Brian’s Travels
Right now, my family and I are on holiday in Dominica, an
island in the Caribbean Sea. It’s a great place to enjoy
nature. There are beautiful beaches, forests, mountains,
volcanoes, and waterfalls here. Dominica has also got the
second-largest hot lake in the world. The temperature of
the water is around 90°C! The weather here is hot and
rainy. I’ve got an umbrella and sunglasses in my bag at
all times!
We’re staying at the Fort Young Hotel. The restaurant has
got excellent food. It’s 12.30 pm right now, and my family
are having lunch. I’m waiting for my meal. I like seafood,
so I’m having shrimp. My mum is getting pork and my dad
is having chicken. The restaurant has also got vegetarian
options, with lots of delicious salads.
There are so many attractions to choose from here!
Dominica’s coast is a great place for whale, dolphin and
turtle watching. It’s a special experience to see these
animals, and it’s also important to learn how to protect
them. Bird lovers can see many birds all over the island,
but especially at the national parks. Adventurous tourists
can go horse riding or go swimming at a waterfall.
There’s a port, and you can take ferries to different
islands in the area. This afternoon, we are planning to
visit the Dominica Museum to learn about the history of
the island.
