15.PROINERT2 Selector Valve Data Sheet
15.PROINERT2 Selector Valve Data Sheet
DESCRIPTION
Selector Valves allow a single agent supply to be utilized for protection of multiple hazards, reducing the
total amount of agent and number of cylinders required.
When utilizing multiple cylinders to protect multiple hazards it is necessary to use Selector Valves to divert
the flow of agent into the activated hazard. The selector valves may be activated electronically or manually
by pneumatically connecting to the solenoid actuator provided with the selector valve.
APPROVALS:
Note: Special considerations shall be made when using a selector valve controlled system to protect adjacent hazards that • FM Approved
may simultaneously become involved in a fire.
Each Selector Valve is equipped with a Valve Position Monitor that provides a visual indication of the status
of the valve (open or closed).
The Selector Valve Assembly can be pneumatically operated by utilizing agent pressure from the fire
suppression agent piping network. A Universal Valve Operator (UVO) is installed in the piping network
(between the cylinder(s) and the selector valve assembly) to provide pressure to operate selector valve
when the UVO is either manually or electrically activated.

INSTALLATION
Install the Selector Valve assembly and a tee for the UVO / Release fitting approx. 1.0 feet apart in the fire suppression agent piping
network.
Connect one end of the actuation hose (supplied with selector valve assembly) to selector valve assembly and the either to pressure port
on UVO.
Insert UVO into Release fitting and secure with Retaining Clip.
Important Note: Check UVO to ensure device is armed before inserting. The UVO should be the last component installed on the Fike
ProInert system. The following items should be completed prior to final installation of the UVO:
• Cylinder installation should be complete and secured in place
• Discharge piping installation should be complete and all bracing, brackets, etc. in place
• The discharge nozzles should be installed
• The detection & control system installation should be complete & tested – no faults shall be present
