Meng 3161 Project Questions

This document outlines three projects for student groups to analyze different machine tools: Group 1 will analyze the working principle of a lathe machine, including the number of links, joints, and kinematic chains. They will also explain the tool return mechanism and draw a labeled sketch. Their 5+ page report will cover the working principle and operations. Group 2 will perform a similar analysis of a milling machine and compare it to a lathe. Group 3 will analyze a shaper machine and compare it to a lathe. Each group must submit their report by May 8th, 2023.
