WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR SETTING UP MFA

To set up the Multi-Factor Authentication,


you will need:

1) Your company PC
2) Your smartphone (company or
personal)
3) The Microsoft Authentication mobile
app installed on your smartphone
(company or personal)

STEP 1

Use your PC to go to: https://aka.ms/mfasetup.

Sign in to your account with your company e-mail


address.

Enter your password and click on “Sign in”.

You will have to register a secondary factor for


your account. Click on “Next”.

This guide shows you how to register the


Microsoft Authenticator mobile app.

Choose “Mobile app” from the dropdown


list.

Click on “Next”.

Click on “Receive notifications for


verification”, then click on “Set up”.

This will start the configuration for your


account to use the mobile app.

You will see a QR code you will have to


scan with your phone to set up the app.

Pull out your smartphone and open the


Microsoft Authentication app.

Touch “Add account”.

Touch “Work or school account”.

The camera on your phone will open to


scan the code on your computer screen.

You may have to give the app


permission to use the camera on your
phone.

The account is now added.

Click on “Next” on your computer


screen.

You will have to verify if everything


worked.

You will receive a notification on your


phone to approve.

Finally, enter a mobile number in case


you lose access to your mobile app.

Then click on “Done”.

Congratulations! You are now configured


to Multi-Factor Authentication.
