CMIS 311: Assignment 5: Course Website

Due: After completion of Unit 3 and Assignment 3

Credit Weight: 20% of your final grade

Summary: Create a website that summarizes the course content

Format
Prepare your assignment files using Microsoft Office. When naming your assignment file for
submission, include the course abbreviation and number, and the assignment number, as in
this example:

CMIS311_Assignment5.docx

Note: As this assignment requires you to develop a website, submit a one-page document
that includes your name (first and last), your student ID number, the course number and
assignment number, and a URL for your website.

When your assignment is complete, return to the Assignment 5: Course Website dropbox on
the course home page and follow the instructions for submitting your assignment file.

Instructions
Using an online Web building and hosting service (WiX is recommended for ease of usability
if you do not already have experience with another service; it is free), construct a website
with the following features:

 A main or title page indicating the purpose of the site and who owns it
 A menu by which to navigation the website
 A subpage for each chapter in the textbook that includes
o a brief description of the main content and theme of the chapter;
o A glossary of terms that were new to you in the chapter;
o Links for supplemental online resources relevant to the chapter content (this will
require some research)

Supplemental resources can include any of the following:

 Information websites
 Links to support files such as device drivers, utilities (virus, malware, speed or
performance tests, key board shortcuts, etc.)
 Links to personality or learning styles tests or articles
 Product evaluation sites
 Links to examples of user satisfaction surveys
 Links to organizations for user support

 Links to online tutorials for popular applications such as MS Office components

Website evaluation: The website assignment is graded out of 100 marks, as follows:
