-You build solid foundations through deep investigations in order to feel secure in your trial-
and-error process.

-You want to understand things at a deep level, and then you look for ways (mainly through a
network of friends) to share that knowledge.

-You are naturally gifted, but at times unaware of the gifts. When you are doing what you
love, you are recognized and called out to share your natural talents.

-You have a seductive projection field that attracts people to you (who recognize your gifts

Step Five: Incarnation Cross

Our incarnation cross is not something that is inevitable or something that is entitled to us.
So, it doesn’t happen automatically by us just living our lives the way we want to. It takes a
whole lifetime of deconditioning and making the correct choices for us to fulfill our
incarnation cross. As Lynda Bunell in The Definitive Book of Human Design says, “We don’t
awaken to our cross, we awaken in it. Our cross embodies the full expression of our
awareness potential and our process of living awake.”

The incarnation crosses are listed in short descriptions in the book just mentioned and, on
the website below. There are 192 variations of Incarnation Cross. You will see that some of
them have the same name, but with a different number after them. Be sure to check what
yours says on your BodyGraph. For example:

RAX Explanation 4 incarnation cross is completely different to RAX Explanation 3.

Not all of them have a number after them, so always refer to your BodyGraph to see what
yours is. If there is no number, there is only one variation of that particular name.

Even though our incarnation cross is our purpose, it isn’t something that we should try to
fulfill with our minds, or even worse, force it to happen. Instead, focus on living correctly by
following your Strategy and Authority and you will awaken in your incarnation cross.

In this cheat sheet, we have given you a quick breakdown of the first 5 steps in learning how
to decode your own Human Design Chart!

Within the online course, each step is accompanied by a video that shows you where to find
each step on your chart and it gives a further explanation of the topic. There is also a detailed

Planets + Gates:
The impact planetary placements have on our charts is monumental. Knowing which planet
brings which flavour to a gate can change the whole composition of your chart. For example:

My chart has Gate 5 in Mercury:

teaching, writing)

combine that with:

GATE 5 - Waiting - The Gate of Fixed Patterns

- You find great satisfaction in rituals and routines which also bring you vitality and help you
stay in your flow
- Trust yourself and your unique life path

In a nutshell, it’s natural for me to express through talking/writing about how I incorporate
the energy of Gate 5 in my life. Sharing with others that it’s safe to trust themselves and what
my rituals and routines may be.

Whereas if I had Gate 5 in my South Node (for example) I would be more inclined to reframe
the energy of Gate 5 and notice what parts of it no longer serve me.

It is possible to have gates show up multiple times in the planets on your chart, this means
they are a big theme in your life and not so easy to ‘ignore’. There is a lot of polarity in
Human Design, so let’s say I had Gate 5 in my Mercury AND South Node, then I would be
communicating about the parts of it that serve me and learning to leave behind what didn’t
serve me. It’s a completely different energy.

The planets are so important!

Variables:
The information about the variables (arrows around your head on your chart) is traditionally
very hard to find and even harder to decipher. We’ve broken it down for you and made it
easy to understand. This information gives incredible insight and is that extra level of depth in
Human Design that helps you to thrive. If you have children, learning about their variables is
priceless.
