Leadership and Ethics (FA 2023)

After a thorough examination and profound contemplation of the essence of leadership, it

has become evident to me that the aspiration to lead is not merely driven by the quest for
a particular designation or position. As Warren Bennis aptly pointed out in his work, the

essence of authentic leadership lies in embracing one's inner self, unleashing one's unique

talents, skills, and vitality, and translating one's vision into tangible reality. This endeavor

necessitates authenticity and transparency, as attempts to conceal one's true self are futile.

Instead, one ought to be committed to becoming the individual they aspire to be,

wholeheartedly embracing and traversing the journey of personal growth and

transformation.

The leadership ability encompasses multiple dimensions, all crucial for team success.

Firstly, leaders must be adept at setting precise objectives and ensuring that team members

comprehend and embrace their significance. They must formulate strategic plans to guide

the team towards achieving these goals, ensuring that all members receive the requisite

resources and support. Secondly, leaders must possess the skill to cultivate positive

relationships with their team members, fostering trust and respect, and fostering effective

communication and collaboration. They must be willing to listen to diverse opinions and

suggestions, respecting them equally with their own. Additionally, leaders must identify

and nurture the potential of each team member, providing them with training and growth

opportunities. Decision-making and problem-solving abilities are also integral to

leadership. Leaders must be able to make informed decisions in complex and challenging

scenarios, analyzing issues, weighing pros and cons, planning, and executing decisions.

Furthermore, they must adapt to changing environments, guiding the team through

transitions and difficulties. Flexibility and innovation are key in driving continuous

organizational and team progress. In essence, leadership is a multifaceted ability

encompassing goal-setting, relationship-building, decision-making, problem-solving,

adaptability, and change management. The development of these skills is a continuous

process, requiring ongoing learning, collaboration, and support.

Furthermore, effective leadership goes beyond just understanding theories and concepts; it

involves putting these principles into practice in real-life situations. This is where the

significance of emotional intelligence becomes apparent. In my role as a manager, I

frequently encounter team members with diverse thoughts and behaviors, making it more

challenging to master different leadership styles. Therefore, I have come to believe that

strong leadership skills are rooted in emotional intelligence. The key to effective

leadership is the ability to adapt and utilize various leadership styles while remaining true

to oneself. As for my personal values, I firmly believe that safety, wealth, health,

happiness, and family are the fundamental aspects of life. I rely on my strengths to define

my identity and principles. In particular, family holds a special place in my heart as it

serves as a crucial foundation for individual growth and success. Through regular self-

reflection and honest evaluation of my abilities, I strive to leverage my strengths while

learning from areas where improvement is needed. This level of self-awareness is

essential for both personal and professional development.

Flexibility is a prominent characteristic that defines me; I possess the ability to swiftly

adjust to unforeseen or changing circumstances that may unsettle or intimidate others.

When faced with disorder, my composed response has a calming effect on those around

me and aids in addressing people's needs. Individuals acquainted with me will discover

numerous benefits. For instance, during interpersonal interactions, I exhibit genuine

sincerity and effortlessly establish close connections. My passion for acquiring knowledge

enables me to instinctively grasp effective learning techniques. My innate ability to

swiftly access and assimilate information, coupled with my unwavering commitment to

continuous learning, enabled me to maintain a competitive edge. The passion for

acquiring knowledge fuels my drive in life, propelling me towards constant self-

improvement. During moments of contemplation, I envision myself as an adept leader and

aspire to be a trailblazer. There are certain hidden talents within me that remain unknown

to many, particularly my fervent fascination with ideas. My penchant for perceiving the

world through a unique lens and consistently establishing connections between disparate

elements makes me an invaluable asset during brainstorming sessions. Ideas captivate me

beyond measure.I possess the skill to establish connections between seemingly unrelated

phenomena. In times of disorder, I exhibit composure and offer solace to those in my

vicinity. My adeptness at effective communication and addressing others' needs has

garnered praise from numerous individuals. Those familiar with me comprehend that I

possess several commendable attributes. For instance, my genuine and sincere approach

towards interpersonal relationships enables me to swiftly forge robust and meaningful

connections with others. I harbor a profound enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge and

possess an inherent ability to efficiently assimilate new information. This unwavering

drive for continual growth has enabled me to remain ahead of the curve and adapt

seamlessly to novel challenges. My love of learning inspires me, and I am constantly

looking for new learning experiences to enrich myself. In reflective moments, I imagine

myself as a skilled and capable leader, capable of making sensible and sound decisions.
Also, I have hidden talents that many people don't realize, and I'm passionate about

generating innovative ideas. Since I tend to perceive the world from different perspectives

and identify the connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, I excel as a

dynamic and creative brainstorming companion. While trying to learn business skills, I

also insist on acquiring knowledge through reading. I spend half an hour every night to

learn a day of work to make up for my shortcomings, and then spend half an hour to learn

new knowledge. Now that I am able to complete my job, my knowledge and skills are

constantly improving. In terms of life, a harmonious interpersonal relationship is the

foundation of any work, and a harmonious working atmosphere can create more value. I

am very happy, and in my life, my friends also give me meticulous care. Under their

encouragement, I am not afraid to work hard, and I will do some difficult work, take the

initiative to share the heavy work, and form a good working atmosphere.

