INTRODUCTION

What is a laptop?
laptop, sometimes called a notebook computer by manufacturers, is a battery- or AC-
powered personal computer (PC) smaller than a briefcase. A laptop can be easily transported
and used in temporary spaces such as on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices and

• A laptop can be turned into a desktop computer with a docking station, which is a hardware
frame that supplies connections for peripheral input/output devices such as a monitor,
keyboard and printer.
• Motherboard:-. A computer motherboard is located inside the
computer case and is where most of the parts and computer peripherals
connect. With tower computers, the motherboard is on the left or right
side of the tower and is the biggest circuit board.
• CPU/processor.:- The processor, also known as the CPU, provides
the instructions and processing power the computer needs to do
its work.

• RAM (random access memory) :- RAM stands for random-access


memory, but what does that mean? Your computer RAM is essentially
short term memory where data is stored as the processor needs it.
• Hard drive.:-Hard disks for personal computers can store terabytes
(trillions of bytes) of information.
• Power supply unit.:-A power supply is an electrical device that
offers electric power to an electrical load such as laptop computer,
server, or other electronic devices.
• Video card. :-video card, also called graphics card, integrated circuit
that generates the video signal sent to a computer display. The
card is usually located on the computer motherboard or is a separate
circuit board but is sometimes built into the computer display unit
• Network card.:- Network interface card (also known as a NIC,
network card, or network interface controller) is an electronic device
that connects a computer to a computer network , usually a LAN.
It is considered a piece of computer hardware.

Bluetooth card (or adapter:- Bluetooth Card is a USB-based


wireless card that allows computers to receive Bluetooth signals
wirelessly to connect various devices or sensors.
