POEMS FOR OUR LIT FOLIO

THEME: Dream/Fantasy

DUE: February 11, 2024 [11:59PM]

1. Siren’s Voices

By: Mari Joy M. Tumulak

She screams,

However, it sounds like a dream,

They are cold,

However, they can shine brighter than gold;

They are not beautiful as we identified,

But have the voices that satisfied;

Here she comes singing,

Was magical and alluring;

The sweet echo of the Siren’s song,

The innocent tones of deadly wrong,

Though she’s no angel,

She wishes for love;

To make her alive,

A love too far from her reach, please meet her in the seabeach;

A young sailor heard his plea,

And began to sail further on the sea;

The siren was sure,

A new love she found;

And on the way down,

Her sailor had drowned;

She will cry,

Even she won’t try;

It’s the siren’s voices,

Making all the noises;

And now she’s alone,

In a silent cove;

As her heart broke,

In a place full of roke;

Loneliness starts to gloom,

As much as she wanted to bloom.

2. Broken Debris

By: Liza Mae Boloy

There are dreams that are meant to be true,

But have you forgotten that nightmares are dreams too?

And because of it, I’m afraid that my dreams

Are meant for someone else,

That no matter how hard I try to achieve, there’s always hindrances.

Most of them were stuck inside the closet,

And it haunts me every time I lay on this bed at night.

Hearing the whimpers of this little child

“Is dreaming too much considered a sin?” she asked.

As I walk on this memory of faded tapestry,

The melancholic dusk of yesterday slowly arrays,

It spontaneously knocks on the door,

Wanting to be heard and witnessed, as clock struck at four.

How do I cultivate my inner strength,

If they were also the reasons why I lost my grits?

They said that dreams could be true,

But forgot to mention that nightmares are dreams too.

3. She, shore

By: Mary Alexane Montesclaros

The sound of the still ocean,

My troubled thoughts’ favorite song

A teardrop saltier than the sea

It’s the quiet battles bottled up for long

Salty tears dropping by the waves,

Turning waters bluer than blue

Whispering pains to the shore,

Riffling through the pebbles broken and sore

But somehow I felt heard, amidst the bustling crowd behind

And I felt relieved, as the wind wipes my wet eyes

The gentle bay was my only crying shoulder

And the sunset that vows that things will get better

4. RED STRING

By: Iverson Mañago

Destined to be bounded by time,

Proving that this love isn’t a crime.

This red string bring us together,

To fulfill the fate of loving each other.

Seems like everything’s on the line,

Considering the feelings I can’t decline.

Just like in the dream I used to have,

Where I am tangled to someone whom I used to love.

This red string brings clarity at last,

That in every universe my love for you will last.

I am so glad that I finally found you,

As with you even the impossible can be true.

Dream, fantasy, or anything,

I’ll always choose to trust our red string.

As it connects our ties for a reason,

And that is to love you in every season.

[5-8 By: Glenda Leonor]

Pwede unta usa pugngan, apan mao nay nakatakdang kapalaran

Hangtud diha ra gyod taman, unom ra ka buwan.

I.

“Luoya balaya, wala na ma’y haligi nga nagbitay”

“Gamay ra gyod gihapon, dili na kana makalahutay”

Halos makabungol ang pagtamay sa balay nga gipanday

Mosaop nalang ang adlaw, nagpabiling singot magdinagayday.

II.

Maanindot nga panganod, unsa may kasunod?

6. //PAGBUHI//
Samtang ania sa ang-ang sa paghuwat,

Nangadugmok ang kasingkasing, ‘di nako madawat

Hiniposan nga paglaom, nahurot og kawat

Nganong sa bato, wa man ko naliwat?

Napuno sa imong hulagway ang way sulod nga suwatanan

Sa pinaka-ulhing tinta, imong ngalan makaplagan

Ang akong mga damgo, kanunay kang mamatngonan

Asa man gyod dapit ang kuwang?

7. //KAUHAW//

Iring nga nag ugtok

Taliwala sa udtong tutok

Palihug sa pagduaw

Way sama na kauhaw

Bisag tulo lang nga jutay,

Tagobtob ning dughan,

Wala gayo’y pagmahay.

