Warm-Up Trivia:
Did you know that studies have confirmed expressing
gratitude makes us happier?
Defining gratitude
• Gratitude is a reciprocation of kind feelings; it is an
attitude of gratefulness. Expressing gratitude is
more than an inner benevolent feeling, which brings
a calming effect to all of us. It’s the exchange of good
and positive thoughts that develop relationships.
Expressing gratitude involves thanking someone for
their help, care, and interest in one’s wellbeing.
Research indicates that gratitude is even more
valuable when you express it.

1.Benefits of Gratitude
• Gratitude brings numerous benefits to our
physical, mental, and emotional health. Research
has shown that cultivating gratitude improves our
mood, reduces stress and anxiety, enhances
empathy, and strengthens relationships. We can
explore these topics to understand the science
behind gratitude and how it positively affects our
well-being.
2. Daily Gratitude Practice
• One of the most effective ways to develop gratitude
is through daily practice. By dedicating time each
day to reflect on the things we are grateful for, we
cultivate a positive mindset and shift our focus

towards abundance rather than lack. We can
discuss different practices such as keeping
gratitude journal, expressing gratitude to others, or
practicing mindfulness meditation.
3. Gratitude in Adversity
• Gratitude becomes even more important during
challenging times. It is often during these moments
that we tend to overlook the positive aspects of our
lives. By embracing gratitude during adversity, we
learn to find silver linings, gain perspective, and
draw strength from our experiences. Topics to
explore could include the power for growth, turning
obstacles into steppingstones, and finding gratitude
within painful circumstances.
