TECHNOLYMPICS
(A Showcase of Marketable Products and Performances)

COMPONENT AREA: INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY


KEY STAGE: Elementary (Grades 4-6)
EVENT TITLE: Invitation Card Making Using Microsoft Productivity Tools
NO. OF PARTICIPANT/S: One (1)
TIME ALLOTMENT: Three (3) Hours
PERFORMANCE STANDARD: Create an invitation card as a knowledge product using
Microsoft productivity tools.
21st CENTURY SKILL/S: Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking, ICT for
Learning, Self-Regulation
DESCRIPTION: Using several Microsoft productivity tools to perform layout and
unique invitation card design, regardless of the topic or occasion.

EVENT RULES AND MECHANICS

1. The showcase is open to all learners who are enrolled in Grade 4-6 from the eight
Schools Division Offices. Participants must consist of 1 learner. The Teacher Coach
will give minimal supervision to the learner as overseer.

2. Participants shall use appropriate personal protective equipment.

3. Participants shall follow the sequence of skills showcase as stated below:

a. Presentation of the participants information such as: Name of Learner


and Grade Level only.
b. Introduction of the skills to be showcased.

c. Skills showcase proper where learners shall verbally present the process.

4. The participant is given 3 hours to showcase their skills.

5. The name of the school or the SDO shall not be presented in the video to avoid
subjectivity during the judging phase. There shall be no sign of school identification in
any form.

6. Any of the Microsoft productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) may be used
by the learner-participant in editing or enhancing images, and pictures; creating
graphs and diagrams (if necessary); but Microsoft Publisher will be used to layout the
invitation card.
7. The layout size of the invitation card and the theme will depend on the
instruction of the event administrator per level of competition.
