Chapter 1
Chapter 1
>>
Everyone’s life is a story, whether it is a mortal who tramples on the ground dreaming of great fame and
fortune. Even Great gods whose names have reached all the corners of Heaven and Earth about their
great deeds and adventures also started as mere dreams. But this is a story that's been passed down
from generation to generation to all mortals of young gods and a mortal who changed the course of
history and had their names known throughout all the lands.
<<Faye>>
“Faye!” I stumbled at the mention of my name. The buried memories of the joyous times I spend in the
village before my journey. A harmonious place was not as dangerous as the rumored lands of 'The onyx
planes’. A lawless land filled with bandits, petty thieves, and my greatest worry the "god slayer". I’ve
been in these lands for more than one moo…
“Don’t you think a mere lady sitting in the woods by herself would be dangerous” a stranger’s voice
broke me out of my mental monologue? I leaped backward facing the strange man and readying my
stance, bringing up my guard. Grabbing the axe from my back hoping to anticipate an attack from the
man or any of his ‘hidden’ friends.
"Now that's a fierce way of greeting people" the stranger playfully swinging his sword. He had a carefree
demeanor which surprisingly conflicted with me on how he lived for this long with such behavior in
these dangerous lands.
“Humph…a woman of few words, I understand, why don't you spend the night with me and my boys,
and let's go a couple of rounds it'll be safe" The man chuckled and his accomplices emerged from the
shadows covered in all-black attire and unsheathed swords. "I should cut off your tongue for such filthy
as you have no better use for it" These words made them all burn red from anger and if they tried to
fight me I was confident that I could take on all four of them in a fight.
These people were not the same as the people who raised me. They not only took care of me and my
father but rather hid the fact that I was a goddess. Yes, a goddess raised by mortals some would say that
this is a change from how the stories usually say that gods come from an upper realm called 'Heaven'
but I‘m special as I was born in the mortal realm. I've always had to keep this fact a secret all my life but
now I need to make sure this fact is not known as there've been rumors of a mortal who can kill gods a
'god slayer' but enough of the useless thoughts I need to focus on the crises at hand.
Leaping backward making sure not to slam myself into the curtain of trees surrounding this place. I
strengthened my legs with power and swinging my axe I chopped one of the bandits in half before he
could even respond. His blood splatted across the trees surrounding us, you could see his organs from
his once singular torso. This is one of the great blessings I received since birth the ability and raw
strength to overpower even 100 men.
“Damn it! Quickly surround and kill her we don’t need her alive only her valuables” he roared from
anger and shock from the brutal attack.
“Just kill her already! It's only one woman" They all attack simultaneously hoping that one of them
would land a hit but anticipating such a crude attack I jump into the air landing on the tree and
maneuvering myself I aimed for my next victim, swing the axe I slashed his head clean from his eyes to
the tree behind him. This caused a great amount of dust to form and seizing the moment’s advantage I
threw my axe at another bandit separating his torso and the lower half and dragging himself to his boss.
“Help me!” he cried his face distorted from pain before dying in his arms.
"Dear god you're a monster," he said with a trembling voice as he abandons his weapon and tried to flee
further into the woods but I didn’t let him go I tackled him to the ground. “Please spare me, we were
only doing what we're told we rob the people who camp near the town further up north” he cried
pleading, begging for my mercy.
“And why spare you” I questioned him while standing at a considerable distance from him I know I
should get rid of him for trying to rob me but I think no I was rised to give people a second chane so I ask
him why.
“I can provide u with information that u would find most benefical to you” This is true I had no idea as to
where I was going and getting information about this area can be the difference between life and death
in the ‘onyx plane’.
“Alright but what makes u think I can trust your information, what if you are lying to save yourself??”
saying this statement I fold my arms but keeping my axe in my eye view
“Look at us we are in a forest and it is about to be sun down and judging from your attire you aint a
native of this land, so that means you don’t know what happens after sunsets or you can correct me if
you want” he smirked because he knew that I wasn’t a native of the land let alone some acknowledge
about this land
“Fine but if your information doesn’t benefit me in the slightes im going to leave you crippled and not
dead like your comrades, think of it as a punishment for betraying your comrades and try to flee with
your life insead of dying in battle like a warrior… oh and remove that smirk I can get information from
your mouth and you don’t need legs for that” This warning is important if I intermidate him he wont
think of trying to escape from me anytime soon.
“So what do I even call you??” I really needed something to call him.
<???>
“I bring news” I bowed before the small stage in the dark room, only illuminated by the moonlight.
"Your subordinates no longer have an active bond" The mysterious figure, hidden in the shadows of the
curtains that decorated the stage, finished my sentence before I could.
“Yes, Master they are souls are no longer in the realm of the living” raising my head after giving him
information that he seemingly possessed. The mysterious figure slowly enters the moonlight. His body
was over 7ft.
He was wearing a robe patterned with the colors of black and red. His arms folded behind his back and
took steps shortening the distance between us, but passing me and having his back towards me,
removing his mask.
"Tell me, advisor, what would you do if your tools aren't suited for their purpose "The air in the room
changed “.
“I'm sorry leader I promise you I won't fail you again” Just as I finished saying this his aura changed it
became more suppressive and I could sense the murderous intent behind it. He was warning me and I
tried hiding my fears to answer or even try to make an excuse for myself.
“ They should get rid of but I promise you if you look past this mistake I’ll bring results that can get
information on our trouble-some foe ( The Grim Reaper of the immortal)” I said barely articulating my
words
“And how will you achieve that” his voice echoed through the small room and I answered still shacking
but tried gaining my track of thought
“ As you know since I’m the third {need a cool name here} of the 12 curses I’m in charge of the tracker's
division and I already set out my best squad to try and find (The Grim Reaper of the Immortal) or
anything regarding his whereabouts” This is rather true but I don’t think telling him that I lost contact
with my entire squad over 4 months ago, I’ll rather keep this part to myself.
"If you plan to merely buy the time I'll know and tell the rest of the squad captains to prepare just in
case (he) does arrive” In a moment he disappeared and I was left alone in the room
I took a deep my body was shaking violently as the sudden pressure disappeared my heart never beat so
loudly in my chest but I knew I had to get all my affairs in order.
<<FAYE>>
The sight that lay in front of my eyes was like the end of a dark fantasy. A pile of corpses lay in the
middle of the room their blood was everywhere and it poured from the ceiling like rain, now you might
be asking what could kill nearly the entire residents of {} in a single night. It would be this man…one man
who sits on the pile of disfigured corpses. I could feel my blood curl and throughout the entirety of my
being it screamed danger, run! for he was a being of unfathomable power.
“What are you” I finally mastered up the courage to ask, he looked at through his blood stained hair. He
had a cold gaze.
“I’m a mortal like you” this has to be a lie he can’t be mortal to be able to kill the leader of the demons
with such ease while being outnumbered 100 to 1 and he’s nothing like me a goddess and even I cower
in fear while being in his presence, but there could be one other being that could emit such a force.
“What’s your name??” as I say this he climbs down the mountain of corpses his walk was refined its like
walking on dead bodies was nothing more like a small task.
“I am Kai that’s my birth name but people call me by another based on my actions”
“They call me Kai (The Grim Reaper of the Immortals)” my heart stopped beating when I had that name
he was the mortal that kills gods mercilessly.
