Email structure

 Greetings: we greet the person (i.e. say Hi or Hello followed by their first name).

 Opening paragraph: we respond to the person’s news and ask them how they are feeling.

 Main paragraph 1: we respond to the first important point.

 Main paragraph 2: we respond to the second important point.

 Main paragraph 3: we respond to the third important point.

 Closing paragraph: we use a closing phrase to start saying goodbye.

 Goodbye: we use a short farewell expression to say goodbye.

 Signature: we print or sign our first name.
