Science is responsible for advancing our data and analytics
systems and collaborating with Instructional Technology in master data management and defining Big
Data and Statistical Modeling.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:


 Implement Data Quality and Governance practices so quality data can be utilized across FLVS
 Partner with IT to determine the vision and roadmap for the data and analytics technology
infrastructure that ensures reliable delivery of high-quality data and insight
 Manage and support implementation of a three tier BI footprint focusing on providing
Operational analytics, Predictive Analytics and Advance analytics (such as Statistical modeling,
Big Data, Real Time or Semi-Real Time, Structured / Unstructured analysis capability)
 Collaborate with IT to develop the analytic network's capability to tell data stories and turn
insights into actionable outcomes that can influence organizational strategies
 Develop and apply advanced analytics for organizational strategy and targeting and predictive
modeling
 Manage and mine data to detect patterns, opportunities and insights that drive our
organizational strategies
 Manage, build, validate, and deploy predictive algorithms across all areas of the organization,
utilizing data from various sources
 Coordinate closely with colleagues across all departments to refine data needs and provide
options for data science work
 Engage in both exploratory data analyses to identify trends and predictive data analysis to solve
problems
 Manage the creation of visualizations to identify and communicate outcomes to stakeholders
 Independently engage in undirected research and tackle open-ended problems and questions
 Actively use and enhance existing performance measures to track and report results achieved
 Manage, control, direct, and supervise assigned direct reports, including general leadership,
planning, organizing, and reviewing
 Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines,
honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner,
and demonstrate respect for others

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, Mathematics, Assessment,
Quantitative Methods, Educational Measurements or closed related fields; or equivalent
combination of education and relevant experience
 Master’s Degree, preferred

Experience:
 Three years’ experience in data analytics

Knowledge, abilities and skills:


 Advanced analytical skills, including expert knowledge in statistical analysis, segmentation,
descriptive and predictive modeling, market research, testing, consulting and project
management
 Experience with advanced predictive modeling & statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, SAS, or R
 Experience in applied data analysis, particularly in applied predictive modeling and statistical
analysis
 Familiarity with visual analytic tools such as Power BI
 Ability to paint a picture through analytics that will enhance and determine business decisions
 Capable of pulling down structured data for modeling through SQL
 Excellent analytical skills required including advanced statistical and data mining techniques
 Ability to handle multiple projects required and work independently in a deadline oriented
environment
 Knowledge of educational publishing and/or online education
 Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
 Strong planning, organizational, and presentation skills, as related to job purpose