My leadership style is based on vision. Vision Leadership is characterized by enabling

employees to understand that their work is part of the organization; emphasizing ultimate

goals, not asking how employees achieve those goals, and giving them space to reach

their full potential. Advantages: Suitable for all business environments; the most effective

of the six styles will have a positive impact on all aspects of the organization atmosphere;

motivate employees to be part of the organization; when the company loses direction, it

can effectively describe the new direction for the company and bring new long-term

vision to the employees. Disons: When faced with a group of more experienced experts

and colleagues, you may be considered arrogant and can only talk about things; if you can

only talk about the vision without realizing the direction of realizing the vision, it will
only appear on paper. Leaders must play visionary leaders at some stage. If the leader

does not lead with any vision, the company will most likely not have a big future

direction. But a leader can never be a visionary leader for a long time. While visionary

leaders can provide a good direction for businesses, this vision still needs to be realized.

In many cases, an enterprise fails to realize its vision, which has nothing to do with the

quality of the vision itself, but the effective implementation that determines the practice of

the vision. Unless a visionary leader has a team that can perform, a visionary leader needs

to transform into a leader who leads the team to achieve the vision. My leadership style

led me to choose something higher, something I am good at. What I admire others most is

their determination and calmness in dealing with people. More importantly, they have

their own clear view of the problem, they know what they want and what they are

interested in. My mentor has influenced me the most. I learned a lot from him. He has

strong thinking skills and a difficult enough major, but he is still willing to listen to others,

summarize their strengths, and then correct them according to his own problems. He is

also very good to others, and his teachers and students like him very much. I think work is

for a better life, and work is not the whole of life. Work hard and seriously, when not

working, they have their own free time, to do what they are interested in, to improve their

working and learning ability. In my opinion, communicating with others and reading more

will play a greater role in improving my abilities. Doing myself is the most important

thing in my life and the most important role in my life. If managers want to expand their

leadership style, they need to understand which EQ components make up the leadership

style they lack, and then target these areas to improve their emotional intelligence. It is
one thing to be familiar with each leadership style; being able to communicate from six

people is another. To do this, being a good executive requires a high emotional

intelligence, which determines the leadership of a manager.

In my eyes, leadership is not just a skill or a duty, but an art, an art that requires careful

carving and constant practice. This art requires leaders not only to have a clear vision and

strong execution, but also to have profound wisdom and excellent emotional intelligence.

A successful leader needs to understand that the core of leadership is not only guidance

and management, but also motivation and inspiration.

Personally, personally, I always believe that leadership is not an inherent trait, but an

ability that can be improved through learning and practice. I am keen on learning and

good at learning from all kinds of experiences and situations, which keeps me on the path

of leadership. I appreciate those who are determined, calm and opinions who show me the

diversity and possibilities of leadership.

At work, I try my best to be a leader who listens and understands others. I believe that

only by truly understanding the needs and expectations of employees can we better guide

them and help them achieve their personal and team goals. I strive to create an open,

inclusive and mutually respectful working atmosphere, so that everyone can find their

own value and reach their own potential here.

At the same time, I also understand that leadership improvement does not happen

overnight. It requires me to constantly reflect and revise in practice, and also requires me

to maintain the enthusiasm for learning new knowledge and new skills. Therefore, I

always maintain an open and enterprising attitude, willing to accept new challenges and
learn new skills to better serve my team and organization.

In my opinion, leadership is both a responsibility and an honor. I am willing to take this

responsibility and lead my team to a better future with my wisdom and enthusiasm. I

believe that as long as we work together, our team will be able to stand out in the fierce

competition and realize our common vision.

As a competent leader, I know that making wise and sound decisions is crucial to the

success of a team. My leadership style is based on vision, and I encourage employees to

clearly understand how their work is tied to the organizational vision. This style of

leadership not only motivates employees to become part of the organization, but also

paints a new long-term vision for companies when they lose their way.

However, I also realize that the core of leadership goes far beyond that. In addition to a

clear vision and strong execution, a good leader also needs to have a deep worldly

wisdom and excellent emotional intelligence. This means that I will be good at listening,

understanding and caring about the needs and expectations of my team members, and

create an open, inclusive and respectful working atmosphere. In such an environment,

everyone can find their own value, give full play to their potential, and jointly push the

team forward.

In order to continuously improve my leadership, I always maintain the enthusiasm for

learning new knowledge and new skills. I believe that leadership is a ability that can be

enhanced through learning and practice, not just an inherent trait. Therefore, I am willing

to accept new challenges and dare to try new methods to better serve my team and

organization.
In addition, I know that the practice of leadership requires a team that can perform.

Therefore, I focus on cultivating the ability and potential of team members, and encourage

them to play to their strengths and work together to realize the vision of the organization.

I believe that a united, collaborative, and creative team is at the heart of any successful

organization.

In my life, I also try to keep my balance. I think work is for a better life, not the whole

life. Therefore, I pay attention to the balance between work and life, and try to find my

own spare time in my busy work, do things I am interested in, and improve my work and

life ability.

Finally, I want to emphasize that leadership is both a responsibility and an honor. I am

willing to take this responsibility to lead my team to a better future with my wisdom and

enthusiasm. I believe that as long as we work together, our team will surely stand out in

the fierce competition and realize our common vision. At the same time, I also look

forward to growing up together with my team members and creating a better future

together.