Alboroto sa bulkan,

Wala nay dag-anan

Ang anino sa lusok-uwan

Buot nakong malantawan,

Aninong gipaabot,

Gusto ko nang matagamtaman,

Kon kini matuman,

Tibuok kasingkasing kong ikalipay

Makainom lang og tubig,

Mabukotan tingali sa kahayahay.

8. //BAYBAYON//

Kalinaw sa baybayon,

Akong hunahuna, buot kang handumon

Kanus-a man mahitabong

Ato nang mga anino ang magtagbo?

Sige, magpaabot ko!

Unsaon ning dughan ko’ng

Ikaw ramay ginapangandoy nga makab-ot

Usahay makalagot

Apan sa kaulhian,

Ikaw may mosantop sa alimpatakan.

Sige na! Pildi na’ko!

Ania rako!

Magpabilin sa kilid sa baybayon!

9. “Glisten, Illuminate, and Soar.”

By: Jerico Magallanes Ombal

Dream- merely a word, but deeply meaningful.

Because our hearts craves a distinct aspiration.

Once achieved, passionate evoke,

Like you captured gleaming afar.

Sweet, diligence, and patience lead our course.

In searching our purposeful pursuits.

It’s like rainbow with vivid and radiant shades.

After the rain, will genuinely illuminate our faces.

We are like birds, and our wing endlessly throbs.

Soaring higher and higher, flying effortlessly to heights we explore.

Through our toil time will past unnoticed,

And our “Hopes” will gradually become “At last”.

10.BREATHE OF LIFE

By: Hannah Lepon

As I stroll down the memory lane

Storms and torns tangles again

How dim and somber life could be

If you didn’t came to set me free

The solitude I once long for

And the exhaustion I used to wore

All vanished when you reached for my hand

Held me up,held me tight and through anything I feel like I can withstand

The tiny drops of rain falls gently on my skin

You were with me through the thick and thin

A ray of sunlight shining through the storm

Can this be hope and a glimpse of freedom in another form

Love can really shine bright through the darkest nights

A steady rock through the hardest fights

A year ago, a part of me died

But your love gave me a breathe of life

11. “Clouded Heart”

By: Aura Lyneth Lumabas

Cumulus was once in love,

Alluring, more than a lovely dove,

He was soaring in the heavens high,

Gale’s echo blasting in the azure sky.

He poured his soul into the heartfelt melody,

Not knowing this could be a tragedy.

A wild and untamed seed of Gale,

Leaving the love a tattered sail.

Tainted by lies that made the vapor tear,

Thus, woven ache lingers in despair.

Heart resounds with the reverberations of regret,

But she’s the melody the heart can’t forget.

In chaos heart, a love undying,

As bewilderment intensifies, a choice vying.

In the inner realms of the mind, the battles clashing,

Whether to depart or withstand the suffering.

12. A MEMORY OF HER

By: Trisha Mae Ymas

In dreams, my friend, we meet once more,

A story of shared happy memories galore.

Beneath the silver moon’s tranquil light,

Her presence emerges, a comfort delight.

In this realm, sorrow’s shadows recede,

Scenes of joy and peace beautifully concede.

Her dreams unfold, as we once foretold,

In the realms of childhood, stories of old.

We reached the peaks of aspirations high,

Our shared dreams painted across the sky.

What an enchanting sight,

In this reverie, perfection takes flight.

Yet, as the dream’s edges subtly blur,

Emotions linger, shedding silent tear.

Do dreams unveil truths we often fear,

Or merely echoes of what once held dear?

13. College

By: Kaira Perez

An academy of knowledge

Hail of futures shaped and all

But what they never told me

Is how it makes me feel small

The fast pace, new deadlines

Reports that take my nights

But worst thing that it gave me

Is loneliness and fright.

