many people and thus it can save lots of fuel. In addition, using less fuel can

Your own ideas

> Why do think it is so difficult for people to give up smoking?
Do you get angry about passive smoking - breathing in secondhand smoke?
Why?
In my opinion, smoking should be banned in public places because of the
following reasons.
Firstly, smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ
of the body.More than 16 million Americans are living with a disease caused
by smoking. For every person who dies because of smoking, at least 30 people
live with a serious smoking-related illness. Smoking causes cancer, heart
disease, stroke, lung disease, diabetes,…
Secondly, Smoking affects other people around. Secondhand smoke exposure
contributes to approximately 41,000 deaths among nonsmoking adults and 100
deaths in infants each year. It causes stroke, lung disease,.. coronary heart in
adults. Children who are exposed to secondhand smoke are at increased risk for
sudden infant death syndrome.
Thirdly, if people decrease smoking, the litter will be reduce. The tobacco
industry alone creates 2 million tonnes of solid waste every year. According to
one study, this huge amount is caused by the constant waste of cigarette
packets as well as the plastic packaging that surround it. So, it will be better if
smoking is banned.
In conclusion, smoking brings us a lot of disadvantages so it is should be
banned in public places to protect yourself, others and the environment.
