RUBRICS FOR GROUP SINGING

MC14-MUSIC
CRITERIA PERCENTAGE
Pitch (Intonation)
All pitches are correct. Starting point is always on pitch
and clear. Singing matches throughout the whole

melody in the low and high parts and it stay in a key.

Tone quality (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass)


Voice has a pleasing and beautiful tone. It sounds
naturally and free.

Lyrics/Articulation
All the words are clear and lyrics are easy to understand 15

Steady Tempo/Rhythm
All rhythms were properly on the beat and of proper
length

Posture/Expression
A posture was naturally maintained with balanced feet
on the floor, hands on sides, relaxed shoulders and

head. All gestures are aligned with the lyrics of the song
and they help to express the mood of the music.

Breath Control
Each phrase was sung on a single breath and the places
where the breaths occurred throughout the

performance of the song were at logical and musical
times. (i.e. at the end of an idea or a phrase)
