Demonstrates understanding of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional figures.
B. Performance Standards
The learner is able to describe, compare and construct 2-dimensional and 3-
dimensional objects
C. Learning Competencies
-identifies, names, and describes the four basic shapes (square, rectangle,
triangle and circle) in 2-dimensional (flat/plane) and 3- dimensional (solid)
objects.
-draws the four basic shapes.
-constructs three dimensional objects (solid) using manipulative materials.

II. Content
Four basic shapes
III. Teacher Materials
A. Reference
Mathematics 1 Gabay ng Guro
Mathematics 1 LM p. 202-209
B. Other Instructional Materials
PowerPoint presentations

Color the shape that is different in the group.

B. Motivation:
Puzzle:
Complete the scrap of shapes to form a shape.
C. Linking new lessons:
How did you form the shapes using a scrap of paper?
Is it important to help each other? why?
What shapes did you formed?

D. Presentation #1
This is Rey a boy who used to play but smart in class.
What did you notice to Rey?
Where is he going?
What did he bring?

E. Presentation # 2
What is the shape of a balloon? Party hat? Gift? Paper bag?
Which one of this has no corner and side?
Which one of this has 3 sides and 3 corners?
Can you describe the paper bag? How many sides and corners? How many
sides are equal?
How many corners and sides the square have? They have the same corner and
sides?

F. Developmental Activities:

Group Activity:

I- Match the shapes and the things that are similar.

II- Color the shapes that is similar to the first shape.

III- Circle the different shape.

IV- Match the shapes and its name.
