classroom. Students can benefit from at least some technology in their learning. I also learned the
importance of good communication with colleagues. Working with a partner allowed me to get a
feel of communicating with someone else to plan, prepare, and teach a lesson.
The lesson reflected recommendations for teaching because it allowed students to be able
to see how one little mistake can give a wrong answer, but it can be fixed easily. It can give
worthwhile tasks by allowing multiple inputs, so students can see multiple points on the graph. It
One benefit of the technology is students can plug in the coordinates and it shows them
where the points go, so then students can learn where the coordinates go. Some students may be
confused on where the points will go, so using the technology will show them. Another benefit
of the technology is that it allows students to plot multiple points on the graph, so students can
do multiple problems, or they can use the technology to check to make sure they plotted the
points correctly. A last benefit of the technology is that students can graph equations easier
without doing it by hand and messing up. This benefit is more for junior high and high school,
There was evidence of teacher TPACK in that the demonstration showed understanding
of the technology and how to use it. There was also teacher TPACK because there was
understanding of the content. As the teacher, I had to teach the lesson allowing for pedagogical
knowledge. There was no evidence of student TPACK because the way we did our lesson, we
did not plan for a “student” to try out the technology so we would not have to stop sharing screen
and have the other person share their screen then go back to the first person sharing the screen.
When we talked during the planning stage, Meagan could use the technology, so if she would
have given a student view demonstration, she would have been able to show an understanding
through TPACK.
classroom. I plan to teach lessons then incorporate technology for students to practice in a fun
and interesting way. I think if you try to use too much technology, the students will try to take
advantage of it and will not do what they are supposed to. This in return will cause the students
to not learn and they will not be able to show an understanding of the content.
