What is Semester Exchange Program?

Here’s an incredible opportunity for students to study


abroad for a semester that promises an unmatched

Academic Enrichment: Exposing students to new

International Transcript & Internationalized CV:
Students who study at a foreign university receive an
official transcript from the host university that can be
used as an advantage in the Curriculum Vitae (CV).
100% scholarship on tuition fee: Students will
receive a 100% scholarship on the tuition fee from
the foreign University.
International Network and Exposure: The
connections they establish during semester exchange
will create a global network of professionals, and
potential collaborators, enhancing their professional
network.

opportunities with the partner University for them.
Better opportunities for future jobs abroad: Students
with a prior international exposure are preferred both at
home country or abroad.

confidence, and interpersonal skills.
Cultural Immersion: Living and studying in a foreign
country will allow them to embrace new customs,
traditions, and language.
Eligibility Criteria
• Grades/Percentage/attendance:
› Current LPU students must have a minimum of 6.5 CGPA with no
backlogs and no re-appears at the time of application with no
pending indiscipline cases.
› Students must have a good attendance record.
› If applying for 2nd semester, the student must have a minimum of
75% in their 10th and +2.

• Passport: A student must have a valid passport with more than 6


months of expiry remaining.

• English Proficiency Test: Most universities will not ask students to


sit for the exam but there could be a few exceptions so be ready to
appear for one in case need be.

• Funds: Though you get a 100% scholarship on tuition fees in most


cases, you should plan sufficient funds to manage visa, and airfare
living expenses and to sustain yourself. (around 2.5-5 lakh)

• When to Start: Students should start working on this in January for


sessions starting in the September intake.
How to Apply for Semester Exchange Program?

• Check UMS for Announcement


• Interested Candidate should email to [email protected]
• Student must pay a non-refundable Processing Fee of Rs. 2000
• Document requirements from the student after paying the processing fee:
› Duly filled Study Abroad Application Form provided by Division of International Affairs (DIA)
› Latest CV of the student
› Passport Size Photograph
› Colored copies of the front and back page of the Passport
• After receiving the above-mentioned documents, 2 rounds of interviews will be scheduled:
› Division of International Affairs
› Your respective school Head/Faculty member
• After both interviews are done, the student profile will be reviewed. If the student is selected then, he/she will be
nominated to the partner university.
• After nomination, the student will receive a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the partner university if they accept your
candidature.
• After receiving the LoA, the student must apply for the VISA himself/herself on behalf of the LoA.

FAQs
• Is English Proficiency test required?
Generally English proficiency test is not required for semester abroad but some countries and universities make it mandatory.
The score required is 6.5 bands not less than 6 in each module in IELTS.
• Are there any charges involved in the semester abroad?
The student has to pay for the visa application charges, travel expenses, the living expenses while studying at overseas host
university and the nominal expenses (if any) as suggested by the overseas host university.
• Can I apply for education Loan?
The student is not eligible for an education loan because this is a short study abroad program. The education loan is applicable for
full time study at the educational institute.
• What kind of VISA would I get?
The nomenclature of the type of visa of each country is different. A student generally gets a short-term visa not more than 6
months. The applicant can apply for visa once he/she receives the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) and has all the necessary documents
in place as required by the visa issuing authority of the country you are applying to.
