 After the activity, the teacher will ask the learners if they have
noticed a difference to the sound of the two items used.
D. Discussing new (Ideate)
concepts and practicing Everything around you produces different sounds. Humans, animals,
new skills #1 vehicles, and objects produce sounds. Sound can be soft, loud, pleasant,
(Explain) unpleasant, audible (can be heard), and inaudible (cannot be heard).

 The teacher will ask the learners an example of the sound of a


human talking, sound of an animal, and a sound of a vehicle.

Some sounds are produced by beating, blowing, shaking, strumming, and


tapping or hitting.

 The teacher will ask the learners to give different examples of


instruments that produces sound.

Here are the examples of instruments that produces sounds:


1. Beating the drum
2. Blowing the flute
3. Strumming the guitar
4. Shaking the maracas
5. Tapping and shaking the tambourine

Weak force produces soft sounds. Objects that produce soft sounds are
pleasant for the ears.

1. Music box
2. Soft playing the violin
3. Ticking of the clock

Strong force produces loud sound. Objects that produce too much loud
sound are unpleasant for the ears. The siren of the ambulance and
firetruck produces loud sound.
E. Discussing new (Ideate)

1. It was your birthday party and your friends hold their microphones
and sing Happy Birthday all together.
2. Your neighbors are complaining about the noisy dogs fighting and
barking. Your father called some barangay tanod to help him stop the
fighting dogs.
3. The school choir performed their song during the School’s
Anniversary. The choir’s voices are blending well. The audience was
so amazed by their performance.
4. It was your first time riding an airplane. During the take-off, you
keep covering your ears.
5. Glenda spent her summer vacation in Boracay. She told her friends that
it was nice staying on a beach, hearing the sounds of the small
waves, chirping of birds, and the wind brushing through the leaves.
