Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is designed for African American female high school seniors and is for one
year only. All applicants must be a high school senior at any Martin County high school and
any Port St. Lucie high school. The following criteria must be adhered to in order to be
awarded a scholarship:

1. Scholarships awarded will be based on scholastic average, financial need, leadership


skills and community service.

2. Applicant must have a minimum of a 2.8 GPA

3. Applicant must complete the scholarship application and provide all supporting
documents.

4. Application dates:
a. The Project Pink & Green Foundation will submit applications to schools in January.
b. Applications must be completed and returned to Project Pink & Green by February 2nd.
c. Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and selected students will be
invited for an interview.
d. Scholarship recipients will be announced in April/May at the school’s Scholarship/Awards
night ceremony.

5. In 2024, scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,500 and will be awarded to
four (4) students; two (2) students from Martin County and two (2) students from the City
of Port St. Lucie. The students will be selected from the following high schools:

Jensen Beach High Port St. Lucie High
Martin County High Treasure Coast High
South Fork High Somerset College Prep
Tradition Preparatory High

6. The number of scholarships awarded may vary each year based on the foundation By-
Laws and funding.

7. If selected, applicant must provide proof of college enrollment letter to Project Pink &
Green Foundation.

8. A check will be issued to the college or university where the student is enrolled, and will
be disbursed by the fall semester.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Applications are available at your Guidance Counselors Office beginning in


October. Each applicant must fully complete the application and submit all
required documentation.

1. Complete the Project Pink & Green Foundation application.

2. Provide an official copy of your current high school transcript.

3. Attach two (2) letters of recommendation (other than relatives) from a teacher,
church member or leader of an organization in which you are affiliated.

4. Attach a recent photo of yourself, full face (2 inch by 2 inch in size)

5. Completed applications can be mailed or emailed to the following:

Please provide two letters of recommendation submitted by persons other than


relatives. These letters may be from church affiliates, teachers, school administrators,
counselors, or community members. One letter must be from a teacher or counselor.

Essay Question

Please respond to the following essay question: What are your educational/academic
goals? What are your future career plans? How will this scholarship assist you in
achieving your goals? Your essay should be typed on a separate sheet of paper and be
included along with your application. Your essay should be a minimum of 500 words.

• Two letters of recommendation
• Essay-minimum of 500 words, typed, grammatically correct, neat and clear in its
expressions of ideas.
• Attach a recent photo of yourself, full face (2 inch by 2 inch in size)

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

All scholarships are for one (1) year and are non-renewable. Scholarships will be
awarded to the recipient’s institution of choice higher learning upon proof of
