Title of the Study

Contents of Thesis Proposal

General Background:

- Description of your Topic, major factors contributing to your problem (with the help of
supporting literature).
- Related content of the related literature.
- Relevance of the proposed study with good rationale (with the help of literature).
- Focus of your study (addressing the issues regarding which territory/organization, which
focus group/concerns and which specific aspect of focus group).

Note: 1) Relevance and the focus of study should be on single-single paragraphs respectively.

2) Don't make it large your general background (2- 2.5 pages is preferable).

description to specific description).

Statement of Problem:

It is preferable to express statement of problem in three paragraphs.

- Background of problem of given event or phenomena or how the problem is generated,


why does this research need to be conducted (Conditions to be improved, Difficulties to
be eliminated)?
- Situation contributing the problem/ in which aspect your research would be different than
of early related research (with the help of supporting literature)?
- Statements in the form of research questions or in interrogative sentences/ what you want
to exactly explore?
Note: Content description of statement of problem should on pyramidal shape as shown

below (i.e. large description to specific description).

Research Objectives:

It should be consistent with the research question of statement of problem and should be written
in future tense.

Note: acceptable and non acceptable action verbs for objectives.

It is recommended first three acceptable verbs for your proposed research.

Theoretical (Conceptual) Framework:

Review of literature is the basis for developing theoretical framework and provides theoretical
base for your research. It establishes the interrelationship of variables of previous study and your
expected relationship of variables.

- Which theory you will adopt? (Author's name, research title with date of publication and
defining the related variables in short).

- How the proposed framework is developed (Related literatures that contribute the proposed
framework with Author's name, research title and, date of publication and defining the related
variables in short).

Research Methodology:

Research Design is framework for conducting the research, Procedures necessary for obtaining
inputs and information, RD is a tool box for a particular task. It should be mentioned in future
tenses.

- Mention which RD you will adopt (Descriptive, survey, case study, correlational etc).

- Define Population, Sampling method and the sample size.

- Define types of data required (primary or secondary).

- Define data collection procedures (eg. Questionnaires survey, interviews/ secondary sources).

- Data presentation and Analysis tools.

References:

You most list at the end of proposal. It includes books, journal articles, internet sources from
which you have cited in different parts of proposal.

- It has name of author/s , date of publication, name book/ journal name and topic of
article, name of publisher, page number etc.
- All above should be kept in APA format.

Take in Attention:

- Margins: 1 inch right, top, bottom and 1.3 from left.


- Font size 12 (Times New Roman).
- Line-spacing 1.5.
