Ensure that safety barriers and signs are in place before testing begins and that unauthorised personnel

Ensure that the external surfaces of the equipment are clean and free from damage.

Check that the manufacturer's documentation for the engine bay/starter and associated protection and
03 safety devices is complete and available.

Confirm that the fuse/MCB ratings are in accordance with the latest design drawings.

Confirm that the engine control / protection, relays are correctly configured and the settings are in
05 accordance with the latest design drawings.

Confirm that the equipment rotates freely.

Check and record the insulation resistance of the anti-condensation heater.

Measure the winding resistance and record it

Confirm point-to-point test of motor feeder.

If necessary, continuity test of the winding thermistors.

Select test position and check operation of starter control circuits.

Ensure that all trip circuits are functioning satisfactorily.

Confirm that all remote/local control devices are functioning satisfactorily.

Confirm that the anti-condensation heater is functioning satisfactorily.

Red Line Markup completed.

Start motor and check direction of rotation (record on page 2).

Confirm and record ramp-up time and starting current (record on page 2).

Stop the motor using the local control station and record the run-down time (record on page 2).