Like a raging current in a storm

Tugging to unknown bounds

Indecisive, lonely;

A stick floating around

Tumbling waves; shifting rocks

Beasts that cut my path

But I keep going anyway

To overcome Poseidon’s wrath

The only light I can see

Is a brook gliding through a forestry

Trees lush and green

I want to bask in serenity

Then once I flow on

I can simmer with a standstill

Quiet

Until it carries me to another will

14. Hymn

By: Venus Zane

A thunderclap roared at night,

Two lightning synced in sight.

As cloudburst passed by,

Hymns arise, echoing in the castle nearby.

Contrasting melody from distinct voices,

Separated by envy, their premise.

Veiled pathways in gloom, fate unsure,

Dooms courses begin to obscure.

Melodies drifted away by unwavering flow,

The birth of a new hymn grow.

Stargazing by the rolling waves,

A chilling tone resonates.

Butterflies from familiar tone,

Is it a hymn of life or of fate that feels alone?

15. “LIVING DREAM “

By: Calixtro, Marites D.

I close my eyes

Seeing blue clear skies

Butterflies flying free

Seems like having shopping spree

Lying comfortable in the clouds

Hearing the birds beautiful sounds

Feeling the wind’s embrace

Seems like I’m living in God’s grace

This is too good I’m doubting

My thoughts in mind keeps my heart pounding

I’m scared to unearth the reality

But it’s time to stop this insanity

I opened my eyes to be awaken

But nothing changed then

Thought I am dreaming

I then realized, I’m living the dream I’m aiming.

16: Tales of Fate

By: John Buazon

As winter fell you were so cold,

And as I’ve walk closer

Trying talk to you drawing nearer,

Still your presence was pure sold.

Then come again I’ve came by,

But I didn’t say a goodbye,

Yet I am still here giving you,

A reconcile of my hue.
I know you don’t want me here,

Nor do I ever wished to be!

For our past was drawn so near,

That it still has meant to be!

Our quarrels are over the past,

Yet it aches as our love end with dire,

And so true that I want to end the fire,

But all I ask our bond will last.

17. Love And Beat

By: John Bauzon

As you open the very first page,

I see mellow of you at gasp,

For I’ve imagine door of the cage,

And enter in your past.

You told me stories of fables,

And you shown me passages,

Even right through the turning table,

Then walk by the open stage.

Music can be heard singing,

With grace I am fond to embrace,

Over what magical to trace,

I’d do thou art of love on being.

My heart sings in with the song,

As beats keeps going on,

And follow even when it gets wrong.

But open my heart lighting on.

18. A Dreamer’s Creed

By: Alexis C. Ca-acoy

Upon life’s winding path, dreams rise high,

Guiding us like stars in the sky

Though laden with the weight of worldly care,

In dreams, we find solace, escaping despair.

Like children enraptured by tales of old,

Let us dare to dream, fearless and bold.

For within dreams, narratives unfold,

Painting life’s canvas in hues of gold.

Let this be our creed, our guiding star,

To always nurture the flames of dreams afar.

To always be a dreamer soaring high with ethereal wings

For a life without a dream is a life no longer worth living.

19. True Love

By: Matt Tristan Miro

In fairy tales, love’s portrayed flawlessly bright,

Yet reality paints a canvas with light.

True love is not flawless, nor without strain,

It’s patience, understanding, through joy and pain.

It’s the comfort in silence, the strength in each tear,

True love is imperfect, yet precious and dear.

20. The Dream Nomad

By: Kaira Perez

A nomad wanders the sand of destiny

His boots tear, filled of uncertainty

Regardless, he treads along

Looking for dreams to fill his hollow songs

He meets others like him

Some searching; some at a standstill

Some stay in content

Others fear and die from chills

But this one wanders along

Despite his main song all done

He wonders if he can still go on

Even if that one sonnet has passed on

So he keeps traveling the dunes

Exploring more dreams ahead

Hoping once he’d done all of them

He’ll be satisfied and go to bed

21. “ Diploma”

By: Joberth Duazo

Isang ordinaryo ngunit makabulahang papel.

Salat man tayo ngayon sa buhay at karangyaan

O’ diploma! Ika’y patuloy kong tinitingala.

Mahaba man ang proseso upang ika’y makuha

Maraming taon man ang lumipas at kailangan lagpasan
